I did a pontoon boat like this, Still working on it. I went to Arkansas to get this 28 ft party barge. I stripped the deck down and took the bar and console out. Built a center console and extended it out and put a table on the front with storage under it. When closed it is a bench. The center is a live well. Also built a storage across the back which when you let the lid down makes a big bench. Trailer was a little rough and surprised we made it back home. They were putting new tires on it when we got there. Tandem axle and I had to replace 2 sets of bearings and put buddy bearing caps on it. The motor did good first couple times out but them lost a cylinder. 85 hp Force and the power pack is 350 dollars. I had a 70 hp Johnson but needed rebuilt. I found another 70 hp Johnson in Texas and bought it cheap, $120, and only had to put a water pump on it and now I have lots of spare parts. The Johnson not as fast but after changing the prop does good and runs great. Got all my lights done for night fishing and can't wait to try them out. Wind here has been terrible and when it drops below 40 mph I start thinking about going. LOL Always looking for ideas to put on here.
That's one of the best pontoon builds I've seen! You see a lot of fancy "flufftoons" out there, but yours is ultra functional and still clean. I'm getting ready to do some reconfiguring on my 22ft tritoon and this has givin me some inspiration. Thank you!!
Just starting my pontoon project. Gonna use a few if your ideas. The storage underneath is a great idea. Mine will be used to transport my Honda Pioneer 1100. My pontoon is 31 feet long.
Holy BLEEP mister! $3K? You scored! May have to have you look for a pontoon boat for me! Ha ha ha. Did very well. BTW that under deck stow, great that its made out of aluminum, is awesome as a skid plate. At least for use in the Pacific Northwest. The ONLY thing that I would probably change &/or add is solid siding (to keep water from blowing onto the deck on windy/choppy days) & removable/stowable seats. Love the setup!

Loving the design I'm looking at going with a 24 Footer but not to sure if that's the best bet debating on converting it over into a cruiser pontoon to where it has a small enclosed space also with the patio to enjoy on both the front and in the back I'm thinking about doing it this way so that I don't have to invest in a houseboat which really adds an extra expense when you just really want to enjoy the outdoors. Doing this you have that ability with the cruiser pontoon structure. I'm looking to purchase the Pontoon for 1000 or 1500 with no interior and the possibility of no motor being that they don't have the title for the motor and I don't want to get into the issue with purchasing something without the title. Now the trailer is just like yours the only problem with that is,.. it is coming with a bill of sale and a Tx 143 form due to the fact they say they can't find the title. So If I can get some feedback on that that be great thanks.
I would solar panel the top of the cover and add some more deep cycle batteries because one can never have too much reserve DC power on a boat . I have a 47' Houseboat here in Nor Cal . I have 1500 w of solar panel that maintains a total of 1530 AH worth of 12v DC power. Which is more than I should ever need in any type of situation. I also have a 3500 w gas powered Honda generator that I have actually never had to use.
