In this video I will be showing you how to fix it when you get a message showing you that the encryption was unsuccessful and that you should factory reset your phone to fix it.

Samuel, you saved me from downloading official firmware and flashing it. I tried your technique, mine was showing 0 bytes I changed from EXT4 to EXT2 and then again to EXT4, suddenly it started showing me the size and when i rebooted it worked. Thanks Pal

Hi, it looks like this is able to fix the problem but not for me.
I have (or I was having) CWM recovery mode but something went wrong and I lost it. That means I can't get to it.
So is it possible to install it or TWRP mode the problem solver??
I would like to let you know that I have tried to use Odin but my pc did not recognize my device even though drivers are installed, maybe it's because that the debugging mode is not activated.

thank you, it works on my OP 3T. For 3T users, after you flash rom and reboot, if your phone says encryption unsuccessful again, just click the reset phone button. Your phone will be rebooted into the rom you installed but your data will be wiped, at least you get to use your phone again...

hi it worked for me, i just changed data partition to fat filesystem and then back to ext4 and rebooted. System installed its all aplications and booted normally.

What ext type did lineage used on you because I tried ext 4 and it didn't work and my friend told me it could only be ext 4 because the other ones aren't used

@@deanellelopez3171 in order to do that you would need to flash twrp image file in "fastboot mode" using fastboot commands from a laptop or pc

it didn't work for me... I installed Lineage 14.1 and the ''encryption successful'' problem appears.
Checked my Data, Cache, and System and they aren't showing 0mb, they are showing number like they should be.. but still the problem go on.

Мало ли здесь появится кто из снг комьюнити, но, черт возьми, даже на 4pda нет инфы адекватной как это фиксить.
Вкратце нужно переформатировать сломанный раздел в FAT потом обратно в ext4.
Мне помогло на galaxy s3.

Есть, причем много подобной инфы. Но вот как включить шифрование, но при этом оставить доступ twrp к data, только обрывки которые не работают

Hey bro i tried ext4 on my s3 crdroid rom but it says unable to mount data....then i tried fat it says succesful....then i restarted my device but again im getting encryption unsuccesful...reset phone option.....plz help
did you try ext4 on data? fat may not work and so I would try ext3 or exfat, as well. do you get any other mounting problems?

Another thing we need to do is "Format Data" this is an option in twrp . Without this step, this issue could appear again

yes but make sure to have a spare rom with you to flash afterwards as you will delete the OS in doing so

hannah dizon if you use something like mobilego or some backup software then you can restore afterwards but unfortunately when you format something it deletes all data. You don't have to delete data beforehand but I would definitely recommend it. Sorry about this
Anyway to get TWRP for Cat MIL Spec mobile?
On the twrp website they have the CAT B15q but that's it I'm afraid. If you try searching your phone and add twrp at the end that would be your best bet but do keep in mind that it would be unofficial.

To do so without losing files you will need to boot into your recovery and then simply transfer across the main files to do with music, photos, videos or anything else important that you have on there. It is actually quite easy to do as your phone appears to be normal according to the computer
Might be helpful to some of you, if it says encryption unsuccessfull even after this, change data back to ext4. Encryption can't handle FAT it seems

Are you sure you did the formatting in the right order, your situation can happen if you didn't do so

you should still be able to install twrp if you boot into fastboot

what if you dont have twrp recovery on your phone? Also when I go to recovery mode all that happens is it shows a dead android nothing else?
you should still be able to install it. yes, you will need twrp, at least you know how to get into the recovery which is a good start
you wouldnt happen to know what version of twrp recovery I would need or have a link for it. I have a CASIO G'z C811 from verzion.

Shit, I don't know what went wrong... changing partition type worked, I was already quite happy... but after reboot, TWRP wrote something on /sdcard and after another reboot, my phone made a factory reset. So data lost :-( Damnit.

Ve a limpiar. Limpieza avanzada. Selecciona datos, cambia el sistema de archivos y selecciona ext4. Si esto no funciona, entonces ve por qué. Si es porque algo no está montando, intente formatearlos primero. Si está fallando, intente con un formato diferente como exfat o fat. Repita para el caché y el sistema (en ese orden) solo si todos sus valores son 0mb
