The only thing i wish for Tom, beyond his own independent success is that one day he gets to feel his fans love in a Stadium concert. Like 100k fans singing his songs back to him. The one thing Independent artist seem to not have. The appropriate recognition and face to face love from the fans.
You guys are literally the most genuine, sweet, insightful and transparently emotion displaying reactors I've ever seen.
I'm an empath, and you guys put so much of your emotions on display and in your eyes that my eyes well up every time I see either of you FEELING a song because I can feel your emotions through the screen. Same when you are experiencing happiness or excitement in a reaction, I literally can't help but feel the same.
It's a pure joy to watch you react to music/art, and I am so glad you're doing this

The day they went to film at the plane crash location they were battling 40mph sand storms. The colored smoke disguises the fact that he was being pelted with sand for hours on end. Given that the song is about scars and flaws.... the "not perfect" is absolutely perfect.
Every time I hear someone say "Tom only know controversy" I know they have no idea who Tom MacDonald is. He is a beautiful human. His tracks are my tattoos. Metaphorically for now, but I have every intention of inking my blank canvas with lyrics from him that light up the darkness in my mind and inspire me to battle my own demons.
Half the reactors I've watched couldn't hold back from singing along with the hook. I look forward to being one of the thousands of voices singing it at a live show.

This video and your discussion helped me understand my husband better. I call him "my painted man" because he has so many tattoos. I have none so I didn't understand his need for them. He did 30 years in the Army and Marines, went to war 3 times and did things that still give him nightmares every night, and grew up hard in inner city Chicago. My entire life has been different from his, so it seems like we come from different planets sometimes. Tattoos are a therapy for some people. That point gave me a lot to consider. Thank you.
Y’all are my favorite reaction channel now. I’ve watched y’all’s Tom and falling in reverse reactions but after the last Falling In Reverse song and this song, it just solidified y’all are my number one. Y’all are so in the moment as you’re listening and you can even see on your face that they are true emotions. then y’all are so open and real and honest when you’re talking about the song and how you give examples of how it relates to you and how it makes you feel. I love that y’all are not afraid to pause and to talk about what you’re seeing and hearing and How it’s making you feel. You don’t seem worried about what people will think of your pausing or of your talking which I love. you just do you. Don’t ever stop y’all are awesome.
Very much appreciate the love. We do talk and pause, but we try and make it quick. Most ppl on here are very positive about the small breakdowns we do during. I also try and make sure videos don't go much past a 15-20 minute mark depending on song length.
And to add to that, is we are very much music motivated. Music is my only outlet for any emotion I have and it's the same for Kyle. We never want to be fake or a gimmick. We just are us.
Wish they would dive into the other songs on The Brave.

Yay so glad you guys did this one! I came straight to your channel when I woke up looking for this! Man. This song. I was not expecting this sound from Tom AT ALL. Country is my least favorite genre but I freaking love this song! I just love how he is able to make a song that so many people can relate to for different reasons. I have a tattoo on my arm in memory of my big sister who was murdered last year. This song just straight broke me down yesterday. I use music as my therapy and I really needed this song. First time watching y'all reaction loved it. Thank you for reacting to Tom he suck a versatile artist. One of my favorite track from his is off his CD called Hulk Hogan.
1 year late to seeing this reaction of yours, but this is the song that made me fall for Tom..... admittedly, only after i spent a solid 2 hours bawling like a baby in my chair first with this song playing on repeat. 😭
It was also the FIRST song of his i ever heard. I had stumbled onto him due to a tweet by a person named Tim Pool who was pushing Tom's new (at the time) Track RIOT that the billboards were trying to suppress. In searching for RIOT to see if he was someone i wanted to support, i saw the thumbnail for Scars... listened to it first, then became a wet puddle of tears as quite a few years of held in.... things.... found an outlet.
I was raised in the "men don't cry" days.... so i tend to automatically bottle things up inside. But that doesn't mean we don't feel.. we simply don't show it, and what we don't show gets bottled up inside instead.
Between 14-18, i had a sudden issue with both my lungs. Long story short, it resulted in 6 random lung collapses, that alternated right to left, one of which nearly killed me in my sleep. As well as 2 chest surgeries, one of which was essentially an open-heart style, but it was my lungs they were working on.
Nature tried to kill while i was awake and moving, then tried again to kill me in my sleep (the worst of the lung collapses, 80% collapse, happened in my sleep), but i was to stubborn to lay there and die. Then just before the 2nd surgery, my own mind tried to kill me as i had gotten so tired of fighting, but my stubbornness, and loyalty to my family/friends (because leaving would hurt them and that went against my vary being), again kept me from falling.
I only have one tattoo on my arm, its a wolf howling at a moon, but its my "im tougher than you can imagine" badge that reminds me of what ive survived.
This song has become one of my "venting" triggers, that lets me 'release' whats bottled up.

I think Tom's lyrics stand out from other artists because his words have multiple meanings. Very much like Dax his bars constantly have like three layers of interpretation. These artists are on a whole different level then mainstream label artists. Keep rocking that Apple juice 😂

Not gonna lie I could listen to Kyle talk for actual hours. On the main point though, I love your reactions and Tom is a real one for sure. #HOG brought me to your channel but you guys keep me around.
Also, for Tom's other songs you should check out (in no particular order) I Wish, Church, I Can't Sleep, Best Rapper Ever, I Don't Drink, Ashes (Kyle will like this one), Boom Bap, and Withdrawls ...honestly there's so much more but these are a good jump off for his other types of music.

I haven't been a fan for more than a day, so forgive me if I mention a song you've already reacted to, my dude Kyle has no doubt heard it, but your clarity of thought and commentary would definitely be appropriate. It's a heavy song and a lot of people actually won't react to it because of the intense nature of the song. Daddy by Korn. It's very real, and honest in it's production, Johnathon Davis actually admits that everything he says, does during was an honest emotional description of how he was feeling, they just left it recording. But, with truthful journeys artists take being something that seems to be so accepted here (especially, raw vulnerability shared in male artists) I find it would be a great addition. Ya know, there seems to be a social construct that has a pretense saying the men in our community shouldn't be raw and vulnerable and truthful in their weaknesses and you guys actually celebrating them and seeing the strength it can give a person is very powerful. It's a wonderful thing. Good job, guys.

Another good Tom song that has a completely different vibe then his other songs is “No Good Bastards”…it’s a fairly heavy rock song (looking at you Kyle😉😂)
In Discord, I asked Tom if he was talking about physical and mental scars, and he said, "Indeed," and I think one thing he was talking about was that major crash. Also, he was a wrestler, and he has said before that he had to stop for political crap and injuries. He worked in the oil fields in AK too. He's an alcoholic and addict, so there may have been marks. People said they liked the country vibe, and he said, "There's nothing wrong with some twang," lol. In Nova's story, she said they were battling 40 mph winds. The smoke is actually sand, and they were getting pelted. Ugh. Tom said he's gonna put up some pictures. #hangovergang
