    Greetings Jack, I have just come across your channel, June 24, and I love it. Your enthusiasm is catching please do not change even if the rivet counters rear their ugly heads. Just keep on the way you are. Your ‘model scene’ is yours and no one tells you what to do unless you ask them. It is so refreshing to take in what you present us with keep on keeping on….

I've had a few different layouts over the years and, whilst I realise I'm really lucky to have lots of space for Pringleton, I know I've had endless enjoyment from all of them. Hi Pete. Thank you so much for your kind comments. I am very lucky to have the space for Pringleton - it started with the main double track oval section and then it rapidly became clear some looooong sidings and a loco depot were needed, hence the next section (created on old wardrobe doors!) I hope you enjoy the other episodes - back with no. on Monday 13th. Thank you again 👍🚂

    Hi Pringleton Model Railway, I've just watched this with my grandson, and he's commented that he's only got a small model railway like you had back in the day. He likes your layout, he enjoys filming his model railway for his Dylington Model Railway channel, he's not doing a bad job of filming it, why not give it a watch. Anyway he's subscribed to your channel and is looking forward to watching more of your videos. ..cheers James 🙂👍

      Hi James. Thanks for the kind comment. I'm glad you and your grandson liked this first video. I've had a look at (and subscribed to) Dylington Model Railway just now. It looks like a GREAT layout - your grandson has made excellent use of the space available and created some tremendous scenic work. Well done to him. The first video I looked at was the one with the Intercity 225 (aka the class 91), which I really enjoyed. Pringleton has one of those too, and I'll be making a video on it soon. Thanks again ... now back to Dylington for me 😊👍🚂

Most of them have the comments turned off for his protection due to his age (12). However, you can comment on the Christmas video and The Accident. Or you can comment on here if you wish. Just mention the name of the video you're commenting on. Have you seen the Rock Concert and the stop-motion animation he's done. Thank you again, and we're looking forward to seeing your future videos. Thank you again...cheers James 🙂👍

      Hi again James. Yes, I've just watched "Dylington Rocks" which is very impressive. The setting for the rock concert in the castle reminds me very much of Rochester Castle down here in Kent - really good. Plus, I was delighted to see the Class 37 with MK2 carriages in action - incredibly, this looks very much like the first model train I had when I was about five or six (some 45 years ago!) 👍🚂

    • @DYLINGTONMODELRAILWAY

      @PringletonModelRailway pleased you enjoyed Dylington Rocks. We had great fun creating the scene. It must be 35 years since I was down that neck of the woods and visited Rochester Castle. I don't know how old the Class 37 is as it was given to my grandson along with the coaches by someone who'd had it stored away. I look forward to seeing yours in action... Cheers James 🙂👍

      Hello Duncan. Thank you so much for your kind comment. With the benefit of hindsight, I do wish I'd captured more videos and photos in the early days of construction. I suppose I was just enjoying myself too much! Better late than never though ... there is much construction still to come, including an industrial area and passenger train yard, plus a football stadium. Then we have work on lighting to look forward to as well. I am preparing some construction videos as well - looks out for something on how I put Mount Pringleton together in episode 4 and how I made use of dozens of lateral flow tests in episode 5! Before then, tomorrow evening (Monday 15th April) gets a good look at our Class 59. Thank you again 👍🚂

    It's a great looking layout with plenty of running options. I'm just starting my first layout and particularly like the look of the underlay the tracks sit on. Anyone have an idea of what that material is??

    • @PringletonModelRailway
      @PringletonModelRailway  4 місяці тому

      Hi Alistair. It is actually roofing felt which I purchased from Wickes for £20. This got me a mahoosive roll of the stuff which has done everything I need with loads to spare (I might even have enough to fix a roof!) Much much cheaper than the proper ballast underlay rolls and, whilst not quite as authentic as applying loose ballast after track laying, much much quicker and easier 👍🚂

      @PringletonModelRailway  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi there! Thanks for watching and for your comment. It is indeed roofing felt for the ballast underlay. Not totally authentic of course, but pretty darn good. At the time it was only £20 from Wickes for a giant roll, so super cost effective as well 👍🚂

    Looks great bud, What length are your platforms please. Im trying to work out what are i need on my layout to lay the platform. Have plenty of room so thats not a problem.

    • @PringletonModelRailway
      @PringletonModelRailway  3 місяці тому

      Hi Ken - thank you for your kind comment. The platforms are around 140cm long excepting the end ramp, other than the one by the road with the main station building - this is a little shorter because I had to cut in ramps to stop long locos and carriages fouling the platform. The 140cm allows me to comfortably handle locos with three carriages, which is nice 🚂👍
