How did the name "China" come to be 5,000 years ago? Can we uncover the first mention of "China" among the large collection of old texts and cultural relics?
Chinese President Xi Jinping made a visit to the Yin Ruins site in Anyang City, central China's Henan Province, in October last year, as his first domestic inspection trip following the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Underscoring the importance of archaeological work, Xi said the national research on tracing the origins of the Chinese civilization should continue to be deepened.
Archaeology not only answers philosophical questions like "Where did I come from?" and "Where am I going?" but also gives insights into "where China began."

In my humble opinion, President Xi is looking for the concepts of impermanence and none self. A Buddha’s teaching. Impermanence means all good and bad things, including karma are not changing constantly. Bad behaviors yielded tragic consequences and good behaviors, kindness and caring will bring about good and desirable results. Studying history will shed more light on this concept. Therefore the Chinese nation should treasured their history and past (both good and bad). Hardships are the best teacher of morality in anyone, especially for a nation. As for the concept of none self, it means that we can’t own it either good or bad, winning or losing. Trying to own prosperity, tremendous sufferings will come when those precious moments or things are gone. Of course, all bad actions of the past are in the past (all are forgiven). We need not be burdened by them. That’s what ignorant people do. Once one is no longer being an ignorant, no one can force him to be ignorant ever again. We just need to focus on improving ourselves for the betterment of ourselves and others. How else can we improve ourselves if everything is predestined or God’s will. If we don’t study for our test G next week, don’t worry, we will never past that test. If we study for it, don’t worry, we will pass it with flying colors. It boiled down to, we must live our lives as best at this moment as we could. That’s the only time we have some control over our destiny, good karma and prosperity. Our history are the lessons we can bring home for ourselves, our children and our nation. Good fortune to you all.
