When we (i.e. my wife and I) made a vacation in Chamonix, Summer 2018, we took also the TMB for a short hike to the Refuge des Rognes, but we have had to take the train from Bellevue (Les Houches), because Saint Gervais wasn't in our pass area. Now, thanks to you, I saw that part of the way too. Thank you again!

Despite not reaching great heights, the road offers great views to the very high mountains around. Done also once the section from Chamonix to the motorway, but in the other direction. Thanks for sharing this drive, greetings from a fellow roadtripper and creator from Germany!
Speaking of my previous comment, why not do this drive again, but from he Olympic Stadium in Chamonix to the Olympic Stadium in Albertville, especially since both cities hosted the Winter Olympics, which start on February 3, which is 11 days from now as of when I'm making this comment?

Speaking of which, you could use the Olympics as a road map for any potential North American tour you may do (Los Angeles - Squaw Valley - Vancouver - Calgary - Montreal - Lake Placid - Atlanta - Mexico City - (Denver*)- Salt Lake City - Los Angeles)? * -- The 1976 Winter Olympics were originally awarded to Denver. It's the only case so far where a city that was awarded the Olympics wasn't able to put them on, although it would've happened to Mexico City in 1968 if the IOC's back-up city for those Summer Olympics hadn't been set ablaze the previous year: The IOC seriously considered moving the 1968 Summer Olympics to another city, and the back-up city they picked? DETROIT.)
