@@rattyeelysame! i don't make my own music yet but neils music is some of favorite to sing along to because his vocals are imperfect but always ALWAYS make for the most perfect and crazy and enjoyable and beautiful songs. reminds me of johnny cash, cuz his vocals were imperfect too but his music far outclasses plenty of "more perfect" music. there's lots of ways to be talented and neils music has really gotten me to appreciate the less polished things in life over the past several years. feels good to cut loose and just belt out the lyrics in the biggest, loudest voice ive got without worrying about staying perfectly in tune!

i remember it being that way for a few of the other songs in the full acapella versions of them (or maybe just spiral and ants and touch-tone telephone)
he probably had already made the instrumentals and played them as he was singing over them to stay on beat/key (idk why he didn't just use headphones though lol)
@@pixeliien Well I remember in a commentary track for one of his albums (can't recall which), he said recording quiet vocals were hard cause of all the sound he has to get really close to the mic to record them, so his microphone could have picked up audio from his headphones if he was close enough- its happened to me before
