#2xko #projectl #riotgames - Ігри
The way riot doesn't ask the creators anything, just "hey wanna play this?" Gives me a ton of hope
Funniest setup I've seen was Justin Wong's Illaoi/Ekko DHC setup cancelling Illaoi's S2 into Ekko's S2. Having Ekko with the perma-clone covered by the super-tentacles is hilarious.
horror movie in a fighting game
mvc ass setup lmao
(1) As soon as I heard you were playing the game, I knew we were getting the best breakdown of this game, thank you for going into so much depth. (2) I see so many influences in this game: KoF, MvC, and Guilt Gear Strive stand out the most (and it has a lot of anime fighter elements in general). It is awesome seeing a Western dev put this much time and thought into the development of a fighting game. (3) I think this game is going to be massive for the FGC as Riot has incredible crossover with the LoL IP. With the easy to learn, hard to master philosophy this game should have a huge player base.
Good to have a new hyper tag fighter after dbfz and mvci. And the devs I trust since they run evo and play fighting games and competed in them.
@@DavimonVtube I never played MVCI, but I am also excited to see what Eighting does with Hunter x Hunter. But I have really wanted a high budget and fully featured tag fighter. If they can manage balance (and it seems like they can with all of the public pre-alpha stuff they are doing) this could be something special.
@@michaelcarrig627 oh yeah the hunter x hunter should be fun to.
It's crazy how promising 2XKO has looked so far. The stuff we've seen looks great, everyone who I've watched who's had hands on experience has been super positive on it. As Broski put it having easy to execute moves with a lot of versatility is a great design choice to attract new players whilst having sick looking gameplay at high level. This game is going to be HUGE for fighting games. The only thing I'm worried about is actually having the hardware and internet connection when it comes out because I want to be there for this game on DAY ONE.
@DavimonVtube they also made a game previous to this one with a sinikar system for inputs and philosophy that was well received, I think they actually stopped development on it but I guess this is the revival to an extent
I do like how the wavedash animation looks like they run.
3:30 I think that Riot has said this game will be free to play with monetization through skins. It’s how they’ve done all their other games.
Just as a confirmation yes they did say that
But their other games have monetized characters as well. So this one will just be skins or will be sort of F2P Granblue?
@@lachryphagous I used to play League for a while. you get champions using in game currency that you can get for free just by playing the game. you can pay for it, but it isn’t necessary at all. getting all the ~170 champions for free can take a few years but getting the 10-15 that you enjoy doesn’t take too long. They have a rotating free champions list of 25 champions that you can play in ranked or practice tool so you can see if you like the character before you get them. My brother plays Valorant and has almost all 25 characters after playing for less than a year.
@@lachryphagousit will be like league or val, i think
character free? doesn't league buy characyer to unlock?
I've watched quite a few 2xko breakdown vids so far but as usual Broski's is the best and most clear. Thanks
I’M SO happy you mentioned his special animation for level 2! I saw that at evo and never saw footage of it since.
"reinvested the depth in different places" sounds like valorant compared to csgo when i think of ability usage and team composition being more emphasized over movement and spray control
Which broke the entire gameplay loop in Valorant and made competitive play extremely toxic and less nuanced. Not having universal utility put too much pressure on single players, means if you were playing a certain character you had to play a certain way as getting picked could mean a damn near auto loss, and made it so if you didn't have a proper team comp the entire game feels like an uphill battle.
Valorant is one of the worst designed shooters I have played in recent years, its map design in particular is really stinky. No fucking idea how that game has managed to be as popular as it is. Its legitimately a terrible game.
@@bio0link Cool rant but the amount of that diatribe that applies to 2XKO is basically nil. 2XKO is at most a duo and a lot of people will be playing solo and both characters.
Fighting games arent super popular these days so lowing the skill floor while keeping the skill ceiling is a lot better for the average player than old school fighting games, where if you couldnt do 1-2 frame links you couldnt do the combos. Just being unable to execute what you want to do kills new players, making the game more about when and not if opens the door to more players.
@@bio0link None of that is true though. Valorant is still a shooter first and foremost and until you get to a very high level shooting skill will win out over all other aspects. Hell, the community even agrees that you can have a terrible comp and still win as long as you just outshoot and outthink your opponents. It's not like overwatch.
It sounds like you've only played a few hours of the game if any at all. Valorant is popular because it's a fun game.
Valorante Child game
@@bio0link dude you have negative comments on every game broski plays
This game actually seems so cool. I thought this game was gonna be shallow and simple, but it only seems simple on the surface and hides great complexity within. What a cool game. If its free to play I'll definitely play it. If it costs money I'll still consider it if the reception is good.
it is free to play
Funny how watching high level 2XKO is like watching a pro teamfight in League when you aren't familiar with the game. Looks like just indecipherable mess of effects and colors happening on screen but (just assuming this for 2XKO) becomes mostly clear when you are familiar with the game.
Thanks for this dude, great vid.
Okay, the high level gameplay is easily the best I've seen so far. I'm getting sold on it ngl
This game really isn't for me, but it's good to have a new competitor to the space and F2P could be huge. We need more people playing fighting games!
Great video Broski, really appreicate the insight here.
Damn, you got to play it too?
@@sloesty He didn't call it trash without playing it, he said it's not for him. If the IP and character designs do absolutely nothing for you, you don't have to play it to make that assumption. I was never interested in trying Granblue or DNF Duel because the IPs and roster couldn't be less appealing to me.
can't wait for the nutty zoner caitlyn will be
its cool broski i dont think we need to buy copies of a free game hasga
There is so much attention to detail to these characters and mechanics.
That wavedash animation is such a small thing but is HUGE in my book because it shows that they're thinking about everything and trying their best to make the best fighting game they can.
Now we're at the point where I'm just excited to see who they add next. Their implementation of a characters "playstyle" from the OG game has been awesome to see.
I'm HOPING for Rengar, gimme my jumpy knife cat!
I am now a believer in 2xko, just need to see the roster now
It makes sense to those who played marvel vs capcom infinite or power Rangers bftg
The one thing I've always been impressed with riot for is that all of their games require somewhat of a time investment to get into it in the first place. You really can't jump into league or valorant with no prior knowledge or practice and have a good time
Can't wait for the betas that they say will give at home sooner or later this game looks fun to play and can't wait. I love riot characters and the devs that are making the game I trust them. I pretty much like all fighting games besides NRS.
Broski do you have an editor?
Looks good imma still call it DOUBLE K .O
I am and want to be excited for this game, I just want to see a lot more characters.
Yeah waiting for the characters is gonna be a while. Since they have a huge list to choose from. Waiting for Sett, Vi, and Nasus for me.
@@DavimonVtube looked em up they all look dope. Ima need Shen to be in this I'm always about the ninjas lol
@@DavimonVtubeadd lee sin to that list
53:42 i can't imagine that feels good
2XKO is upgrade version of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue
Yes the vid dropped
There are auto combos with one of the fuses you can select
Illaoi sounds like some fucked up child of ramlethal and susanoo blazblue
Echo reminds me of Robin in Injustice 2
I love tenticals...yum...
is there anything you can do while playing with a friend that you cant do alone? that's the only thing i wanna know
No. In general playing with a friend in duo mode will just be strictly harder, as you have to rely on another person knowing when you want tags, breaks, etc.
@@aberrance6706 and thats why they should give an "advantage" to people taking the stole of playing in duo.
Good ol TUKKO
It was a shame my novice friends to fighting games saw that this game had simplified inputs and thought it would be a baby game. I so look forward to riots attempts at redefining the game play, since I got into league and hate it now Im actually looking forward to this game. *give me sett on release please*.
Im excited. And even if I dont like it its f2p!
This looks interesting
illaoi top 1
The size of the characters on the map is too large. Darius swinging at you covers half the screen with all the hit effects
as if lol players where not enough toxic they ll give them a fighting game full of crazy offensive moves and combinations that would make anyone blow a fuse defending against it.
55:45 "2²KO"
You should just comb through the 170 ish character league roster and see who you’d like in the game
where are the grapplers man
Probably sett will be
@@joseehumbertoohis level 2 better be the sickest looking chokeslam in gaming
Looks cool! Shame 2xko is still the worst name for a video game ever created.
It's probably not going to be for me, but I can appreciate all the clever designs. Especially things like the partner being able to use Illaoi's tentacles after she tags out is cool.
samsho gets 120fps on xbox btw lol
Man I get why people enjoy tag fighters but I'm so turned off by them nowadays. I hope people enjoy it though. The game looks good.
why ekkos transition into walking and standing so jank?
yo
Here's my biggest question - does it use Vanguard anti-cheat? Cause if so, I'm not even downloading the game.
You wont hear that answer until release
@@fettibomba4504 You're probably right, sadly.
i really hope they tone down the visual noise a bit. like the big ass dust clouds for when characters jump/dash or whatever seem completely unnecessary
visual noise is part of a tag fighter. Half the appeal of things like Piccolo's hellzone grenade is the noise.
You can make the graphics very minimalistic in LoL, I imagine it will be the same with this game.
Way too much going on during the real match. i kept losing track of which character was being controlled and which one was the assist.
Bruuuh no motion inputs? I had no idea... not sure how I feel about that
The HxH tag fighter seems to be the same way from what I hear.
@@SleepinJimmy Yeah, I can see it if some devs want to explore it more with newer games but I also hope it doesn't become a genre wide trend in the future.
Gonna be like MK1
@@Nyagro Yeah SF6 has been slowly removing charge inputs from some characters, mashing inputs are gone, I'm kinda sad about it
@@rundown132 MK1 doesn't have one button specials
"this is not me saying go out and buy a copy" bro it'll be free 2 play.
I feel like this is the third time i watched this and i said it was the second last time
Weird
Mess of colors
Have you played a tag fighter? It's kind of natural when you got characters doing shit all the time
And that's a big negative for me, especially as an esports watch, as I can't tell what's happening on screen most of the time.😅
Yes, as most tag fighters
Is it me or does the raw footage look like the brightness is set way down
He mentions at 2:15 how the footage came out darker than how it looked
The game probably runs with HDR in events but it doesn't come through in the recordings something they need to fix.
Bunch of salty hard stuck silver players on league hating on this b c it's riot lmfao.....i played it at evo last year and had a blast
This is Lisan Al game
The one thing I don't like about this game without playing it is the lack of weight behind attacks. it just looks bad
If Riot really thought this game would succeed, they would have named it Project W
2XKBlow
game is DoA, its a f2p riot game bro, dont be stupid
I'm worried about the auto combo system, especially for new players. DBFZ had something similar and it eventually turned me away from the game. I almost left behind fighting games in it's entirety thinking it wasn't for me.
Thankfully I tried Strive and then it clicked, now I love FG's (currently T8)
But everything I'm seeing from 2XKO is making me very worried ngl, it's like they made all the wrong decisions.
Tag team eye cancer anime fighting. No thx
Go back playing rush fighter 6
So, Illoai has a semi-charmed octopus life :) 🪳
So weird how the name of the game is 2XKO. literally implying and referencing the 2v2 nature of the game, and the main marketing scheme as a whole (2players vs 2players). And that's the main mode even for online too
BUT putting it into the competitive crowd so far, I've only seen them do 1v1 (as in both characters on one side is controlled by a single player rather than two players each side)
Like really? the game was supposed to be different with the team play as the main interesting mechanic, and yet I can't help but feel that many of the fgc seems to be wanting to stick to the traditional way of 1v1
Thus, I feel like once the game is out. There's gonna be large disconnect with the marketing promoting 2v2, the general playerbase (casuals and online) playing 2v2 predominantly, and then the fgc (competitive) that wants to remain 1v1 with 2v2 only being a side event or something
You're overthinking it. Even when you're playing "1v1" each player has two characters.
@@mononaut hmm.. I disagree on overthinking. Tho tbf, you're right in the end everything I'm saying could be rendered moot once it actually comes out.
But I would press to disagree considering that team play is one of the main advertisements of this game. At least trust when I say playing 2 players on each team compared to each player controlling both characters is very different. I just don't understand how they'll get new players playing the predominantly marketed mode (2v2) be able to engage/be interested in the fgc aspect (side note: I believe was one of goals of the devs in charge for making the game) esp tournaments/events, which I feel is the life blood of any fighting game, if what they'll see in tournaments promoting another mode different from the main one
That equivalent would prob be like say in league of legends having the main mode with the 5v5 normal big map as the marketed mode and the mode most people play. But then tournaments and events largely only do 5v5 map but only middle lane and random heroes mode
I do think 2v2 will be the main competitive mode or at least riot will push for that. I have definitely seen some pros playing 2v2 and it seems fun.@@reklom2334
Well for one... There are no pro players yet, so idk what you are talking about. For two, there is plenty of 2v2 footage out there...
@@sloesty most fgc players hop from game to game. So all the pro player names you see usually intersect. So the pros in other fighting games you see now will likely crossing over to this one. Esp the ones who post videos about it. To say there aren't would be weird bc it doesn't have to be exclusively from just 2xko.
I didn't say there weren't any videos of 2v2. So idk where you are drawing that. I said that largely from my experience a lot of fgc pros who showcase footage or give feedback come from the perspective of wanting to play 1v1. Which is if indication, might lead to tourneys holding 1v1 as the main event. (Again I've admitted that in the future I might be proven wrong but I haven't seen the case to be made yet. So I'm writing my concern as to possibly bring awareness.) Idk about you but I find it healthy to have discourse
Maybe I'm wrong and if so please correct me. But say in this video, was there feedback/discussion or even footage from the perspective of having a 2v2 match? (Not that it is wrong if they wanna talk about 1v1, but just highlighting the trend. Bc if the 2xko devs really want to pursue the goal theyve stated. This is a potential roadblock)
No incoming, so this game sucks
well it's only 2 characters so it can't. unless a certain character or mechanic can knock a team member out.
Worst take I've heard for sure.
I really dislike the exclusion of motion inputs, it loses a lot of the bite that learning normal fighting games has.
Sleeper opinion tbh
Cold take
@@ThePoodlenot a sleeper opinions there's multiple people saying it lmao
have you played dnf duel, it still feels like a fighting game just no motions, also tekken for the most part is motionless
These the same people that are silver in sf6 btw
this game has terrible animations from idle stance to movement.
No
U dont know what youre talking about.
Explain it 4 us then mr. Animator
@@neon-lake so you claim i dont know what im talking about yet ask me to explain it? There are no transitional animation frames from idle stance to walking 1:52 you can see the character idle to moving back and foward with no transition animations shit looks terrible. Almost like playing online and having rollback frames lag up.
Yes, I ask u to explain yourself so as to properly break it down and make sure everyone's on the same page. These days zoomers get triggered if it aint 200fps AI interpolated garbo. At least have consideration 4 other things like gameplay & responsiveness.
There is no transition at all because they prioritize gameplay. What transition animation can u create that's 1 frame long? There isnt, the instant u press forward they want u moving forward on the same/very next frame, accuracy and speed is the priority no build up of speed ultra responsive. If it was a realistic physics sim, u might have a point. But realistic physics doesn't invalidate design choices(arcadey or not) or mean its outdated.
U best start complaining about the majority of fighting games then, this is a genre where cancelling animations is a core mechanic. U only noticed this one coz the walk animation is different going forward and back. Street fighter, MvC, Guilty Gear go look through them all. Quickly shimmy back and fourth and rate the "transition" the pose might be the same but the legs give it away. They're all instant or close to it.
Not just fighting games either look at Hollow Knight, Celeste, Megaman Zero or any other arcadey platformers.
U don't have to like it but at least see your criticisms r surface level without considering the package as a whole. So no, one frame transitions is not enough to rate everything as "bad" the have nothing to do with the individual animations themselvss. Youre welcome to eloborate or give a different arguement
I'm sure theres at least 1 fighter out there with the slowdown, friction then speed build up you're looking for
@@neon-lake😂nice blog
Thanks 😂 had time on the bus
I really have zero hope for this game. I think the barrier to entry is too high for non-fgc just from being frontloaded a lot of mechanics and really fails to justify the simple input structure.
. The mass appeal and budget that's backing 2xko, coupled with LoL being like the only successful esport. There's a good chance it does well but if not, there's kinda no hope for any new fighting game ip to do well. At least with an actual budget above an indie game.
I think with tekken 8 and sf6 being received so well and imo being pretty fun to watch, 2xko can capitalize on a lot here n I hope it does just for the sake of fgc viewership in general. I've never played a tag fighter but they r pretty hype to watch
Doomer
I just can't deal with long combos. 😅
it'll make some happy at least!
Maybe it's still fun as a buttons masher kind of games, for the casual audience. That could define its commercial success.
I'm just not interested in this game at all... I don't like tag fighters, I don't like simple inputs, I don't like Riots design philosophy in any of their games. This is like my kryptonite in fighting game form....
yeah your screwed. Tag fighters are some of the hype ones of fighting games even though I only like a few like dbfz and tvc. I like riot so idk. and simple inputs don't bother me.
@@DavimonVtube Yea its just not a game I think I'm going to enjoy unless they add 2 characters I really really like the look of and play style of. And in league when I used to play It I played very specific types of characters and I can't imagine them translating to a fighting game in a way I would like.
I like big body grapplers and I'm struggling to think of a league character who would fit that bill that I like. The only grappler based character in League I can think of is Sett and I don't really like Sett. I like characters like Sion, Voli, Mundo, Cho... The more monster characters not the pretty anime boys.
This is a game for infantiles and manchildren. Adequate adults and just sane people over 18 should stay away from this horror
The no motion inputs is the only tragic thing so far.
@twice2005y not really. It seems pretty similar to Marcel and I wouldnt call Marvelba baby game. Even if its like BFTG tyat game was deeper than people gave it credit for. Imo with games like this your gonna have to play it because if you don't play tag games it's not gonna make sense
If you have any self respect, don't play Riot/Tencent games.

This game looks like your average soulless riot crap. Only reason people are gonna play it is money. Somehow even Valorant, a carbon copy of CS, looks more inspired. Hard pass.

You're cooking but please dont give valorant any credit 🤮🤢
You're wrong, but you're allowed your wrong opinion.

i agree, idk why they went for the anime graphics, it looked better in early development, it all looks so souless, the art, the music, the voice acting, just another riot product, but who wouldve guessed, they literally fired every talented person from the company
