I was very impressed with Dhobi ghat. One of the best movies I have seen. Rewatched it on Netflix last year and liked it even more. And yeah, it is a love letter to the city : Bombay.
I still remember I was with nearly 4 people in theater which made the film more serene. No distraction, nothing. It will be another unsung gem of Indian film history.
Great interview! Loved the shout out to Sai Paranjpye - one of my favourite filmmakers as well. :) Hoping that the situation improves soon for Indian filmmakers with diverse perspectives and approaches to storytelling. It would be nice to see Anamika Haksar on your podcast if possible.
I hope she starts making films more often and I hope this film helps female directors get more backing in the industry. Even today most of the prominent female directors we have are supported by their families or they would not get much of a chance. Zoya Akhtar, Kiran Rao, Konkona Sen Sharma, even Farah Khan had to rely heavily on the support of SRK to make films even though she is a top choreographer.
Mere bhai bollywood sirf small budget movies acha banata h and big budget movies mostly kachra hoti h Masala action movies k liye ye log south filmmakers k pas jate h kyuki bollywood k pas ak bhi action filmmakers nhi bache h
Anurag bhai, I hope to see you as a film director soon.
Her hair..😭🤌🏽

She’s so interesting, I had not watched her interviews before.
Damn, congrats, finally you are getting interviews with filmmakers, this will certainly enhance your reach. Keep up with the good work!:)
Love your line of questioning. Keeps the listener equally into the conversation. Would like to work with you on some stories in the future.

Great questions and great listening skills make great interviews. All questions from Anurag were well thought out show a curious mind at work.
This was a great break down of film distributions and marketing! Loved it!
Kiran Rao ji jab bol rhi thi to Koyal ko jaln ho rhi thi ye mere se jyada achhi bol rahi hai 😆🤩
OHOHOHOHOHO what a crossover!
I had a feeling Pokhraj will be here. I found you later but found you at least
@@subinitamazumder1307 Your intuition has led you correctly 😂
@@PokhrajRoy. I mean there is some good intellectual or entertaining and quirky channel and you're not in the comments - doesn't 🙈 happen 😂

Laaptaa Ladies feels like a movie made by TVF folks, characters are caricature-ish, and the direction is mediocre
I don’t think TVF has what it takes to portray an independent Ambedkarite woman the way this movie does
@@devs2790 panchayat is far better than lapata ladies and swadesh

@@raja-jl9osit could have been but casteist undertones and city boy gaze, among other things, spoil it for me
