Really great shot, I live on 1140. Everyone is safe on that road I checked after the storm. I was wondering if someone were to have gotten the shot here.
I don't recall having seen so many multi vortex, near transparent, tornadoes being recorded and shown. I'm not as very knowledgeable about them so they may be very common. I'd heard that tornadoes had vortices around them, and occasionally I'd see one off to the side fairly high up. Of course I've seen videos of twin tornadoes, too. But it wasn't until recently that I saw a video where it was obvious, the tornado was made up of sub-vortices. You could see them. SO, I guess you could say they hand't merged or coalesced into one primary rotation. Like I say, though, I don't know much about them. Thanks for recording and posting this!
That's a very large tree that fell at 1:48. The top just dissapears and fell on my boys driveway. Some interesting scouring in the grass in that area of the yard. I'd be curious how close you felt it was to those 2 houses?
The tornado circulation was right over top of those 2 houses. This was a truncated cone shaped tornado for most of the life cycle which means large full condensation funnel up above and then smaller subvortices dancing around on the ground. That’s what caused the scouring patterns
@StasisChasing thanks for the great explanation and the awesome video. Thankfully we didn't have any structural damage, just some trees and some decent hail damage to the siding.
Why the closeups.... is that so you can better see the tornado?? For me personally it removes perspective. Anyway, keep the wipers running bud.... you got to be able to look out that window. RainX + Wipers might help but I wouldn't risk my safety relying on RainX alone.....

I second the comment about the wipers. Besides Rain-X there's a bunch of other products that would work. Great footage though
