This is gonna be the new EK hatch, mark my words. Instead of VTEC the amazing engine technology that is going to enable tuners to extract obscene amounts of power from not-so-much displacement is SKYACTIV.. I would imagine that with the european model SKYACTIV mazda2 having 15:1 compression ratio then one should be able to unlock a lot more power from the engine by messing with engine software to adjust timing & fuel burn to allow for maximum benefit from race quality fuel, in the state of tune it comes in from the factory it makes it so that lower octane fuel is safe to use by making the fuel burning process less focused than it could be.

0:50 is totally wrong, the Skyactiv generations Mazda has nothing to do with Ford.
MZR generations are the one that shared platforms with Fords.
