Great video. If you haven't already; I encourage you to research the history of this truly American dressing. Steve Henson, an African-American plumber, who just passed away in 2007, created this dressing and ultimately became so successfully that he and his wife moved to California. There he bought a Ranch and renamed it Hidden Valley Ranch (get the name?). Eventually, Mr. Henson began selling a powdered version of the dressing by mail-order at 75 cents per pack. Since, based on his ingredients, I have developed my version of his powdered dressing about 3 years ago and it's pretty close to his version. Also, interesting to note is his first commercial sales of his bottled dressing was at Cold Springs Tavern, north of Santa Barbara on state Hwy 154, an old stagecoach stop, now a Harley and other motorcycle stop (I've been there many times on my Harley). Cold Springs Tavern offers a full dining experience with exotic meats, e.g., rabbit, buffalo, duck, venison, and more. Live bands on the weekends and a full bar. Oh yeah, they have the very best Tri-tip sandwiches!!! (Sorry for the tavern plug but I've always enjoyed it there)
I am not a big cook but I absolutely love your personality and presentation. You are so real. I laughed through the whole chop part. There is not one inhibited bone in your body. Thanks for demonstrating a great recipe and being so much fun in the process. Jesus bless.
I made ranch for the first time last week. I used dried herbs. I will have to try fresh herbs. It's the first time I've had ranch dressing. I'll try your recipe.
Amy, I made this. It was outstanding❤. The second time I made it, I added some chopped bacon to it. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. And thanks Eric for being our official taster.😊
Hi Amy & Eric !!! Your Ranch Dressing looks really tasty. My family all likes Ranch. I will have to send this video to them... I have never made it Homemade. I will have to give this a try. Great Video!!!...🦋
Looks yummy! I think I will love ranch dressing (have never tasted it, since it is not available in my country. I guess I have to make it from scratch). But, allergic to dairy, I understand. But don't you have like oat, rice or soy sour cream alternatives in America? Like vegan dairy products? Or, it is just my guess, that you are lactose intolerant (since that is quite common). Don't you have lactose free dairy products in shops? Like the real deal just without the lactose (or added some substance to break down lactose or something, I don't know how they do it).
Hey Mark! I am not sure. Canning is a little difficult when it comes to dairy products. I would just make it in a small batch each time. Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it!

I think it is great that you make your own dressing it is so much better than the store bought bottled dressing.
Loved the music selection during chopping.

Awesome! I am glad that you enjoyed the recipe! Eric would love the addition of bacon! LOL!
I make my ranch by putting Alouette cheese and pickle juice in my blender- so delicious. I’ll have to try your recipe.

Thak you, Nita! I really appreciate it!
That Ranch looks Amazing! I need to make that one day.
Eric has been putting it on everything lol!!!
Looks delish. How long would this last for the way you jarred it?
How long can it be stored in the fridge. Thank you.
Have you done a Phillips past maker demonstration? I would love to see one
I’d use my mortar and pestle for the garlic!!!

I don't like ranch, but this looks like it's probably good!
It is really popular. Eric loves it for a dipping sauce. The fresh herbs are really great in it! Thanks for watching!
Can this product be preserved by canning?

I've made Ranch dressing with dried herbs. The fresh herbs look better. Although I just planted herbs, I think I have enough to make dressing.
I saw one lady mash her garlic in a mortar and pestle. I'm going to try that instead of a garlic press next time.
What’s the shelf life Amy???
Probably a week
😊
Does it usually taste sour? I bought a bottle from the supermarket and it tastes sour.
I have learned that ranch dressing is much better the next day....
Yeah the flavors have a chance to develop.
❤🤗
Thanks for watching, Debbie!
@@AmyLearnsToCook your welcome.
That’s a lot of mayo and cream 😮
That is what makes it delicious!
