my understanding is that the camshaft sensor is built into the distributor........ this same test can be done to check the Crankshaft position sensor. You'd want to backprobe the sensor at the connector. (you can use small nails, or pins) That sensor is by the crank, pretty much under the timing belt (sucks to replace) but you'd have 3 wires at the connector to test easily, check using his helpful technique in His video. ONe wire has power with key on (12+ volts probably) then check the resistance of the ground, then check the 3rd wire (signal) which should show a good signal while cranking only. I'm at this step and only seeing 2 volts on the signal, which i have to believe is NOT enough.
I just done this process other than cranking and checking the 3rd bc i dont want to throw a code but the power supply I'm getting 11.6 and the ground I'm getting 8 . Any suggestions ?
Dude oh my god you've got the best video on this topic. Im very certain im getting cam codes because im missing the ground that is on the intake manifold in this video. Is that supposed to be part of the harness because i dont see it in my car.
Hello I just buy eclipse gts 03 3.0 v6 , and it cranks but don't start , I check if the car have spark only have spark in one wire I change the distributor cap and rotor but nothing happens only have spark in one wire , any suggestions, Thank you very much
Hey man I have a 2002 eclipse GT. I came home from work and it was driving just fine. I went out the next day and it just cranks over but doesn't actually start. Do you know what this could possibly be?
My car does the same thing I have the same car a 3.0 I replaced the starter and the battery and the meter read off that the problem was a crankshaft it start and it runs but it just cuts off while in the middle of driving
Hey ...thanks for the upload. Nice job. One stipulation....in the intro or description you refer to the "electronic control module" as the "pmc". Is 'power module control' the correct wording?
Thank you I've been trying to find a damn camshaft sensor for 3 weeks now
Same way with me lol!

great video thanks, but I cant find my CAMSHAFT sensor PLEASE show me or tell me where it is! thanks!
Did you ever do a video for the Distribution Cap / Camshaft replacement?
Nope
Is the camshaft sensor behind the rotor and cap I need to change mine on can't find it

Informative video. Thank you for posting. Very well done.
Just quick so if no power supply voltage cant mean any breaks in the wires as well? or just posibbly computer problems?
