I felt the same way. If you haven't you should get a copy of the raggamuffin gospel by brennan manning (the one mr hessler based this song after his prayer). I felt like no matter what I did I would never be the perfect Christian i saw around me at church and it caused me to fall away from my faith for many years. But through reading and listening to manning I discovered that no one myself included ever will be and it doesnt matter. What matters is God loves us in such a ridiculous way that we as humans could never comprehend it. while we will never be perfect, just like a child wanting to make their parents happy, so we continue to strive to follow Gods word and live our lives as a reflection of Him. It was because of brennan manning about 4 years ago that I fell to my knees in tears and I finally understood what it really meant to be a follower of Christ, I'm a raggamuffin and I belong to God

I felt the same way. If you haven't you should get a copy of the raggamuffin gospel by brennan manning (the one mr hessler based this song after his prayer). I felt like no matter what I did I would never be the perfect Christian i saw around me at church and it caused me to fall away from my faith for many years. But through reading and listening to manning I discovered that no one myself included ever will be and it doesnt matter. What matters is God loves us in such a ridiculous way that we as humans could never comprehend it. while we will never be perfect, just like a child wanting to make their parents happy, so we continue to strive to follow Gods word and live our lives as a reflection of Him. It was because of brennan manning about 4 years ago that I fell to my knees in tears and I finally understood what it really meant to be a follower of Christ, I'm a raggamuffin and I belong to God
