Hey everybody! Sorry for the late upload, power outage put me back. Hope you enjoy this Mercedes 280SL its piimp. Check out the new vintage logo in the merch shelf ^^ I like the Mugs! Seeya Friday 🍺🍺👍🍺👌
Hey, love your work. You do some amazing stuff. Just wanted to offer an idea I think would be a great video. Back in the day, the original Hot Wheels packaging featured a car that was never made as a physical model for the time, a unique car usually called "the lost redline". Fact is, at the time, they didn't make it. Well, not too long ago, they finally made this car, which is now called the "Custom Otto". Seen it in stores and even built a Gaslands car using it as a base myself. But, I think it would be awesome for you to make the Custom Otto from the original package, a spectraflame blue with redlines version of the car, just like the classic packaging depicted. A true recreation of the Lost Redline as it were.
Man do I ever love the content you are putting out with this channel! I used to have one of those big blue totes filled with hot wheels and match box and every other brand you could imagine. Really wish my 7 year old brain could have thought to keep all of them instead of drilling them into the sand haha. Anyways good work to the both of you. Can't wait to see this channel grow even bigger
The 280sl had a single overhead cam straight six engine. The model designation was W113, sometimes referred to as the "Pagoda roof". One of the most beautiful cars Mercedes ever built.
Superb resto job on this one Austin!! I have to say, I don't usually like Redlines restorations, prefer customs and resto-mods myself, but I was rivited to the whole video. Your dedication to the prep and paint is stellar, have to admire you for that. 🙏 That was true mirror quality chrome when you were done with it. Amazing color!! Odd little car, but I can see why you like it. Great stuff, thanks for sharing, and keep on keeping on!!
I sold all my red lines not too long ago except for two. I had 29 and I sold 27. I kept the custom Volkswagen Bug and 280sl Mercedes. Mine was Olive green. It has no paint now. Now I've got to get up and see if it's got the blue windshield or the clear. Great job the cars beautiful I'm glad you guys are back. Take care.
Maybe next time you are missing a hood you could fashion one out of sheet styrene, may take a few trys. Love how the Merc turned out, restored, not just repainted, turned out fantastic Austin. ❤ it!
I really enjoy watching these videos the end result is always amazing with the before and after shots who would of thought there could be so much to learn on restoring hot wheels the work you put into doing these and showing how it’s done incredible look forward to more of your vids
A little mini auto body shop going on here. Looks great you really fixed and polished it up so nice. I can imagine playing cars with you wondering what's wrong with your Matchboxes and Hot Wheels yours going glug glug glug while mine went VAAAAAROOOOOOOMMMM.
At 0:07:43 … with a couple of clear coats, I think it would have looked truly amazing… notwithstanding your emotional bond to the Redline Green finish…
I got this casting for free at a flee market, it’s really rough, almost no paint, but covered in kid paint and with no hood, I can’t find a repo hood, but I bet I’ll figure it out and restore it in the future

You should make a molding of the hood so you can make another hood in case something happens to it.
My Uncle has been a Mercedes tech for almost 30 years now... this little MB is nicer than half of the cars he works on IRL lol
