@petah What? NO. Are you are saying that the Cultish Zealots had less range simply because they didn't have fuel resources in their base? No, that's not at all what was happening. They clearly have been refueling just fine. They specifically said that EVERY TIME, WE RAN OUT OF FUEL CHASING THE BEAST. That implies they've been refueling fully for each attempt.
And I refuse to believe that the Mercenaries would have significantly larger jetpack fuel reserves in their armor. That's stupid.

    • @erics2954
      @erics2954 Рік тому +17

@@TheDravic yes, because it’s impossible that clearly well financed mercenaries that even stole imperial resources and had that big of a fleet could possibly have better equipment (that could either allow for more fuel storage OR more efficient use of said fuel) than some random zealots who were literally in the most dangerous and hidden place possible just to try to avoid people going after them for some expensive beskar.
It’s also impossible that they could maybe refuel, but due to their situation and circumstances, ration that fuel, hence, not always filling up their jetpacks completely.
It’s also impossible that, due to all of the mandalorians at the time of the bird attack being in the process of training and exercises, that they simply are typically at a generally low level of fuel whenever the bird happens to attack them, due to wasting part of it, and not refueling every 10 seconds.

I just laughed out when Gideon was tracking Din and Grogu step by step, and next scene the Mandalorian ships just pass the bombers without those seeing them on any sensors.
It's still a mystery to me how Gideon lost everything last season, got his whole unit under New Republic supervision, and still managed in 2 episodes to build a base right under the nose of the remaining Mandalorians, refine a beskar alloy, create an entirely new unit, make a special dark trooper exo-suit, fund and research how to give force powers to clone, and actually make clones of himself with said new technology while there's an entire secret division who's supposedly doing that for the Emperor under wraps (I mean neither Kylo or Hux knew of the Emperor, and Hux's father was in the project).
I just find it so damn funny, and sad at the same time, that the dumbest parts of this season, or generally the parts I hated the most, all related back to those 3 fucking movies I want to forget even existed. We wasted an entire fucking season on pointless fillers to then rush events that ultimately tie to "the Emperor somehow returned" line we all `enjoyed` so much ...

@@Zachary_s I really don't think we have to worry about red tape; Disney is an entertainment corporation, not a governmental body. And they've already shown us ONCE (gonna be one of many times cause DeSantis is an idiot) that they're not to be trifled with. I think what happened is indeed just the that they wanted Grogu back with Din Djarin. I think it would've been better overall if this season was still short, 8 episodes, but focused on Din interacting with other Mandalorians as it did...cause Grogu was mostly kept the the sidelines anyways.
The main draw that his show has IS Din's relationship with Grogu yes, but people WERE fascinated with this new character in the pilot episode I think he could stand on his own for about episodes, then have this finale be the reunion; have Moff find and kidnap the child, you still get your nice happy ending here with Din and Grogu out in the sun in a simple yet stately house. Having the reunion be in a spin off no one is really gonna watch made no sense.
It still works if you shuffle things around so why Disney did it this way I'm not entirely sure lol. The season was still good, but not as good as season 1 or 2. In order I think I'd go season 1 2 3 lol. Which is rare for a show series usually the latter seasons get put first cause you see more development. I think what they should do now, for season 4 onward, is keep it episodic. Like how season 1 really was.

Writing has really suffered this season. Lots of lazy narrative here and plot devices that just felt awkward, unrealistic, and unnecessary. I think the most bummed I am is they really didn’t do anything cool with the Armorer. I think her backstory could have been an amazing redemption arc, where we get new Darth Maul scenes with her as Rook Kast. And how the part she played in the fall of Mandalore led her to become the Armorer. Okay with her not being the spy or villian. Just something interesting that is sooo Star Wars with Maul. Just another lost opportunity. Instead we got soooo many filler episodes that were at times very poorly written and added to plot and narrative like 0%. I love Dave Filoni and Jon F. But man so many weird episodes that went no where and seemed directionless with plot holes and believability issues. Etc. Makes me wonder if this was Kathleen Kennedy interference issue or because she wasn’t involved. Ugh. Well Ashoka looks amazing…let’s hope it is. Doh

@@jacobchandler7642 even though I agree and hope that they don’t pull off a “somehow, Moff Gideon returned”, I really liked his character and wish he would’ve been the big bad for future seasons. It would’ve been quite an entrance for Thrawn if Gideon became a major threat to the Mandalorians and New Republic, and then when Thrawn appears, he just completely wiped the floor with Gideon. Doing this would’ve kept a good character around for longer as well as instantly establishing to normie Star Wars fans who have never heard of Thrawn before, who Thrawn is and more importantly how brilliant of a strategist he is. If Gideon is alive, I could forgive it if they do this with his character; plus they arguably did leave somewhat plausible way for him to still be alive with the mech suit armor. I definitely agree though that Disney has been bringing back too many characters who should be dead. It would be good if it was done rarely and there were good explanations like when they brought back Maul, but it has gotten to the point of parody to where you can just expect it.

I definitely want all plot points resolved by the end of the entire show, but I think it's better if you give the audience more to anticipate as you build up to that finale. I am 100% on board with the Mandalorians retaking their homeworld and Moff Gideon eating dirt; the show would be dissatisfying if those things did not happen. I just think it's strange to resolve all those plot threads and give Mando and Grogu a "happily ever after" style ending when there is still more show to see. I will definitely watch Mando season 4, but I am much less excited for it than I would have been if Gideon escaped and swore revenge, or the Imperial Base was not destroyed, or something along those lines.
Do Favreau and Filoni have something even more amazing than that coming down the Mandalorian pipeline? Possibly; I would be very happy if that was the case. The last episode is very close to obi-wan level writing nonsense. Also they definitely rushed hard on last episode, in the credits art section, you can see space battle that wasn't here. Where all the space ships vanished? Yeah, you can argue Axe destroyed them with the ship, but it was unclear.
Also unclear if Gideon people have beskar or not. In one segment you can clearly see Bo pierces through armor of one of the enemies, which is kinda strange, since in almost every moment they show that this armor is very strong and it's cannot be pierced like if it's beskar, same goes for darksaber destroying. As far as i know, SW Legends never stated that hilt was made from beskar, but in "canon" it is. And properties of the material were very unclear lately, like if they did retcon some stuff.
And i can keep going for eternity, how easily Din killed the clones with one click, even though Moff should have stopped him(well, he walked away somewhere to face him.. but... never did? wtf even was this scene),
also they showed Din got captured in previous episode to be very easily resqued in this one.
Apparently there is a problem with Pedro Pascal contract stuff, inner politics, should he remove his helmet or not. And already was fired from Skeleton Crew. This is ridiculous, and definitely can be the reason why this scene happened as it is.
Overall i like this episode/and a season a lot(as a huge fan of clone wars and whole mandalorian arc that was pretty much one of the central theme for the show). But damn it's sucks very hard, that this episode could have been MUCH MUCH better. And why i must compare it to obi-wan level logic writing is very dissapointing.

  • @WhitieWu

    My thoughts during the episode:
    1. At the 3 min mark, a guard runs out and doesn't respond to gunshots until he is shot a couple times (he seems completely unfazed).
    2. Just after that, there is a fight with Mando and a couple guards and the armor differences between them is ridiculous. He headbutts the guy and that hurts him? Mando gets set on fire and is unfazed but the other guard is in pain... What?
    3. Is Grogu trying to put out an invisible fire?
    4. Getting the Mandalorians to safety sure was easy.
    5. Taking on the hero alone is a rookie villain mistake
    6. The droid floats gently downwards, lands on a ledge safely, then proceeds to get close to the edge to... scare itself?
    7. How does Axe have that much fuel that he can practically fly to space, but earlier in this same season the Mandalorians didn't have enough fuel to chase down that giant beast that had the child?
    8. So their masks allow them to breath in space? I could have sworn that when Mando was pulled down into the water in a previous episode he was basically drowning and had to be saved.
    9. Why do bad guys always shoot directly at shields?
    10. I find it funny that Grogu's robot must have a "silent mode" they snuck in because it was noisy afterwards.
    11. Why are they punching the armor so much?
    12. Sounds like Grogu is laughing while fleeing for his life.
    13. Why does it sound like Moff is a robot with the sounds he is making?
    14. Thank god Axe didn't feel the need to go down with the ship!
    15. Grogu's firebending skills are very impressive.
    16. If that was truly the end of Moff... that was lame.
    17. Glad there was so much time spent on that black blade...not.
    18. What a corny as hell, "happy" ending.

In the first season the filler episodes were good because they allow us to get to know our main cast, and also are taking place in a season where there wasn’t really a main plot line per say (the plot for episodes 4-8 is basically just keep Grogu away from baddies, which side missions can support).
In season two, the side quests became slightly more annoying but all still progressed the main plotline of “find a Jedi to train Grogu”, albeit slowly. We spend the first few episodes trying to find other Mandalorians to help our quest, resulting in a useful tip that leads to a Jedi, which leads to the capture of Grogu and our season resolution.
The issue with season three is our side quests BARELY relate to the main plotline at all, which incidentally happens to be the biggest, most ambitious, more clearly defined season plotline yet: retake Mandalore. I mean, can you even remember how fighting the pirates progressed this plot? How about meeting Lizzie and Jack Black? Sure, they’re connected because the writers force them to be, but the progression is glacial at this point and you feel it. Things happen on the screen but nothing happens in the story for 5 episodes this season.
Still enjoyed the season, but they need to focus on making sure the individual episodes match the tune of the season.

Lol, I'd say the "side-plots" were less side-plots than in the previous seasons and DIRECTLY relate to the main plotline. In the first couple episodes Din's quest both gets him back into good graces with his fellow Mandos and brings and Bo-Katan back into the mix. Then Bo-Katan (former Mandalorian Royalty) and the Watch get to know and respect one another. Then we get resolution for Pershing and see Kane set up as an Imperial Remnant spy withing the New Republic. Then they stop Gideon's plot with the pirates to distract the New Republic from what he's doing. Then we get the reunification of the Mandalorians. Sure, they had to do a side-quest before they could speak to the Nite Owls (making it the first side-plot, aside from the Pershing/Kane episode on Coruscant), but it was specifically for the purpose of furthering the plot, not for no reason at all. Then we get the Mandalorians reunited and have them retake Mandalore. What about that isn't related 🤪!?
Season 2, especially, had episodes like the one where they chill on an ice planet, take a bath and get attacked by a giant spider and it's babies. Literally nothing else happens that episode. In the next episode, it just so happens that there are more Mandalorians there, but Din had no way of being sure of that. THAT is what I'd call a side-quest.

@@SpiderboyN2Jesus Correction- the rumors of Mandos on the frog lady's planet is what convinced him to take her there in the first place, so he did have a reason to go there. Ice spiders were definitely side-quest material, and overall just amounted to "it's been a difficult road to find other mandalorians". Not a particularly necessary episode, which is reflected with that being one of the lower-rated episodes of s2.
But this season, I mean why were the pirates even a part of it??? Sure, they're Gideon's distraction, but... how? Like no one was even looking for him, no one was trying to go to Mandalore besides the Mandos, and those ragtag pirates certainly weren't going to stop the greatest warriors in the galaxy from that. The pirates weren't sent as a divisive force because they came before the two clans reunited. They were just kinda there for a cool show piece or two. Which again, I don't mind (I still enjoyed the season), but it's just more delays on what should have been a much more focused season. Pretty common complaint I heard was that the last two episodes felt like they should have been episodes 3/4 or so, and that shows.

@@j.edwards9653 that doesn't make any sense. So you wanted a super short season? You'd be complaining that it was rushed if they skipped to the last two episodes right after Bo-Katan and Din leave Mandalore after bathing in the Waters. Not to mention you'd be wondering why the Watch was on Nevarro again, and why they were suddenly tolerant of Mandos who don't follow The Way, and why Bo-Katan suddenly has the Darksaber 🙄. That would be ridiculous.

@@j.edwards9653 as for the pirates not stopping the Mandos, again, they weren't supposed to stop them they weren't even supposed to meet. Hence why Gideon was shocked that The Watch and Bo-Katan teamed up to take them down 🙄. And are you really asked why Gideon does the crap he does? Who cares beyond the fact that he's a butthole, and the pirates are also buttholes, so they both like messing with people, and that he wanted people to "look over there" and not at Mandalore. So what if it doesn't quite make sense. I doubt his clones would have worked the way he wanted them to, either, and even if they did, they'd probably just kill him, as an inferior being, anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️. The dude's kind of a nut. I’m seriously shocked AJ and Alex gave this episode such a high score. When I finished the episode I told my gf I could already see them ripping the episode apart. There were definitely good scenes but I’m with OJ at a 7/10. Too rushed and lots of goofy stuff that just didn’t do it for me. Definitely the weakest season by far. They’re really messing up by not have 10+ episodes and all of them being 1hr minimum.

Another great scene was when he showed the mandalorians the underground gardens and said “This is church yo.” But by far the best scene was when Gus said “Last chance to look at me Grogu.” before getting engulfed by the flames, truly one of the moments in Star Wars.
