Talk about first world problems! Her husband buys her a new car and she doesn't even appreciate it and then uses said car to drive to the Frigidaire dealer. Thankfully, he doesn't cave into her silliness. Most people nowadays would be thrilled to have a refrigerator last 20 years with no repairs!
Holy moly what a grotesque and specious premise for a plot... i hope ppl were offended at the time too... i still watched tho cuz i love seeing “the olden days” 😉
Nina Boyce I doubt it. People were too busy trying to make a living back then. Plus I imagine you were considered weak if you got offended and all butt hurt over words... My mother taught me a simple saying when I was a child that goes like this "sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me" nowadays I think the politically correct type of people go out of their way to get offended so they can play the victim... it's ridiculous... it's time to give Elmer Fudd his gun back and let Aunt Jemima sell maple syrup again
Why x and y generations watch stuff like this. It was hard times. Videos like this romancing this area. Most woman was force to marry for money not love, men beat women more, no child abusive laws, no animal rights laws, disability and sick was put in asylums and abused, racism, and woman had no rights. Negative problems bring future positive change.
People that think everything back then was horrible are just as clueless as those who romanticize it. There was good and bad just like today. People did not marry for love? My mother and grandmother would argue with that. All women got beat? My mom would have beat the s*** out of my dad in his sleep if he’d have raised a hand to her!
I agree with the hubby. Don't fix something that is not broken.
I wish a refrigerator would still last 20 years!
We have one in our garage that we bought in 1989. It still works like a charm. They truly do not make them like that anymore!
I'm sure back then people were content with a frost-free refrigerator.
Nowadays, they demand ones with special ice makers & Wi-Fi capability. 😅
My refrigerator is 50 years old. And I have no plans of replacing it. New junk is lucky to make ten years!
This film is from around 1962, not 1954.
You're right. I think that a '62 Corvair. Arthur was apparently way ahead of his time.

It wasn’t possible to drive a 1961 Corvair in 1954.
1962 Corvair.
@@Ctrl-XYZ 1961 Corvair
Now refrigeratorslast as long as cars used to and vice versa.
The refrigerator was from 1954 not the car please read the title its also telling its a Frigidaire
The refrigerator is from 1940/41 not 1954
Americans used to work in factories building things? 😱 Possession of this video will get you 20 years hard labor in China.
Does anyone recognize the brand of her 20 year old refrigerator?
It's not 1954, it's from 1962.
The crap sold today is junk. “Environmental friendly” If it lasts 3-4 years without an issue one is lucky.

It is satire. People back then would have recognized that. As should people today.

I think it's human nature to romance preceding Generations
So explain Drumpf becoming president. 🤨
