Regarding Black Myth: Wukong, a few notes that may sway Rob into giving it a shot. I’m not sponsored and just love the story and the game. 1. The idea is that you’re not The Monkey King, you’re a monkey that’s supposed to go complete a bunch of trials in order to fulfill a prophecy. Several other monkeys have existed and will afterwards if The Destined One fails. You, the player can’t pick your player but you can pick how your monkey looks. There are soooo many different staff upgrades, new staff looks and builds that you unlock later in the game than I think Jonny was at the time of this recording. 2. Armour and Weapon choices are pretty expansive, beyond just cosmetics in influencing whether you want to lean towards a specific stance, spell setup, transformation, or spirit move. They have different benefits if you equip all 4 vs mix and match to get some from each set 3. There’s more than 1 spell lmao. Just 4 active ones at a time, and you can select from a bunch more you unlock. There are also relic upgrades, spark points, etc. that can have major influences on how the game pans out. My experience is nothing like my brothers’ and my friends’ experiences. 4. almost 90+ unique boss fights. It has a lot of climb-the-flights boss stage elements that Rob enjoys from rogue like indie games. I’m 50 hours in and watching guides/walkthroughs - still missed some optional bosses and secrets. The game goes on forever and is based on a story that several of our fav characters are based off of (Aang, Goku, etc.) Enjoy the game Jonny and others!!! I know I am. Have been looking forward to it since the ps5 launch trailer and can’t stress enough how good it looks (on PC it looks even better)
The biggest part about Wukong that I love is the story, world and mythology. Journey to the West is a legendary novel and part of Chinese culture. The graphics, monsters and lore is incredible

Question: I've heard Rob mention that some of his favourite games include Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy 8 and Final Fantasy 10. These games are all linear, story-driven, and have many characters, with no visual character customisation. This seems in stark contrast to the types of games Rob now prefers (open-ended games with highly customizable characters). I'm curious to know why Rob lists those games as some of his favourites, as it seems he wouldn't enjoy games like that nowadays? Is it more a case of them being games he played in his childhood? and so carry a lot of nostalgia-value? Cheers guys
If you like build options, maybe check out crossout. I only play the mobile version, but i hear the PC version is good too. Vehicle combat, putting vehicles together, putting guns or other weapons on top and fighting it out.
The way Caio handled Cannonier was unbelievable. Fighters are scared of Cannonier, not run for their lives scared but very cautious compared to other opponents, this bloke didn't let that bother him, a lot of these guys who were signed 2-5 years ago and are waiting in the wings are not going to care for the legacy the guys at the top of the table have. DDP represents a changing of the guard, fighters signed in the 2020s. I sincerely hope Rob is the last of the current crop of veterans to hold the belt again.
Wu Kong has been anticipated for at least - 3 years? And it seems to live up to the hype which is great, there hasn't been a good Souls clone since Lies of P and both that game and Wu Kong are very good, the best Souls clones ever made in terms of action. I'm with Johnny on Wukong. From how Rob describes playing Dark Souls and Elden Ring, I think he'd love it too. The game is as hard as you make it with build and playstyle investments! The talent trees and combat stance styles offer about as much diversity in how you play just like God of War.
its kinda crazy how Cannonier does so well at 40 years old its partly because Middleweight doesn't really have great fighters outside of top 5 but its really impressive regardless
Good take from Rob. He's putting it all in, molding his training to who his opponent is, and if he can't survive the wrestler... so be it. Very based. Paulo signed up but pulled the plug, but no one in the top 5 is keen to find out what's up with Chimaev, except Rob, so no one knows where he's at with bigger guys, guys who are used to bigger guys, you know... middleweights and especially those in the champion class. It's also an unfair advantage he has been allowed to have not fighting someone top 10 first... no one can get a real look at him. Until he's fought Robert. I hope Rob is practicing striking tired. Grind Rob's speed down with grappling is probably a fair call as a tactic.
