Contemplating this TX as a trainer for my son on the Apprentice 700mm STOL. Did the update and got it bound in profile 1 but only had 1 safe option on the typical safe mode switch. After speaking with Horizon was told to use profile 2 to access all of the safe modes. All 3 positions of the switch have safe now but I'm unable to turn off safe. Not understanding this. When in profile 1 with switch in position 1 and 2 the control surfaces have complete full movement. But when I put the TX in profile 2, I'm unable to get full movement of the control surfaces in any switch position of the safe switch. Dont really like this setup as I was hoping to be able to turn off safe at least on one position of the switch. Also struck me odd that the Apprentice STOL would use profile 2 as I understand most trainer type planes use the profile 1. Off topic you have some informative videos keep up the great work!
It will be nice to use this radio for future planes with somebody getting started , so it does not go to waste as I have two I no longer use. After upgrading to a nx 10.
Quick question? What’s the correct way to start your plane. Do you turn on TX first then power up your plane or power up plane first then to RX on. I’ve done it both ways and everything’s been fine but just was wondering the best way. Thanks and love your helpful videos. Keep on keeping up. 👍🏻👍🏻
So I just got a new aeroscout with a DXs transmitter, So your videos got me curious and I made my own dxs adapter cable and I already had the spektrum programming cable. I was able to register my DXs with spectrum and the software was already at 1.3, but exploring what else you can do through the programming cable on the dxs is very simple, the answer is nothing. 🥵
I used to Old Servo extension cables and cut off the female ends . You need to splice the two outside wires of each cable that were cut off together. I then took the hood off of one male end and then carefully released the three male pins out of the connector. You only need the two outside wires the middle wire is not used. With the two outside male end wires you carefully plug the male pins into the two outside pinholes on the four pin transmitter port. You then plug the other end into your programming cable.
Nice, just got the TURBO TIMBER EVOLUTION 1.5mm but my FLAPS are on my a [bind] button and NOT on D Button. Driving me nuts, can't find a video to change it.
I just purchased a twin otter 1.2m would this transmitter work with that plane. I was looking to get a transmitter but am new to rc and figured to ask? Thank you
No trainer cable required for the smart TX's. The DXS can wirelessly bind to the NX series of TX's that have wireless trainer bind. I've done this.

Perfect timing, I have a dxs tx now that came with my Aeroscout and just got the umx turbo timber evo. Will be watching out for the next videos

Same I can't find my serial number and "my spektrum" show how to but not for the DXS doesn't help
