Cliff Williams is the most underrated bass guitarist in rock history . He's a pure rhythm machine no bum notes no losing pace his sound is fat bass but heavy and clear let's give cliff a round of applause for decades of showing everyone how its done .
Well said Mr Bates, have to say it has brought me to tears with what has happened to these guy's in the past. Been a BIG fan since LTBR album soon as you feel the energy that's it your hooked for life.
Take that Brian bashers! Bon would be proud of that performance. One of Angus’s best solos. One of my favourite DC songs, LOVE IT This band has brought so much joy to my life
I totally agree. I’ve always knocked Bryan’s ac dc because it’s not the ac dc I know but this performance makes me think give the guy some credit. Amazing
Phil Rudd is a beast on the drums . Simple setup, never misses a beat and so many iconic songs.Wish they played this more often . Miss you Phil , Cliff . Rip Malcolm, Bon .
@@caprise-music6722 He was on that metal show with Eddie trunk and Co and he said powerage because it was so raw and just before all the polish and pristine of highway to hell and back in black.
This song is a perfect example of what Malcolm always said about their music. Paraphrasing here but he said that a song has to swing. "If it doesn't swing it's not ACDC."
Took awhile, but it's my favorite now. Every song is killer. This is a swingier version of the album version, still like it, but the original runaway freight train pace is the best imo. Man, these guys can get you moving so effortlessly.
Best AC/DC album PERIOD!! Powerage! The whole album kicks you in the teeth again right when you get back from sin city and all that riff raff. Makes you ask the question “gimme a bullet” because you’ve gone shooting and now you’ve got the down payment blues. But it’s all good at the end of the day because you realize you’re living in a rock-n-roll damnation!🤘
One of their best head crunching songs from their best album that I always feel is overlooked. HTH and BIB may have catapulted them into fame but Powerage laid down the foundations for that rock steady beat.
My favorite part of this (and there’s a million amazing parts to this video) is at the beginning when you can clearly hear mal’s absolutely perfect riffing in the background. Just like Phil, Mal was a fucking machine.
I love Angus's long solo in this, but this song is also a showcase of the perfection of AC/DC's rhythm section. I love the way Malcolm kicks off the groove for the whole thing.
why do people make a big deal who is singing both Bon and Brian are good singers if Brian did not come in for AC/DC after bon passed AC/DC would not be AC/DC today it pisses me off how much hate brian gets just shut your yap and enjoy the sweet riffs that Malcolm and Angus make
agree totally Daniel and well said......people should be glad they had these cats for all this time..... past, now, and future and stop with the hate....but hey people .....father time never loses.....as of "now" they aint what they were with Malcolm gone and brian now etc.... but they still kick ass....all please enjoy it while you can and stop the bs hate comments....I been rolling with these guys since they came out.....be rolling with them till they are not rolling no more if god lets me, and miss greatly when they stop cause rock like this is a dying breed
john brach i know just ain't the same with out Malcolm now cliff is gone Angus is the only original band member left and its even worse with out Phil Rudd but I'm happy chris came into fill in for phil i don't know id love to see AC/DC do another tour becuse i know Angus Young has it in him still but if they don't i understand and Bon and Brian are both good in thier own respect
Well said. If AC/DC packed it in when Bon died we would not have had a great rock and roll band putting out great music all these years. No one comes close to the magic the rhythm section has alone. Then you put entertaining musicians like Angus and Bon /Brian and you have pure musical extasy.
For AC/DC to prevail at such a level after all these years is Legendary. I had the privilege and honor of seeing the Highway to Hell tour in 79' w/Bon. I'd never seen or heard anything like AC/DC. Bon's presence and performance was commanding to say the least but Angus was the main focal point. It's because of Angus's energy, character, riffs and mesmerizing image that's the reason and cause of AC/DC's longevity. Bon will always be the voice of Classic AC/DC and Brian Johnson is and has, for a long time now, been a huge part of AC/DC's success and history. No matter what happens too, with, in AC/DC, Angus is the main draw. I was with Dave Hlubek, guitarist and founding member of Molly Hatchet, during the Flirtin' with Disaster in Feb of 80' when we were all told that Bon Scott was found dead.
When the whole world was getting into disco music this band were playing in half empty London pubs clubs and dives with Bon Scott. Raw.No one gave a shit.It makes me smile to see all those people at these stadium gigs....mobile phones in their hands and the plastic horns on their heads
Brian Your Wind Capacity is Unmatched Esp For A Guy Who Smoked Cigs For So Many Years Tempo Great As Usual ,,Now A By Gone Era I Hope You All Enjoy Retirement You Certainly Earned It
I'll not be believed, but I was partially responsible for them bringing this song back. I convinced some folks who knew the band to bring this particular song back for the SUL tour 2nd leg. Was so glad they did.
Cliff Williams is the most underrated bass guitarist in rock history . He's a pure rhythm machine no bum notes no losing pace his sound is fat bass but heavy and clear let's give cliff a round of applause for decades of showing everyone how its done .
Cliff rules
The succes of ac/dc come by these 3 dudes behind cliff, malclom and phill. Without one of them acdc doesn't sound like acdc
Cliff is the man!
There's never been a rhythm section in all of rock history that could touch Malcolm, Cliff, and Phil.
@@scottkelly7051yeah, that's right,... Best Hard Rock Band EVER 👋😊
This has to be the most informed and correct statement of all time 👏👏👏
Phil ripping a cig the whole time. Badass
I cant be the only one out there that absolutely loves Brians voice from 2000-2003
Only true ACDC fans know this song. One of the best ones from Powerage
And fans of Mark Kozelek.
Yes!!!
Nah, literally their best song. AC/DC, a genre of their own. Nothing but pure jive this!
The best is. You have a Sg or vintage And you play it yourself. This is so awesome groove. Rock n Roll. 🎸 Malcolm and Angus are awesome 👍
one of my top 5 from their entire discography
There’s no one who could have ever filled Bon’s shoes. Love Brian! Still killing it in his 70s.
Listen how the song comes to life when Phil kicks in then the whole song just locks in.
The magic of Phil Rudd. His no in-ear click track natural groove is the unspoken power behind these guys
Well said Mr Bates, have to say it has brought me to tears with what has happened to these guy's in the past. Been a BIG fan since LTBR album soon as you feel the energy that's it your hooked for life.
@@twist2723 For me no Rudd, no AC DC. He is the swing in the feel, the groove and the weight. No-one else gives that feel.

Maybe the first time Brian sang it in front of an audience... Omg people had been blessed this night
I totally agree. I’ve always knocked Bryan’s ac dc because it’s not the ac dc I know but this performance makes me think give the guy some credit. Amazing

Brian killed it here. The was amazing.
Phil Rudd:Best drummer EVER!!!
Rudd is a fucking MACHINE!!!
Great version. Angus swings in the solo, Rudd sits in the pocket..........
This is brilliant. Brian was fab! There will never be any one like acdc! They have my heart!☺
I love how during the Ballbreaker and Stiff Upper Lip tours they revisited old 70s songs.
That's because Powerage is Brian's favorite Bon album. No doubt he lobbied for these
And Phil got back on the kit
