Here’s the drum play through for the new Cognizance track "The Foreboding Impass".
I'm very proud to announce that I'm a full time member now!

This time we recorded drums in Graz with my buddy Mathias Garmusch at the same studio we did Illusory (Stress Studio).

For me, David Diepold is following the legacy of George Kollias, for me, the best drummer of the metal scene.
Much more than speed or use of blast, the exquisite technique, the years and years of laerning, practising, improving and the ability of multiple but quick changes of pace, always clean and without hesitations, have been turning this guy into someone I cannot describe accuratley...He is too good to be true!
Praise Buddy Rich, John Boham, Mike Portnoy and so many that, no matter the genre, have turned playing the drums into a form of art but for David Diepold , still so young and yet so talented, I can´t imagine how far can he get. May we hear and watch, in the process...

Just fucking awesome!!! I like that you've got the music a little louder too. Yes it's a drum cover but I like to still hear it blended with the rest of the music. Also love that this song isn't all blast beats. Yeah they're cool and all but a whole song of blast beats gets really old. I still prefer the Slayer speed beats. Easier to get into headbanging.

around 280 bpm I think
SlayMetal243 that would be completly insane. even dominator struggles at that speed. 280bpm with both hands and SINGLE foot blasts would be almost unbelievable.
It's 260 not 280.
If you can play double bass at that speed, you can play single footed blasts at that speed.
For me the most insane things is that when you play a blast beat there's a little " shift " between the snare drum and the hi-hat. At high speed (260, 280, ...), this shift is very very " minimal ". That's something that is and that always will be insane for me. (the fastest blast beat that I can play without precision's difficulties is at 105 bpm by using sixteenth note... )
vocals are more bearable here. I still think theyre too dominant and take away from the song rather than add something. Are you guys ever gonna tour then?
