      Ed thank you! Still to this day when someone asks me where I learned to sight read I tell them about your band and the hundreds of songs in your book. It was a real privilege getting to play with you guys and especially at a young age, really helped me improve.

      @@havenwestcott3189 Not the hardest at all. Improvising through the changes may be difficult but the solo in itself is pretty melodic. I already seen people scatting the solo.

      No, that is a big stretch. Coltrane played it first try. Whilst this man is insanely good, to say that he is on par with Coltrane is almost offensive.

      Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, I am a musician and experienced in various genre…..jazz being my favorite; I was 5 yrs old when Coltrane passed…..but man Cut my teeth….listening to Coltrane….sir.

      @@reynaldomadridi7238 I am a jazz musician as well, and as both of us are jazz musicians, we know that it is harder to improvise, than to sight read it. I just don't think that you can say that this man is on par with john coltrane by him playing something through practicing and reading, when john made this up off the top of his head.

      @@lukakomadina6470 I concur…..I have observed the technical & classically trained musician marvel at the gifted legends of the likes of Coltrane…..who off straight improvising and feel/vibe be able to play tune that are standards to this day and time. My comment was only a compliment to the young man….playing one of the most complete and to the note version of Giant Steps…..I have personally ever heard. Of course….Coltrane is one of greatest jazz musicians of all time!

    My favorite jazz song. Recreating what someone else did vs. being the one that heard it, wrote it, and played it isn’t fair. This song resonates all this many years says it all. Enjoy it!

    This is excellent.
    A "good" sight-reader and/or classically trained performer can manage this well from the actual transcribed solo found in the 'Trane Solo Book - although not with the same emotions and phrasings as John himself.
    A number of "scat" vocalists has made wonderful duplications of this solo - and those of others - with accuracy and precision second-to-none.
    On soprano RECORDER, Benoit Sauve is the master duplicator - with all the Oganic Jazz nuances.
    Great performance, champ; keep on doing your thing saxophonically!
