Awesome! I wanted to get the TR8 but my friend flying in couldn't carry all of them LOL Ended up getting the MX, TB and VT. Really wanted the TR and the System. Maybe soon :)
I use two TB-3, a TR-8 and the System-1 with a Yamaha analog mixer. Would it be a good idea to upgrade to this? I do like the effects, but I don't use extra hardware nor Ableton, so maybe it would be a waste of money in my case.
Max16032 if you've already got a mixer and aren't trying to bring in a laptop or something, it might be not that useful to you. The FX are great, but you could get something like a Kaoss Pad or something and get a similar effect. I would say try it out in a store if you can for a while and see if it's worth it to you. I am not sure it would be as much an upgrade as a crossgrade. :-)
+John Richardson hey John, I don't have experience with that mixer but we have run other mixers into the mx-1 at times. I usually plug external mixers into he send return on the mx-1 since it am not using any external effects.
I couldn't hear much of a difference between the different types of the mastering chain appart from number 9. Might be hard to judge just by watching on youtube. Did you feel it does make a real difference to the music? I hope it's not like the bland compressors on the tr8...cheers
zigular909 there's two factors that probably effect how different the mastering presets are. first would be UA-cam's compression, the second would be whatever you're listening on. If it is something with no low end you probably won't hear the difference since they seem to be different emphasis on the low end and sub bass. I'm sure if you had a MX-1 in front of you and went through the presets you could hear the difference.
are you using Ableton and Traktor Pro 2 on the same laptop and on a PC or Mac? The downside with using it with a PC is the ASIO driver is not multi client so you would not be able to run it on the same PC without using a virtual ASIO driver like Jack for Windows or Voicemeeter to bring the audio from both apps in. Then you can reroute the audio. Jack is more versatile for this but it's also a bit more technical when it comes to setting up.
thanks for your reply, i want to use ableton and Traktor on the same Mac. I have MX-1 and TR8 and I want to use them in Ableton while Z1 and X1 to control Trktor PRO 2, any suggestion?
you should be able to do that fine, just route the audio from Traktor to two channels on the MX-1, when you are cuing, use the Sel button on the MX-1 to listen to what you are cuing in Traktor. I've done something similar with an MX-1 and TR-8 and Traktor S4 and it's worked pretty well.
TIME on the Scatter seems to affect the Duty-Cycle for the effect, like the Value button does to the BFX,..,
The combo effects are rather nice.
Hey Reiche, have you figured out a way to do insert efx in the master channel in ableton with the MX-1?
Thanks for sharing bro! Did you get the whole Aira range?
Hey Cy! I have the tr-8, system-1, and mx-1. I hope to get some of the modules and a TB-3 someday.

I got the System-1 first and then the TR-8. I recommend both, they are really the most versatile pieces.

Hi Reiche, What do you think of using the Line 6 Helix as a mixer? I am looking at converting the Mic Inputs to (for extra)Audio Inputs

Would you use the Bastl Dude w/ the Roland MX1 & Traktor PRO 2?(together)
