wow it's nice to see my hometown through someone else's perspective. Makes me appreciate it more! Such a cute video 😊
I live in Turku. A beautiful city during the summer. A lot of stuff you can do. Summer will end before you can do anything you want to😂
I think Finland in general is super pretty in the summer, so we gotta enjoy it while it last 😂
oh this was so lovely to see as a Turku native!
Such a calming and charming vlog! Thank you 💌
Very nice shooting and editing, almost like a movie. Greetings from Turku ❤
Absolutely aesthetic em ơi, the scene, the colors, the music, the vibe...! Looking forward to seeing more of this
Hehe thankiu thankiuuu
Lovely video! Was a funny suprise that you filmed my front door, it looked lovely! I see my home in a different light now 🥳🥰
What are the odds? We are currently visiting in Turku and staying in same apartment as you were and watching your Turku video 😄
COOL!
Such a beautiful vlog! Nice colorimetry.
Glad you liked it!!
The old beautiful buildings were built when Finland was under the Russian Tsar. Unfortunately a lot of them were torn down in the eighties and nineties and were replaced by ugly concrete boxes. Without this, Turku could have been the Paris of Finland.
Russia conquerd eastern part of Sweden in 1808-1809, area is now called Finland. Finland was not "under the Russian Tsar", but autonomus part of the empire. Most of the beautiful buildings were build during the Swedish time and they were destroyed in great fire in 1827. Then thanks to Soviet airforces and their bombs, lots of buildings were destroyd by them during the war 1939-1944. After the war the leftists ruled Turku 1945-1976 and they allowed to demolish many buildings from the 19th century and the tram-system as well. In the 80's and 90's few buildings were deconstructed any more. Turku is now almost 800 years old, buildings come and buildings go.
Not as rude as Paris
And very peaceful in European standards
If you ever go to Turku again, Please go to Pippurimylly! (Pepper mill) It's one of the best restaurants we have here!
Sure i will. Thanks for the recommendation ☺️
Hi! Great video, where are the days after day 1 though!!
Working on it!
@@Tinydug yay!
Turku is such a beautiful place with, at least compared to Helsinki, incredibly calm atmosphere. But did you know that there is a funny nickname the city has.
For some time Turku has been called the "Suomen Persereikä" or "Suomen Perseenreikä", both of which share the same meaning: Finlands asshole (suomen = finlands : perse = ass : reikä = hole)
From my own experience this tends to be due to the fact that people from some cities might have prejudice towards the people of other cities, It's quite common to hear people from Helsinki to make playful fun of people from Tampere, Turku is no different :D
I'm sure there is no actual history or meaning behind the term, it just happens to be, and has been for a while that Turku is Finlands "asshole"...
