In 1991 I was 22 in the Navy and my first purchased handgun was a blued M43, I kept it for a year and traded it for another gun, I regreted it later on, owned various STAR models after that, last year I purchased another on GB with roughly 300 rounds through it with case and manuals, I forgot how much I liked it.
While a Star was not my first handgun it was close. In 43 years I have owned Star pistols I have never had a misfire, jam, or failure to fire. Anything Star was always underrated quality. Picking up another M43 tomorrow, my 8th!
interarms did not make the gun-star did. interarms was the importer. it is not a clone of the 1911 at all. it is single action, but that is about it. it was gun of the year for a gun mag back in the 80's and is a good little gun.
well, i have to correct myself about the gun of the year; it wasn't the 80's. it was gun of the year for guns and ammo magazine in 1991. star also made the bm which was a hot item a couple of years ago. spanish gunmakers star and astra made good guns. llama was spotty, it was a star that was carried by samuel jackson in pulp fiction. the firestar slide rides inside the frame instead of outside the frame like the 1911 and most others. @@Meaty556
Firestar M43 was my first pistol as well! I bought it from my military buddy when we were serving together back in 1989 and still fire it, as recent as yesterday. Good video.
My Firestar M43 Blued in 1995, for 100 buck in the original case, still have it and no issues. FYI, the M40 and M43 the most of parts are interchangeable in case you need to repair it. Parts are still out there.
This makes feel a lot better I'm 17 turning 18 in July a shoot this gun couple times at the range it felt really solid in my opinion and i asked my dad to give it to me when i turn 18 and he promised it to me i already took it apart and gave it a deep clean and useed a nice lubricant thank you for the info and background on the gun🫡
According to Pennsylvania law, a transfer of a handgun between spouses, parent and child, or grandparent and grandchild do not require an FFL or sheriff to run a background check, provided no one is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

My uncle has the m45 model. He calls it the ankle blaster 😂. Knock the socks off an intruder. great vid 👍🏿
Haha that’s awesome! I gotta come up with a good nickname for this one now, I usually just call it Ol faithful because I’ve had it so long.
Just bought an M43 Blued finish for $185. Finish is excellent and has 1 magazine.

Bought one a few months ago , I love it!
Cooler than my first handgun (bersa thunder) for sure!
We all start somewhere!
Star was in Eibar Spain, Interarms was in Alexandria, Virginia
Ah right on. Thank you!
I had one in 95, a .40, and sold it. I still regret it.
Great video bro!
Thank you man!
I just bought a brand new one never been used
That looks more like a S&W 5906 than a 1911.

So your grandfather broke the law and bought a gun for someone underage of 21 which is the legal age.
