- The canopy setup finally gets some PROPER LED lighting! Today we're installing AllSpark rigid LED light strips throughout my DIY canopy setup - these LEDs have two colour modes, white and red to keep insects and bugs away from camp.

Good job. 👍 I too prefer true red over amber. For now I use my NEBO magnetic torch to provide my red lighting at the back of my 80 series. And it's a true red, not amber. It's so good.
I have a red & white LED strip at the back tailgate of my LC80. IMO red light, a part for being the best colour for not attracting bugs, is also a better colour for providing enough light to illuminate the campsite but not over-power it like amber still does.
Red light is the best light for camping as it doesn't affect your night vision and attracts very few bugs, great job.
And the worst light for cooking and browning meat. Really need white light to cook with dude.
@@magicalvortexhaha true! Might be hard to tell how cooked the meat is under the red 😂
Yes, one learns the hard way.@@biancaspice6409
Another great informative video. Hreat work mate love your vids
Great lights. I’ve been running them for years. You want regret buying them. I’ve just bought another set in preparation for my new canopy when it arrives.
Looks good, much better mate.
Truth is animals and bugs can't see coloured lights, they can only see white light hence why they are attracted to it.
Everytime i go fox shooting with the family we use orange spot light and it works better than white.
🙂👍
Great to have them lights Daniel. I hope they really will work for you. Thanks for sharing mate.
I just installed one in my Dmax ute tub under hard lid made by overland-lux black 60cm tri color amber white and red built in dimmer super bright lights up hole camp when hard lid is raised
Should put a rheostat in line dude, they're as cheap as chips these days and real easy to do. Keep your lighting local, not yocal, and drop down a few lumens when not required, save on that inverse square law of light when not required.
Good suggestion!
So good! When I did the dual battery set up that was the 2nd thing I did in our canopy. My boyfriend had been talking about it for 2 years lol. Have you looked into replacing those little white drawers yet? I recall you weren't overly happy with them.
Still yet to replace the white drawers although they are a constant source of frustration for us haha 😆
are they waterproof and how would they age if i mounted these on my roof rack?
Good job Daniel! 👌🏼
Good job Daniel, put a dimmer switch on ur control panel somewhere, cheap & easy install for dimming ur lights & saving a lot of power. A small external light on a IR sensor for getting out of the tent in the middle of the night is handy when u gotta go too.
love the way you solder evrything thats the corect way.
Sweet, great upgrade.
Looks like a hoe house now and bet you light up the bush 🤣🤣.
Have been considering those lights from either PDP or Allspark and as per your comment based on the specs which I read, I did think the power consumption seemed a little high however I haven't found anything similar with lower current, maybe 2 smaller lights switched individually could be an option or invest in a second battery if required. Thanks for the content team. Cheers
Cheers for sharing your Install Video - We are glad your happy with your purchase - Fantastic editing and production too
Thanks team - they're unreal lights! 🙂
do they sell these in eu?
Have you. compared red vs amber lights with actual live bugs in a real life scenario? Totally loving youse channel, just found it !! The all spark looks very similar to terralume, but that only comes in amber.
Hey mate, the red has been a significant improvement over amber for bugs, they are basically non-existent with the red lights running whereas amber there was still a few. It's not as 'easy' to see around camp with the red vs amber, but your eyes adjust surprisingly quick and red doesn't affect your night vision either.
@@explorebound Good enough, pre ordered one from the next batch !! They said as soon as your video came out the things went viral and sold out !!
Looks great, the old ones you installed always need silicon to keep them in place, no matter what brand the DS tape on them is rubbish, report back on if the Red is more effective than the Amber for bugs
Red also doesn't affect your night vision either.
You surely have brightened my day / evening
ahhh tooo goood
another banger canopy fitout
Have the same lights great upgrade
What is that channel stuff that is keeping your wiring hidden on the door ?
That's just some black cable management covering - you can buy similar from most hardware stores like Bunnings in the electrical section. 🙂
Red is really cool ❤
Awesome job Daniel, once I get my tray and canopy package next January I'm going to be running Amber rock lights from Onyx lights.
1 question for you how do you like the Smart shunt, I'm not sure whether to go that route or the 702 monitor, any advice would be welcome.
Cheers
P.S Will be looking at your DIY 12v install as I want to wire my own lights, but will get my Auto sparky to install the Lithium battery (Remco Xtra, FYI).
Thanks mate! The smart shunt has been a game changer for me, I'm constantly checking the power draw of everything I turn on now, bit of an obsession haha. The bluetooth range is pretty poor, but I don't have a problem with it personally as I'm usually only wanting to check it when I'm right next to the vehicle anyway. 🙂
@@explorebound Thanks for that, I'm still unsure of what I'll buy as my battery monitor, I still have a few months before I get my Trojan Canopy fitted (4 months wait time). I did hear through a Redarc sales guy that they are pretty sure they'll have their own battery monitor out by the start of next year possibly, so pretty keen to look at that monitor.
That's Hot!
