"Have you ever been on the ferry? What is transportation like in your country?" When & if you'll be able to come to Italy a ferry ride you could enjoy is the night ferry from Naples to the Aeolian islands, leaving at 8pm and arriving in the main island (Lipari) at 9.30am, stopping at every island before that, and in particular at Stromboli at 6am... meaning in the right season you could arrive when it's still night and full moon (like what happened to me a few days ago...), Stromboli is always erupting, and seeing the island from the ship with only the light of the moon, the stars and the red of the eruption is really worth the trip. The ferry isn't as nice or new as the ones in your videos, but it's still quite good and was built in the early '90s.

The crew on the Spokane (name of the ferry and my city)were so incredibly rude it felt as though they didn't want you there. As I said the weather was bad. The ferry had a roll and an up and down movement that had my land lubber husband green. It slowed down a 1.5 hour trip to 3 hours! And driving off the Ferry was um... interesting to say the least! Thank God the Island was small, the people warm and inviting, the B&B spotless and the food impeccable! They understood my green husband and gave him a drink to settle his tummy (Alcohol I suspect). So after a terrible ferry ride and hurricane like weather, the B&B was a wonderful end to a rough day! While my husband slept off the ferry ride and cure I went shopping.

Ours was the last run for them that day because of the weather. Now we have a very small open ferry here in Eastern Washington State. It crosses the Columbia river. It's also free! It can carry 4 cars or 1 truck and 2 cars. Last summer a Longhorn Barbecue was coming back to Spokane from a big catering job. The crossing can take 1.5 hour's at times. Because of the big truck and the current we were slow. Well the Longhorn people opened the back of the truck and all of the food left was shared with us and the two ferry operators!!! Oohhh my goodness!!! Yummy yummy yummy. We pigged out, turned on my car stereo(a very good one), and had a party! The ferry guy's said it was the best crossing ever! I do think so too. If it was not for COVID I'm sure it would have been quite crowded.
My experience in Japan 50 years ago is that they are reserved and polite. They do not wear pajamas to the store and are never fat. Lol
I rode on a train there once and it was very crowded. The men were sitting and the women were standing in the isle and they were all staring at us because we were twice their height, almost. Lol

I made this trip when I was 14 years old (1972). My family lived in Fukuoka and I went to school in Kobe (Canadian Academy). The ship we were on was not nearly as nice as this one. We were in second class, there were 10 of us to a single room which had a tatami floor with futon provided. At least it wasn't third class, which was right above the engine room with at least 100 folks in a single "room." This video brought back great memories of my youth.

My family’s first visit to Japan took us to Osaka, Kansai. We visited Kyoto and Nara and Hiroshima and stayed at a ryokan in the mountains. That was nice. Our second trip we returned to Kansai, we travelled with our Japanese friends to Kobe, Shirahama and Nachikatsuura and couple of other places. That was also nice. Our third visit was mainly in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Kamakura. Our most recent trip before the pandemic, we spent in Sapporo, Otaru before returned to Tokyo. We went on trains, cars, Shinkansen etc but not on cruises. Your channel brought back the memories. Thank you!

From Canada 🇨🇦, I’m on the eastern coast, our roads half the time are no better than dirt roads, filled with people who don’t know how to drive, from here we have 1 passenger train/week (since covid) that heads out westbound. Mainly to go any distance people either drive like they are a raceway 24/7 or drive the 30km or so to the airport and fly as things are pretty spaced out. There are ferries that go to Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island from here, I’ve been on all the ferries for those but not the train

It's hugely popular here and has many health benefits including being high in antioxidants and is a good anti-inflammatory. What a beautiful video. I discovered your channel recently and I like the way you respect the privacy from others when you are filming. For me it is a great way to see what public transport and scenery in Japan is al about: awesome!! Well, public transport here (in the Netherlands) is reasonable good. Trains are running at least every hour, often more frequent, and on many lines from 5AM till 11PM-1AM. I must say: this is a small country so that makes things easier in that matter. But... Punctuality is something the Japanese are champions in: we will never come to that high level.

But the thing I love is how relaxing and slow the journey is. If you need to get somewhere quickly, then take a plane/train/car; if the ferry works for your journey, it is worth trying out. Thanks for a really interesting video :D
