Being a pro fisherman here in Australia, I dont know what they were thinking when they hired the dev team foe ocean physics.. It is unbearable. The very first version way back in early 2000's was 100% better..
@@Top-Jimmynot enough people know about that absolutely beautiful game, I play fishing North Atlantic and still it does not come close to deadliest catch Alaskan storm, the storms and waves in that game were amazing, the crew member injuries, the fact crew members could get swept away by waves and thrown overboard, even killed, and when crew members died on your boat it made it harder to hire new guys because your reputation as a captain gets damaged, your boat could actually sink. You had to call coast guard for countless reasons, you could radio over to other captains in the fleet to get fishing tips(mind you the captains weren’t always truthful just like real life) that game was so ahead of its time it’s insane
@@Heyhowareya97 Exactly mate, I have a copy of it but it refuses to run on Win 11 or Win 10 - I get as far as the splash screen and it crashes. I tried a supposed fix for it but it didn't work ...I miss that game it was very relaxing for me as Im a retired commercial fisherman with very limited mobility. It would be great to get it to work. I just dont understand how they went from such a good solid based game to something totally unrecognisable with ridiculous tasks you need to perform on your own in which in real life you simply don't leave that wheelhouse unless you want to stretch your legs and go downstairs for some socializing with your crew in which improves crew moral big time in real life, Otherwise you are literally 24/7 upstairs where its warm. But back to the ocean graphics... I seriously don't know why they went totally backwards and ruined something that had great potential, Even the handling of the vessels were pretty well spot on too. Thanks for replying mate all this time later. Lets hope they or someone brings out a realistic simulation based on everything from the minor details to boat handling, surroundings and life aboard these fantastic commercial fishing boats with a touch of realistic lifestyle as a Skipper and not a lacky running around aimlessly grinding up bait and generally getting your hands dirty. There is more than enough they can add for the skipper to keep him busy as there's more to the job than just steering a boat at a stupid circle with arrows and cheesy tasks. Take care buddy.. I actually grew up on the movie perfect storm thinking of my father thats been at sea since he was 9 years old i have deep roots in fishing ive lost family at sea and theres been boats built by my pop and his sons lost at sea to. while i was in diapers ive seen and done things at sea you probably never even heard of or thought possible for instance when i was a baby my father had 2 whales get caught in the lines of crab gear first he cut one free and the next he dragged back to land thats when he took me in his arms and climbed the whale so we could have that picture together the skeleton of that whale is at the fishermens museum in newfoundland if your trying to control what i say or make me feel bad over my choice of words just know your wasting your time an if anything you saying that crap to me is more offensive than anything considering the fact you made such assumptions all without even knowing me or my history or my familys history for that matter

"The perfect storm" is a meteorological event when storms align perfectly to cause a monster storm. It’s not the name of a specific boat or point in time etc etc. I’m pretty sure you’re the only one offended by the name of a film or a meteorological event.
