  • Here we have Kev showing you this great little Fly 3 mini amp by Blackstar.
The Blackstar Fly 3 Mini Acoustic Amp comes from a long line of Fly 3 Mini Amps. There's a reason why they just keep on coming back. So, expect that same immaculate Fly 3 tone you know and love, and that same compact, easy-portable size you desire - now available for your acoustic instrument.
That's right. As long as your acoustic, ukulele, even your mandolin is loaded with a pickup, this Fly 3 Mini Acoustic Amp is certain to step your performance up a notch or two. Bringing a shedload of tonal flavour that belies its cute size while offering much needed bass and treble shaping with an echo effect for playing around with too. Turn heads while busking, use it as a personal monitor or simply capture the sonic magic of your performance via the 3.5 mm Line Out, the main thing is, you're going to be heard with the Fly 3.
"What a fantastic little amp! I love it. It's not just an amp though - it's great for playing music through from your device as there's an aux input. As an amp, it is ideal for trips away, camping, festivals...and it can be used for any gig, and dare I say it - at any size...as there's an emulated output; so it will send the brilliant sound of the amp to any mixing desk, through any PA. It really is a top class amp, at a very affordable price. The echo function is really good too, creating delays at lower speeds and reverb effect at faster rates."

Thanks for the comparison with volume PDF. Curious what full volume sounds like, how far were you from recorder, any mics used? Thanks!

Sounds great. My parlour guitar doesn't have electrics, can plug a mic in?

@@FadingRosesBluesTristeza I don't see why not. They're not made for mic's, but voice frequencies are very similar to that of an acoustic guitar, so with a little EQ tweak I should imagine you'll be good to go!

What’s the difference between Electric (black) and Acoustic (brown) fly 3 mini? Can they switch and play for acoustic and electric and vice versa?

It's not advised to put an acoustic guitar into an electric guitar amplifier: there's a lot more bass frequency in an acoustic guitar, so not only would it sound thin and tinny, there's every chance that you would blow the speaker. If you were to put an electric guitar into an acoustic guitar amp, there's no chance of blowing the speaker, however the sound will be muffled and very bassy - as though there is a pillow covering it.

Would this be ok for harmonica amplification?

It would, but I think an electric guitar amp, with slight overdrive is recommended.
