Yes, he's rather good. Obscure, sometimes a bit cryptic... I actually found a scan of his 1925 collection The Smoking Leg on Google Books and downloaded it for free. Worth checking out.
I really loved this story, though i am curious as to if the main character had some kind of mental episode or split personality. With how he ended up killing the woman he seemed to have strong feelings for and because of the shock of that he repressed the memory. But it also explains the comment his doctor made about how odd he was acting when he last gave the main character a ride.
My Goodness! 😵😵😵 the way you narrate some of your words ....gives me the *shivers* & that beginning sound effect & haunting laugh & the ending ... to repeat myself: My Goodness! 😵😵😵
Still catching up. Is this a dual personality or what! The clues were all there in the story but that Jasper man didn't give me a tip by changing any inflection as he read on and led me on
That was delightfully wretched and fiendish!! I'm looking at your view stats and want to tell you based on them and your relentless talent, the only thing keeping you from becoming the next Lord of Lore and Sultan of Story is that one lucky, and now inevitable viral tale which is the due fruit of your diligence and which will pull all past and future efforts into the statistical stratosphere. You have already become master of your trade over all the more recognized yarn spinners on UA-cam, and soon fate will reveal your ascension to the world. Seriously, though it is grandiose verbiage, it is true. After years of making videos of this and that for mere jellies, what was my wonder but to see one morn that an unspectacular kitty video I recorded of Satchel (feline) and his kitty pal (named after HP Lovecraft's tomcat) had rocket to 170,000 views overnight. But you actually have GREAT content and fans. Soon you will reign in your art.
@@bobbymarcum772 I quite like 'for the jellies' and might start using it 😉. Thanks for the encouraging comments! The kittens, as you know, were adorable 😍

Good story and great narration!
"Whoah!" sums this one up. That ending was intense!
Thanks! You are a true master, my friend.
Yes, the T shirt idea and inscription would be grand!
Another excellent story - that was some ending.
Well read and produced by the Master of the Macabre ❤
I really like these stories by John Metcalfe, I'd never heard of him before. Another high class reading Jasper, keep up the excellent work!

“Not that…anything but that.” Seems like that is your catch phrase…you have read several stories now with that same line.
Have I?? Haha 😄 I'll have to put them all in the next channel trailer and then get some T-shirts made up with it 🤪😉

Er, ah, for JOLLIES, not jellies.
