You can’t stress proper care of roofs enough. Being a seasonal camper in northern Michigan, I’ve been on the roof of my 2021 three times this year. Each time there is something to attend too. Very good advice!

LOL. yup, I always speculated that by REV group Buying American Coach and Monaco some of the "Luxury" features would eventually "Trickle" down to Fleetwood.

Wax on, wax off twice a year, Mr. Miyagi says. That is a nice looking coach all in all. Would be nice to see in the stacker just to see the setup. I would not complain to drive that around. The manufactures must not be getting the press hot when they roll them for the walls to check that much. Stay safe and healthy.

Production RV coaches it is important to store inside when not in use and sell in three to four years.
Wash and wax roof, clean and reseal all joints twice a year or more depending on usage.
    Built to fall apart.

Nice coach. That paint would chap my hide a bit with that checking and corner fading though. Of course three years in the two seasonal extremes of AZ without storage/cover might challenge the best of clearcoats. For coaches stored outdoors, wash/wax every 3 or 4 months do wonders for storing outdoor. Like you said, UV protectant is crucial

We now have a 2017 Coachman Freedom Express travel trailer after selling our Itasca Meridian 39k, which was just too much machine for us at the present moment. The roof appears to be some kind of flexible textured vinyl material. I've been unable to figure out what specific material it is, and what the best way to protect it would be. I have a gallon of 303 Protectant on hand, would that be acceptable to apply after a thorough washing? Thanks for all these roof and walkaround videos, they're a huge help to the owner who wants to do things right.

That really is a beautiful paint scheme on that RV and it's a damned shame the quality of it as far as the paint used or thickness/number of cotes isn't holding up. To already be showing checking at just 3 years is really sad. I wonder could you add a half bath into that rear closet, just a toilet? NM, silly question but the wife tells me if we don't have two toilets I don't get an RV. LOL
Thanks for taking us inside and that really is my favorite layout with the kitchen right up front behind the passenger seat. To me it just makes a Class A more homey and really makes it so the living spaces have that feel of separation. Plus it's great for preparing meals that you inevitably end up eating outside at your campsite. Loved that wood work and cabinetry, the color was so rich and beautiful. Overall a great rig if only it had 1.5 baths...

So I’m considering a 2015-2018 Discovery Series 40g LXE or a Tiffin Phaeton Qkh and another potential bunk diesel pusher for my family. Prices on comparable models seems to be much higher for the phaetons. I know you like tiffin but would you put their build quality (pre Covid 2014-2018 years) much higher than Fleetwood’s? Thanks!

I thought dicor was not good on fiberglass roofs. I thought you said self leveling silicone.

    • @AZExpert
      @AZExpert  3 роки тому +1

silicone on winnebago and tiffin, dicor will stick to fiberglass fine just not if silicone was used first.

I had one Fleetwood motorhome will never have another one. The frame and bracing were not painted from the factory. First trip: Turning signals kept blowing fuses, electric steps quit working, awning spring broke, Brake master cylinder leaked. Engine battery went dead. All of this happened 1,000 miles from home......

    More good info, Sir!
I looked at a Renegade Super C yesterday, and they said they use some sort of 3M tape on roof penetrations, instead of gobs of sealant. Have you seen this? Opinion?

@@AZExpert Yes, after seeing your experiences with eternabond it made me suspicious. I thought since 3M made so many accepted industrial bonding products used in the automotive world maybe gave it some credibility.

Looks like 👍 somebody’s DIY solar panel job. Don’t know if this voids the warranty. It’s a lot easier to remove the vent covers, being clips. I’d clean 🧼 under them. With the question 🙋‍♀️ that this video was leaving me to guess, I thought 💭 you’d find a rat’s 🐀 nest up 🆙 there, or something. Your friend, Jeff.

All people care about is how pretty it is inside and what fancy power buttons it has. LOL The only way they will start making RV's better quality is when customers stop buying them and tell them why. Money always talks. Apparently with the onslaught of buyers buying everything on the lots don't look for any change in quality anytime soon.

The manufacturers get away with all this really crappy workmanship because the buying public public either doesn't do their due diligence or flat out doesn't care. Until a new manufacturer sets a high bar for design and quality construction (and the public is prepared to pay for it) the situation won't change.
It's 1980s Detroit all over again
