What I just discovered last week while playing the remake and didn't know for almost 30 years is that the Wind Crystal is weak against Jump... and so is the Wind Elemental boss in FFIV, where this boss music comes from. So that means Mario is a dragoon!
I never thought about it that way. Huh. That's really neat. Kinda makes me wish Mario had an 'extended' jump to skip enemy targeting, but I s'pose we can wait for Super Mario RPG 2 for that.

I love that Mario and Peach are wearing the Super Suit and Lazy Shell respectively and that's why they're taking little/no damage or status effects while Geno's getting smoked
This is what I imagine the Famicom build of FFIV sounded like since that game was converted to SNES super late in development. Yes I know VRC6 wasn't Square, I said I imagine ok?

I didn't expect the entire thing to be animated. This is really cool. I normally despise phrases like 'you deserve more views', but you know what, yeah, you could afford to steal at least a few from Mr. Beast, in a sense.
It says Peach is in the middle in the UI but she's at the bottom. Geno at the bottom, but he's at the top. That's the only thing that bothers me lol but everything else is perfect.
@dr.metroid6119 no even then his magic defence is still terrible, he still takes significantly more damage from Culex and the crystal's attacks than anyone else, not to mention his slow speed as well which is also a pretty bad handicap against Culex.

it was also the strat to beat the 3rd elemental lord/fiend in FFIV, and the most effective since Cain would not be affected by petrify and tornado.

At this point someone needs to make an FF3 ROM hack/SMRPG demake using these sprites. These animations are just too good.
Mario's a Dragoon, Peach an obvious White Mage, Geno a Blue or Red Mage, Mallow's a Black Mage (note his striped pants), and Bowser's a Fighter.
