STURGIS 2022 WAS A BLAST! Every year, we get to meet more and more people and the rally just keeps getting better and better. After an incredible 8 days of riding, exploring, and shaking hands with America, our trip is coming to a close and it's time to begin the 2 day, 1,400 mile ride home back to Southern California.
In this episode, we start out in Deadwood, South Dakota at Mount Moriah Cemetery to see some famous grave sites like those of "Wild Bill" Hickock and Calamity Jane and learn about the deep-rooted history of the area. We then part ways with the Thrashin' crew and hit the road to make it as far as we can while the sun is still out.
Even though we had some interstate riding, we still filled the day with some scenic backroad 2Lanes and had a blast ripping through the Wyoming wind on our way to Utah, where we eventually landed in Heber City just before nightfall.

ABOUT MOUNT MORIAH CEMETERY
Mount Moriah Cemetery on Mount Moriah in Deadwood, Lawrence County, South Dakota is the burial place of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, Seth Bullock and other notable figures of the Wild West. By tradition, the American flag flies over the cemetery 24 hours a day, rather than merely from sunrise to sunset.
In the early years of Deadwood, there were two graveyards: The Ingelside Cemetery, which was part of the way up Mount Moriah and was filled quickly in the first few years it was open, and the Catholic Cemetery. Many prospectors, miners, settlers, prostitutes and children were buried within the Ingelside Cemetery, alongside Wild Bill Hickok and Preacher Smith.[2]
In the 1880s it was determined that the land where Ingelside Cemetery was located could be better used for housing. Most of the bodies there were moved up the mountain to Mount Moriah and re-interred. However, since many graves were unmarked or unknown some were not moved. Today it is not uncommon for people working in their garden or remodelling a basement or shed to find human bones as a leftover from the Ingelside Cemetery days.
Mount Moriah's main attraction is Wild Bill's gravesite. Calamity Jane and Potato Creek Johnny are buried next to him.

ABOUT STURGIS MOTORCYCLE RALLY
The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is a motorcycle rally held annually in Sturgis, South Dakota, and the surrounding Black Hills region of the United States. It began in 1938 by a group of Indian Motorcycle riders and was originally held for stunts and races.
The very first Sturgis motorcycle rally was held on August 14, 1938. The event was organized by the town’s motorcycle club called the Jackpine Gypsies who bought and developed large tracks, hill climbs and field areas where the rally would be held.
Today, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally continues to reap the support and attendance of both participants and motorcycle fans all over the United States and in some parts of the world.

Haha you know it!
It was awesome to get to meet you guys up at back 40 and play a nice little game of cat and mouse on the way there haha! See y’all down the road
How did you like the ride down the hill?
Yes sir!! Great running in to you guys. Gotta love the back & forth on the highway! Hope you guys had a great rest of the trip. See ya down the road🤘
What do you do keep your ass from hurting man. I got stop every 150 miles man. Just bought your saddlemen seat hope it makes a big difference. Love the videos man.
Just some seasoned seat time. For us, the super cushy seats end up hurting the ass and back more than e medium firmness seat would. Cushy couch seats in our experience tend to cut off circulation and cause slouching which is no good for the long haul days. It looks like you ordered the Tour Step-Up which is a great middle ground seat with plenty of support and a bit comfier than it's standard step-up counterpart. Get some seat time in on that and get familiar with how everything feels compared to a stock seat, there's not always a 1 size fits all option. Sometimes we'll stand on the rear pegs to stretch out too, but only when it's safe to do so
@@2LaneLife Thanks for the info you guys rock. I am 63 and adding life to my years.
Mark, I'm 68and ride from Alaska to Sturgis yearly for last 15 years with exception for 2020 Canada had borders closed. I have stock seat on a 2013 FLTRU Road Glide Ultra. I found a $90 seat cushion by Air Hawk to add up to 300 miles a day. Now I've done Anchorage to Wausau, Wisconsin in 4.5 days. It's about 4000 one way. Good food and rest really helps. It's starting to bother my knees a little as I age. Good luck with finding a solution.
Hello out there on the west coast
Yo yo yo! Thanks for tuning in, Richard! 🤘
You can’t beat subWay for lunch on a long bike ride.
Quick & easy gets 'er done!!
Love the content
What kind of cameras are y’all filming with?
Thanks for the support! We film with GoPros for helmet cams and some handheld shots, DJI action camera for a lot of the riding, and a Sony A7SIII for most of the stuff off of the bikes👍
what part of Kentucky are you all coming to?
We went through a few areas, but spent most of our time in Cave City 👍
@@2LaneLife can't wait to see the videos from that trip.
@@nocareriots Starting next week 👍
What part of Kentucky are you all gays coming to. I’d love to come out
We rode all around Kentucky, but spent most of our time in Cave City which was awesome! The footage from the preview was captured on that trip. Due to the amount of time it takes to produce these episodes, the series don't get released for at least a few weeks after we're back from each trip
What camera is that on the handlebar of that green road king ?
It's a dji osmo pocket attached to a Klock Werks magnetic iOmount for easy access👍
