Many congratulations to Rauno Heinla for setting a new WR on the 18-inch deadlift. As other commentators have said, that lift looked smooth as butter, I think he had 550kg in the tank at least.

Rauno is fucking strong! Wow. Of all the athletes competing at the deadlift world championships, he is the sleeper for 505. Healthy and focused, the man is limitless. Age is nothing!!! Inspirational for my old ass. Thank you Big Loz and Aunty Liz for all that you do for strength.

@@Krackerz92 I think it's looking good, better than before, but I don't know if it will be enough. It could go either way. I think he'd be a suitable guy to carry the torch of the record. It'd also be nice to end the quarreling about who has the record, and to see the sport progress. For the record, while Thor's lift was definitely great and was done in a semi-professional setting, I can't count it as OFFICIAL, though I do believe it was legit. I say this and I don't like Thor as a person. I don't let that affect my judgement. Eddie's 500 is the official record. Thor's 501 is the unofficial record and technically the heaviest normal deadlift ever completed. I think Thor's prep and showing were less impressive than Eddie's, though. Thor didn't push it to the absolute limit. He didn't peak as well. The whole thing was kind of haphazard. I slept 4 hours last night. Ergo ramble.
