Looking to use on 2 different cars. The first is a 85 3rd Gen Camaro convertible (the only prototype left out of four built). The second car is a 87 Turbo Regal, both will be body's only. Any sugestion on what to buy?
No sir. Never mounted either. I'd just start with the rotisserie. Mock it up with the arms in place and then you should be able to get a better idea of what's needed to connect the arm to the car.
I have been looking for the best method to mount a full framed car on a rotisserie. I want to put my 1986 El Camino (G Body) off the frame onto the rotisserie. With the door off and interior off the car to make it lighter what is the best method to mount on a rotisserie? I have seen a full length aprox. 3 X 3 tube the full length of the body with vertical standoff is this the method for a full frame car?
You didn't mention the glass. Don't forget to remove the glass, unless you're looking to bust it, at which point, proceed as planned sir. You can certainly build that 3x3 tube frame to take the place of the frame if you want, or you can just build brackets that allow the rotisserie's arms to bolt-up to the body mount points. Either is fine. If you're planning to replace big panels due to rust, go with the 3x3 option. It won't be funny if you weld it all back together only to find the glass doesn't fit anymore.
@@RedlineStands Thanks about removing the glass I didn't give that a thought. Does that imply the body flexes on any rotisserie? If I did the full length of a 3x3 tube, then that would be more ridged and have less chance for flexing. I have already replaced some small panels. I need it on the rotisserie to clean and paint the bottom of the body. Some more bodywork and welding of some small spots. I want to get it back on the frame before tackling the bodywork to get it paint-ready.
On a side note, when Redline began in 2002, we made all products in MS. I made them all, by hand, everything. As steel prices began to rise and I found customers weren't willing to pay the increases, sales began to fall until I was finally on job interviews and considering closing the business. That was the time I decided to start getting the products made in China. I got the price down, and the business took off.
@@RedlineStands I am a chemical engineer and my specialty is Organo-metal-transition-catalysis (PhD). In 2013 I was working for the first American stainless steel keg company. In 2016 there was some type of steel problem and we could not get what we were always buying for the same money so the owner decided to close the doors but to keep a skeleton crew on hand to keep the lights on. It was a Friday afternoon and I had left and gone to my father's law office. I Calle a company called Titan metal powders which had their corporate offices and main manufacturing plant in my town. The owner actually answered the phon because it was 6pm Friday night and I told him what happened and he asked me to email him my resume. He called me back in fifteen minutes and asked me to come and meet the executive team. When I got there they shook my hand and said we are sorry but it is the weekend. I said no problem bu they continued and said can you come in and start as our research director tomorrow morning? I said sure and I became the research director until 2021 when the plandemic ensued. I had already instituted a safety program and developed new methods for extracting a metal called rhenium from Rolls Royce Jet engines. Again we ran out of raw materials so I outsourced our testing and called another company that made active pharmaceutical ingredients. Three days later I was called in to the main office two hours away and I was the metrology engineer who brought all testing in house. During this time I was riding two hours in the morning and two at night on my 1957 Harley Panhead. I was leaving one mornin Ana was hit by a Ford F350 with a lift kit and 40" tires. Flipped up and around a telephone pole and the the truck run over my right leg nearly severing it from my body. It formed a 10 inch blood clot that broke loose and went to my heart and lungs making it feel like I was drowning while I crawled up my father's driveway to get to my brother who happened to be at the house with my nieces. He got me to the hospital and th surgeons said that I had less than 6 minutes left to live if I wasn't in surgery. They wanted to take my leg off to stop the clots but they brought me out of sedation to ask if I agreed. I said hell no! and I would fight and if it became necessary in the future I would agree to it. I fought hard for over 18 months and the circulation finally returned a few weeks ago and I have been able to walk without assistance for about a month now.I decided life is too short to work with the woketards in big Pharma so I started a small engine repair/mobile welding/fabrication and machine shop but I am running gout of money for equipment so I may have to go back in to work for a short time . I am probably a few months away from getting married and probably kids so I am trying to make uo for lost time. That is my story and Holy crap it has been a crazy few years. oh and I forgot to tell you I lost everything in 2008 with the recession thing. I would love to stay in touch my friend. I am starting to build a 1959 Bugatti race car from scratch. I am going to use parts form a Porsche 914 for the steering and other pieces.I would love to find one of those combination milling machine lathe things that you have in your shop that you did not want to sell. I am looking for an airplane hanger to lease for now until I move to Florida with my wife and possibly buy and/or build a shop like yours.
I plan to make that video, but it'll be a minute because I'm waiting for my Nova to go back on the rotisserie. In the meantime, this video might help you. ua-cam.com/video/RMgpCYV6BnM/v-deo.html

@@jamesperkins3742 The body will definitely flex regardless of the rotisserie model or brand.
Did anyone here in the US ever come through with the rotisserie's?
You mean on the USA made US3K rotisserie? No sir. We have deemed the program a financial failure at this point.
@@RedlineStands that sucks but you thought that was the case. you tried.

The trick I want to know is how to balance a car, so it doesn't run away when rolling it.
