Firepower 2000, otherwise known as Super swiv on the snes, mega swiv on the megadrive in Japanese, eu and swiv on other platforms.
Game was played in 2 player mode. Two n00bs playing their first shmup, at least that's the impression the video will give to anybody watching. No aiming or lining up shots for max kills. Just blast anything and everything that explodes with whatever weapon feels good at the time.
Its a nice version of the swiv game, originally played on the Amiga and c64 years ago. Couple of extra levels and more power ups I think. -

The music is what made this game more fun to play. The memories
As a child I never got to see how this game ended, I'm glad to finally watch it here.
Same. They had this game over at my aunt, and I never got to finish it over there, but I still very much remembered this game.
thumbs up if you play the jeep! cause your older brother or cousin HAD to be the copter!
yeeeaahh hahaha
lol I always played the Jeep and loved it.
Whahahahhaahahaaahaah.. I was the older brother.. Always had the copter! whahahahahaahahahahaa im crying!!!!!!!!!
Jeep is the safest yet most sluggish lmao
The Jeep should be the standard for all scrolling shooter avatars.
It was an excellent idea to allow you to direct yourself however you wanted and then simply keep the direction locked as long as you were firing.
Oh man the intro music is so awesome. ~~
@Leandro Rossa: Yeah, too bad the fools in the "gaming world" didn't award this best intro music.
THis game was so awesome and deserves so much attention. a 2 player shoot-em up with like a Tank and a Helicopter. A lot of team work involved and each vehicle having an advantage and disadvantage.
I remember me and my big brother playing this. And when we beat the game for the first time. Loved it.
Wow the music at the start takes me back.
Heli =
Pros - All around places (no blockade), less prone from ground threats, faster movement
Cons - Greater prone to aerial treats, fires only upward
Jeep:
Pros - Less prone to aerial treats, fires in any direction, can perform strategic shooting (ex. can fire diagonally left while moving downward), jumping capability
Cons - Greater prone to ground threats even from lava pits and falling from a hole, slower, more limited movement due ground blockades (carefully timing of jumping is needed).
Ahh sweet memories! You're forever remembered SNES
Finally I can find my fav SNES game since I was 12 years old. I’m so glad 😊
After playing a lot of SNES shmups, this one and R-Type 3 are the best SNES shmups for me.
Axelay is a good one too.
"Space Megaforce" and "U.N. Squadron" are awesome as well.
Loved this one. Not sure why a few don't like it. Sweet game :)
I think lots of people never knew about this game at all. Unless they rented it from a video store or something. Since a lot of great games was never advertised at all unless it was gaming mags. But only a few games got advertised. But i think this game deserves more attention though.
I got this game from the bargain bin at either KB Toys or Sears back in the day. While I enjoyed the hell out of it, I do think that you could say that there isn't anything super special about this game that would have it stand it in a sea of vertical scrolling shooters. The super generic name definitely does not help. The intro is fucking awesome though, haha, as cheesy as it is
Love the sound effects in this game!
Such a smart decision to not have your own weapons make noise and drown out the awesome music and the other sound effects!
The best remake of SilkWorm/SWIV out there.
For the time the graphics and the sound was awesome....watching this video reminds me of how good the all around atmosphere of this game was...👍👍👍
"We were like the Apes in 2001:
A Space Odyssey when a Super
Nintendo landed in our office.
It was very exciting, and we were
all instantly addicted to Pilot
Wings and Super Mario World.
The feature that Ronald [Pieket-
Weeserik] and I were most pleased
with was the fact that you could
now have transparent sprites! What
we didn't like about SWIV on the
Commodore Amiga were the solid
black shadows. We had to have
shadows in the game to distinguish
between things that were in the
air and what was on the ground.
So the SNES version had a much
cleaner, softer look.
Being able to have separate palettes
was a totally new thing then, so
rather than sharing one palette for
everything, which gave it a greyish
look, Super SWIV was much more
colourful. In some ways, it took
away the edge that Amiga SWIV
had and sort of 'cute-ified' SWIV,
but that was the Nintendo style,
and I still really like it.
For the American version I
believe they renamed the game
Firepower 2000, and an extra
level was added with graphics
by Rob Whittaker. Rob also
illustrated the opening scenes."

Loved this game and the big ass BOOOOOOOM sound effects lol
Me and my father used to play this we tried as hard as we could but we only got up to the third level I would’ve loved for him to see the ending was a tribute to our teamwork to everything we do together even used to let me get all the power ups and plays the Jeep which is more difficult than helicopter I love him I miss him and I thank you this This meant a lot to see them both get into jet’s takeoff it definitely would have made him smile
It was really a difficult game
This game was marketed as Super SWIV in Europe. It kicks arse :-)
We had the game in US but it was never advertised at all =(. Me and my brother gave it a chance cause we used to rent games on weekends to play together.
The part in level 3 where you go from being a buggy to a boat was probably the best thing that ever happened to me during my gaming childhood XD
Once again, Earth is safe thanks to you, mate.
Play through the volcano stage, for example, and try to imagine any other tune ever doing it justice. At such moments, the levels feel like a rhythmic extension of the soundtrack. When you reach a boss encounter, the pace actually rises to the occasion with a quicker pace.
This takes me back! I think I need to dust it off and play it again!
Even with todays standards, it still look amazing after all these years.
Btw, build up the choper first with the blue spread a give the green laser to the tank
The theme song of this take me back to my childhood!!!
Love the intro. Dope beatz.
Thumbs up for the great music, Amiga quality. Unfortunately is has a level missing compared to the Mega Drive version (Mega Swiv).
made up for by better sounds and graphics though on the snes version. plus the genesis version came out 2 years later, so that gave them more time to add something new/ different
huh. The inspiration for Raptor
Wish this would be on the Nintendo Network. I start a two player game as the heli and grab as many power ups as possible before the player 2 tank gets killed off. By that point I have a pretty formidable vehicle and can get through the game on one play.
doesn't look to be any slowdown even in 2 player mode
The music was so cool

Memories
5:34 A big splosion.
I remember there was some sort of trick back then for 1 player to control both vehicles haha
Highlight the two players option press start+A(one player both vehicles)
Jeep ruled. Helicopter sucked balls.
Specially in 3rd level, where EVERYTHING flew
Good Times.
Similar sound effects and music to Super Turrican.
Wait... This is a sequel to SilkWorm?
Really?
How does this relate to Amiga SWIV ? Was that a port of the same game done by different company, ripoff using similar sprites ?
Jeeps the best but when ur the jet shit gets real
Programmed by Steve Snake? Kega Fusion and Kgen98 emulator guy?
Why had nothing topped this game
Did you shoot the shields? Or use them!?
Deu até vontade de jogar agora 🤓🤓🤓
Is this a remake of Swiv? The levels look the same.
yes

I had this stinky piece of shit. The boss theme is the theme from The Terminator.
It was not a bad game at all.
Silly game...
