If somebody can afford it, they should just go with the Bravia 9, it is the better TV. Now the biggest reason for buying the best possible TV you can despite the price tag is simply put you’re gonna be looking at this TV for the next 5 to 10 years so it’s worth the investment to buy the best you can get. The reality is every year better TVs are gonna come out so the Bravia 9 is the best TV today. It’s not gonna be in two years from now but it’ll still look really good.
I bought the Bravia 7 for a great black Friday deal but the 9 may have better contrast which isn't a better trade for 800 dollars or more when they both have about the same specs and performance ( 7 looks absolutely amazing btw )
Abby with RTings basically said there is not enough difference in the two to warrant the difference in price. She recommended the 7 for the masses and the 9 for those that have to have the absolute best.
I would spent that more money to get the B9 over the B7. B9 has a more depth picture, bit better colors, lot more dimming zones, much better viewing angles because xwide angle tech and even the better integrated sound system. That all is worth for me the plus on price. 😊
At double the price at 65 inches? I think the vast majority of people would not agree. We all want the best but like a comedian said "why do we need the best? what makes us so special that great or amazing just isn't good enough? " The Bravia 7 is a crazy good TV at an incredible price.
@@techsamurai11 Ofc the B7 is an amazing TV. But aside the money aspect ... if you habe the spare money and dont care to pay more ... than you get definitely more from the B9, just facts. 😉
@@techsamurai11 But yes ... on 65 inches the B9 is way too expensive. For me I compare for example B7 85" vs B9 85" because I want to upgrade from my 8 years old Samsung LCD tv 😉
@@Kelturio The B7 is practically indistinguishable from the B9. And even better the 75 X93L is on a heavy sale and that one ticks a lot of the differences between the B7 and B9 like anti-reflective coating and x-wide filter tha the B7 skimped on. The truth is that very few people can really afford the B9. They may think they can or have $4,500 in the bank but that's why only 13% of people can rely on their savings to retire. The rest need Social Security. Many people with incomes close to 7 figures would think twice about the B9.
Cmon people, say it with me "It's just a TV" ....... Someone spending $3000 or more on TVs that will simply be surpassed in 2 years by better technology is pretty stupid financially. Sony TV prices are ridiculous at that. Sony used to represent quality, reliability at an affordable price....but not anymore. No, I don't hate Sony either. I've tried this year the Sony Bravia 8, A95L, and I'm sorry but they didn't vastly out perform my OLEDs and FALD TVs that I currently use. Further, Sony has also removed features from their prior past models like no smooth gradation feature on the Sony Bravia 8 or even motion features as well. It's sad what Sony has been doing the last 7 years meanwhile being surprised by Samsung & LG. Until Sony comes out with a TV that makes me go "WoW!".....I will not buy another Sony TV, especially not at their current Ridiculous prices.
You do have a point - TVs should come with built-in replaceable ambient lighting especially bias lighting since these TVs are probably unwatchable in a dark room and will tire your eyes in minutes. Philips did it but they charged an arm and a leg. You definitely don't want the floating camera so you'd need a HDMI 2.1 passthrough to ensure that the lights react properly to the image.
The brightness rating of 5 on the 9 is clearly not equivalent to the brightness rating of 5 on the 7 🙂 But anyway, you always have to change the TV's color temp to Warm1 or Warm2 and tinker with color to get the Sony to look its best. Once you do that though, you don't have to leave the Standard setting EVER and you'll never look at Cinema or Filmmaker Mode without running for a bucket 🙂

Good analysis

Hence the reason I named the B9 the Heavyweight Champ and the B7 The People's Champ.
@ The 9 for millionaires and 7 for everyone else.

Get the 7 and use the money you're saving to get a killer soundbar or sound system. Easy.
9 is better but not $1,000 more imo. I’m very satisfied with my 7 85 😅
Can you do a “best picture settings “ video? Getting mine tomorrow! Can’t wait
Sale price $1800 vs $3500 is $1700 difference--not $1200...Cmon Man!😂
Either way, you'll be ok 👍🏾

Don’t put them at the same settings. Place them at equal brightness to compare
what is the difference between the 2 in a dark viewing setting??????????????
Im waiting for the B7 85" to go on sale for $2000
The "untechnical tech channel" - you got your channel name there 🙂
Happy Holiday
To you too man! 👊🏾
turn the 7s brightness up/try to match the 9
Great Review! I've had them both...anyone on the fence, I would get the 85inch B7 over the 75in B9.
$3500 to $1800 isn't $1200, it's a $1700 difference. That's almost double.
Neither. Get the Bravia 8. OLED FTW!
😁😁😁👍👍👍👐👐👐👐🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Bravia 9 is clearly better
Bravia 7 color looks quite bland.
Hmmmm.... could it be just because it's sitting next to the Bravia 9? I watch the B7 all the time and never feel like I'm missing out on anything.
