- Football is a game of highs and lows but it's not often they happen within a minute of a match. Vinaròs CF goalkeeper Carlos Aguayo Torres scored a wonderful curling effort from outside of the area to level the scores. However, just moments later, he was lobbed by a ACD Peñíscola player to take the scores to 2-1. The referee's full-time whistle blew just a few minutes later

The camera work is perfect as well, you get the exact same time to react to it as the keeper did.

It's not the job of the ref to make anyone wait. If all the players were in their own half then it's perfectly fine to play. The goalkeeper's temamates should have stayed in the opponent's half and then they can't play it.
@@OGmetro no. But there is this universal thing called sportsmanship. Like when a play goes down during play and the opposing team kicks the ball out and the team of the downed player kicks the ball back to the other team when play resumes.
Surely his team mates need to take the blame for that? They should have stayed in the other half to give him time to get back!

I thought the ref had to wait until everyone is ready, but that is just "normal" practice. The FIFA rule only states "all players, except the player taking the kick off, must be in their own half of the field of play".
A much more common and hence infuriating thing for me is that the drastically-varying wait-time before a free-kick is taken. Usually, the referee enforces an elaborate setup period, insisting that the kicker waits for the signal, while sometimes the kicker is allowed to take the free-kick immediately, before anyone else is ready!
