Panenka penalty goes wrong in Romanian league match

- George Călințaru, an attacker playing for Juventus Bucureşti in the Romanian Liga I, fluffed his lines with the last kick of the game on Saturday. Juventus were awarded a penalty for handball, beyond the four minutes of additional time in their game with Steaua Bucharest. Călințaru stepped up and panenkaed the ball right into the arms of the grateful keeper, before being confronted by several angry team-mates

He knew he just made a mistake. But the teammates....no one would like to play along with that kind of teammates.
When you remember you had bet your whole life on under 3.5
That's why a successful Panenka is so nice to see. Because this could happen
Despicable 'teammates'. If he had scored with the panenka, they'd be off celebrating with him. How fickle and pathetic. The club should ban the prick teammate picking on him. Sticking in the knife, when the guy is already distraught. Awful mentality. Pathetic.
There's another side to that coin. You work hard for 95 min to win, or at least bring a point home with one of the best teams in the championship and in the end one of your teammates does that at 2-1... I mean, seriously, wouldn't you be angry? I would.
It's also the capitan's or coach's fault giving this huge responsibility to a player that can do something as stupid as this.
Roz Sa...oh dear...dont stick up for the joker... he deserves a few slaps.you only take a penalty like that if your team is 2 or 3 goals ahead not 2-1 down in the last minute of the game! what if at the end of the season that team misses out on promotion or gets relegated by 1 point, whos to blame? Yes that not so intelligent footballer whatever his name is !
I don't care how you make it, I'll still celebrate. I don't care how you miss, it's still a miss.
You've obviously never been part of a team, regardless of it being sport or workplace. People make mistakes. People take risks and sometimes risks don't come off. It is sport at the end of the day. Lose or win, you can't chastise people just because of a missed penalty. It is part and parcel of the game. Mistakes happen. The lack of team ethic on the part of those holding him to account on the pitch in front of the cameras is nothing short of disgraceful. Real teams deal with issues in the dressing room. If you're arrogant and self centred enough not to accept knock backs, then don't get involved in team sports. The reality is that the person who missed the penalty will be more distraught than any of his teammates. So why make it worse? What does negativity achieve? Absolutely nothing, unless its constructive.
But that is football. That is team sport. What about if he had scored, and then a couple of seconds later, one of his teammates committed an awful last man foul, got sent off and gave away a penalty? What is the difference? It is just another mistake. He took a risk and it didn't pay off. What would've happened had it paid off? They'd be off celebrating. What about if he hit the penalty in a 'traditional' way and it hit the post? What if he scuffed it and it flew over the bar. At the end of the day, it is still just a penalty miss. The one striking point to take away is DON'T DO YOUR DIRTY WASHING IN PUBLIC. The top teams, the ones with great team ethic deal with team issues internally. He might have been scolded in the changing room. It happens all the time. He also would've been the first person to apologise for the missed penalty. Baggio took a penalty in a world cup final when not 100% fit. You could argue that it was irresponsible of him to take a pen when clearly injured. It is the same thing. Ultimately, it is just a penalty miss. Some prospective is needed. Scolding someone on the pitch post making a mistake is just being a twat.
I admire his confident to take panenka. Its okey bro,not end of the world.
It kinda was the end of The club, lol. After this penalty the club relegated and the club disbanded

You figure the keeper will dive, they always dive, so you go for the audacious “Panenka” chip. If it’s good enough for Zidane, it’s good enough for you - right? Wrong.
Despite dancing around on the line like a disco Bruce Grobbelaar, once you actually take the kick Florin Niţă in the Steaua goal doesn’t move. Funny development. The penalty taker and the number 8 who was abusing him are current team mates in second division playing for CSA Steaua București. FCSB and CSA both claim the history of the historic Steaua București club. No. 8, Bărbulescu, claimed after this penalty that he had no issue with Călințaru blasting a shot in the crossbar or any other ”normal” miss, he was annoyed at the casual attempt. Still, you don't do that in public, that's a discussion for the locker room.
So people are sympathetic towards someone who missed a panenka? Let me CLARIFY his action: a panenka is synonymous to kicking a corner as a rabona. It’s to humiliate the opponent. Now hypothetically speaking: Di Maria kicks a corner kick like a rabona for Benfica trailed by 1. Do y’all really think his teammates are not gonna fume to his decision?
