Sharing by-products and beyond: industrial symbiosis as a new strategy for companies to turn waste into value
🔍 In this episode, Valentina Ventura, a PhD student at the DIMSAI Doctoral School, presents a summary of her research about industrial symbiosis and digital technologies within the circular economy perspective.
💡 The goal of her PhD is to investigate mathematical models and digital tools to facilitate the exchange of industrial by-products within a network of cross-sectorial companies, reducing costs and emissions. Specifically, she’s working on a digital platform based on a marketplace for secondary raw materials.

💡 L'obiettivo del suo dottorato è studiare modelli matematici e strumenti digitali per facilitare lo scambio di sottoprodotti industriali all'interno di una rete di aziende intersettoriali, riducendo costi ed emissioni. In particolare, sta lavorando a una piattaforma digitale che si basa su un mercato di materie prime secondarie.
