Good evening Steve. I didn't have time to watch this morning , click and collect at Sainsburys ! She who speaks ..... ! Very close to starting , l can already here that lovely straight six purring like a kitten ! I never tired of the lovely signature as my Vitesse started up ! (That's 43 years back!) The TR6 is gorgeous but sounds anxious to get up and go where as the 2litre is silky smooth! So wish we were nearer , l'd love to turn that wreck into the beauty that lurks deep within ! Thanks Steve.
Yeah I know what you mean, a 6 pot Triumph on carbs has a lovely purr to it. Well never say never with restoring it. Danny (the owner) is looking for someone to restore the body on it 👍
Good job Steve. Refurbed Radiator looks great. That’s one of the scruffy looking things on my 250...but, it’s original and it’s been cleaned and tested so it’s staying (for now 😉).
I think it's the little details that matter, and stuff like the Coventry stamp just sets it off better than what you don't get on aftermarket parts. Good on yas sticking with your original radiator too 👍
Good vid yet again changing oil and filter today wheels back on off axle stands and I’m taking her out can’t wait first run this yr it will be nice to hear the new exhaust under acceleration
Nice start to Saturday watching someone else work lol. Wish that bonnet was a bit more stable - I wince every time it moves . At last the better weather is here . All the best for the end of lockdown Steve.
Cheers John, I swear one of these days the bonnet will just fall off. Hopefully Danny (the owner) will send the car off to get the bodywork sorted out soon 👍
That bonnet is in excellent nick! Just needs a little TLC. ;) I bypassed my heater matrix the same way. Works a treat. Can't wait to see how you progress.
@@SteveDentonClassics this is a good start on me rebuilding my bonnet. It's further along now, ready for paint. ua-cam.com/video/uk4ZvlZqJYg/v-deo.html
Another great video Steve. It certainly gives me the encouragement and confidence to do jobs on my car that I've not tackled before. Getting close with the GT6, have you got the exhaust already for it? Looking forward to your next video 👍
Cheers mate, I'm glade my videos are encouraging you to do your own car. That what I like about making them. I've always said if they just help one person, then they have done there job. I do now have the exhaust, so keep your eye peeled for the video 👍
Cheers Aaron, it's red rubber grease. It's brilliant stuff as it has no bad effects on rubber, and unlike using washing up liquid, their is no salt in red rubber grease, so it's friendly to the metal parts too 👍
Cheers William, it's just red rubber grease, you can buy it off eBay. It's much better than using say washing up liquid, as washing up liquid has salt in it, where as red rubber grease will have no effect on the rubber or metal parts other than helping slip them on easier 👍

Nice one Ian, nothing like getting out there in a good old classic for a drive in the countryside 👍

Bit of polish on the bonnet and it'll buff out 😂 I'm hoping to get the car up and running soon 👍

Good choice getting the rad reconditioned, looks so good though I think you need to give the bonnet a lick of paint to match, black would look good :)
Cheers John, you and your black paint 😂

nice video Steve. out of interest what is in the pot? you smear it on the pipes before you fit them

Enjoy watching the progress. What is the red compound being used on the fittings? RTV? Rubber Grease? Thanks
