Keep up the great work Robert don't get discouraged I love your videos I love just hearing about this story about you flying and choppers and cutting big trees down and that's a beautiful scenery behind you I live in Niagara Falls Ontario so it's very appreciative to see that beautiful nature up there
Hey Robert, great stitching job on the cowling of your machine. And I thought I was the last one doing the lost art of patchwork. Keep up the great work and have a great 2021. We all need it. Garv, Fenelon Falls Ontario.
Robert, always remember that we all watch and love your videos because of you. Whether you catch fur or not or whatever you put on your videos you are awesome awesome. I especially enjoy when you tell stories with your Bannock and coffee. Even if you just told your experiences and stories in the north it would be awesome. Stay safe my friend.
Your on the right path, keep sharing your trapping and experiences and the beauty of the surroundings that the Lord has blessed you with. I appreciate your humbleness and kindness very much. And even though there isn't much in your traps, I appreciate very much going along with you and enjoying the beauty of your area and the stories you have to tell.
My favorite things about your channel are your stories, showing us how you do things, and your great attitude. Keep up the great work! Awesome awesome.
Hello Robert, thank you for your videos. I enjoy them. In this video I heard and saw that you have two things from that you wolf that was on your trail; I learned from my dad, who was an expert wolf man, even into his 80s. He would gather their yellow snow and poop find along his trails and use the gathering to dress up his sets. he even used what comes from a bitch that is in heat. Yes, he was a great trapper. I am near 77 and I fully enjoy trapping. You may not believe me but I have a whole lot of country to trap; me nearest neighbor is 52 mile away. I have trap lines that are near 50 years and through most of it there has not been another track made other than my own or my boys and grandsons. Robert I prayed for a great new year for you; for good health, happy family and successes in all your ventures.
Please don't feel like you need to apologize for anything. Your gift to us is simply spending time with us, sharing your knowledge, and taking us on your adventures. That's enough, and if you catch something, that's a bonus. Happy trails, Robert!
maybe if you nail the trap and the box to the tree up side down wit a lil stick roof and use beaver meat that how set my marten traps but keep it up robert you the man!
Most people don’t understand the ingenuity it take to make something out of nothing and don’t understand how hard things really are out in the bush. At least your out doing something you love to do, plus we enjoy watching. But we also understand you also need to do what you need to do. When are you going to go back to grandpa cabin. Really loved watching you out there on the line also.
Your videos are so good you have real problems and you share them with us you have a big extended family out here ❤ keep doing what your doing Robert and it should get better just a normal guy doing what he loves ❤👍👍✌
when i was out in the trap line years ago we would use peanuts butter with whiskey mixed that was the bait lol but it worked and we would make a fire with pine or spruce and make it smoke next to the traps we do that to all the traps down the line and we walk the line down to the last trap and back to the road and home and we go there one day a week and there was times we got nothing for weeks but we just kept going, things well get better just got to keep at it keep going and going my friend all the best to you on the line
To fix your 1986 Tundra, you need to cut 3/4" off of each side of an old 1974-1981 TNT Everest track. To do this, I use a reciprocal saw (Sawzall) and keep oil on the blade so it does not grab and shake so badly. MANY Ski Doo tracks made between 1974 and 1983 broke just like yours. The older tracks were 10 times stronger and NEVER wore out and NEVER broke, even if they looked bad. The track must have 63 holes and cut off 3/4" from each side, OK? OK! Here are some tips: Bolt or clamp your track between 2 short (3') 2'x4'' boards (bolt or clamp through the holes in the track) (one board on the top of the track and one board under the bottom of the track). This will help guide your cutting. You can cut the rubber with a sharp knife but the fiberglass rods will have to be cut with a hack saw blade if you don't have a Sawzall. Make sure to burn the edges of the cut track (with a propane torch or something). to get rid of the strings (watch out for fires when you burn the strings). This works good for me. My wife and I enjoy your show very much, especially the stories of the old days and old ways. Your video of Awesome Lake at sunset was great, best ever. From John and Coleen of Fishhook, Alaska.
Anishnaa Robert , Maybe you could do a walk through your community and introduce us to some of the town folks . Keep up the Awesome work ! Miigwech Billy Curve Lake First Nation .
Robert , the people dont care what your doing , they watch because they like you ! so...dont apologize for things you have no control over . when you start feeling sorry ,you will start looking down and not walking tall, you will start feeling sorry and stumble , then what do you have? tell us your stories while you do things around the rez , about the things you have seen ,about things you have done , thats what people want , ... just you and your stories , so be proud and walk tall .
Hi Robert & other viewers. I will use a popular sentence coming from the 60's when Neil Amstrong walked on the surface of the moon: "... one small step for man, one giant leap for humanity ...``. Education is continuous. It`s a small movement, a little bit like those in the nature (ex: geology, universe expansion, ...). As a person who chooses to teach something, remember that education = change. You expect change for the trainee, but it has effects on the trainer too. You change, your methods change. You adapt to situations (ex: trapping, mechanics, ...). As a trainer, you have to be a good story teller. The "bad lucks" become what we call "`counter-examples" in education or simply call them examples to use in your stories. You are good at it. You told us you were comfortable on radio, as well as you are on your channel. Cheers to you, our favorite "teacher"! ☕
Keep up the good work Robert! It's okay you didn't catch anything this time but you always gotta expect that! I'm really interested in your stories, you should keep telling us your experiences.
Hi Robert. It's hard to tell another man what to do, when you have never walked in his shoes. I sense your frstration, and I sometimes feel it too when I am watching you trap. I have watched other trappers be very successful when they use Martin Boxes. If forces the martin to enter the trap. No getting around the trap. I think you should convert all your pole sets to box sets. Keep the far end of the box covered with hardware cloth. It allows air to move through the box and would help with spreading out the bait smell. Use stinkier bait, like rotten fish, if you cannot smell the bait from 6 feet away, its not strong enough. Anyway, just my ideas, hoping it might help you.
I love watching your videos, Robert. These videos where you don't catch anything just show people the reality of trapping, and the reality of life really, nobody just goes out and gets what they want, it takes a lot of work and patients. If you want more ideas on more content, I always like your native crafts videos! You should try and make some snowshoes or medicine pouch or other traditional crafts. I don't know if you have any moose hide left, but maybe a pair of mitts with a nice fur trim? Its always good to just hear the sound of your voice though.
Robert , to some of us who'll never get to see the country you live in, just the pure beauty of being out there is enough.. I trap and it's always a roller coaster ride for your emotions.. It'll get so low you think about quitting and then things will turn your way again.. It's life buddy, it isn't scripted or like a movie, it's the real deal and we can all see that.. Stay focused on your message of truth and honor, the rest will sort itself out.. I take inspiration from how much you make from nothing, sometimes a bannock and coffee in that scenery is worth the whole video.. Do what you Love Amigo it'll all go to the good in the end.
Hi Robert. Made some "Badine Bannock" with raisins and a little cinnamon too. Very good with my morning coffee before clearing snow today! Thanks for sharing your recipe!
Happy new year Robert may many blessings come your way in the next year. My thoughts and prayers go out to you on a daily basis brother. Much peace and love from northeast Texas.
Robert...wahcheay. I really enjoy watching your videos. I have learnt quite a bit of things from watching you. I like your positive attitude. It encourages me to keep going out on the land. I am from Moose Factory Ontario, which is located on the tip of James Bay.(51.2625° N, 80.5930° W) Keep it up with the videos.
Keep it up i watch your videos with my son and he loves of them and I like them too. you teach us and listening to you is like listening to my uncles it's awesome
Don’t get discouraged Robert. That’s the way it goes. Sometimes you get lots of fur other times ya don’t. Just keep making the videos of the experience. One thing I really like about your work is that it is not all set up. It’s as it happens as it is. Don’t loose that.
No need to ever apologize for anything it's life bro and things happen believe me I feel ya cause that's exactly how things go for me also, I always tell the ole lady if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck!!!!
I'm learning so much from your adventures (even when you don't catch)... I'm learning a lot from your attitude ... just keep going okay? Okay : ) best of luck! Would love to learn more about trapping / hunting / fishing / living off the land / the traditional knowledge and ways of life. Use technology as a tool to keep the knowledge from the elders.
I'm new to your channel, great videos I enjoy your videos and sense of humor. The wildlife will be moving soon enough, taking a break will reinvigorate you. Take us with you fishing, or just take it cool and tune up Bertha. Have you tried calling in a wolf with a game call and maybe harvest one that way
Dont worry about apologies....just do what you do...being yourself is what makes it more relatable and maybe someone need to hear this and will learn how to just be themselves by watching your channel. Gawd speed my brother.
Robert, what you were trying to convey is that you should judge people by there character not there life style or there race or color of there skin. You put a lot in your videos to show us you’re life and how you live do not apologize to us. Those who complain can go watch other channels. You are a very good person and you will be rewarded later. Just keep doing what ever you want we will keep watching and hoping things will work out for you. God Bless you and your family, you have come far.
Robert, last year you talked about getting together with some of the elders so they could tell stories of the old days. I’m sure that would make for some great content. Peace and thanks.
Robert, this is real life! What would be the fun in someone that has all of the best trapping gear. You never give up and make things work. Never give up! What about the Rabbits?
Hey Robert, I've been watching for over a year now, I enjoy every video you post, for ot not you're awesome .... Shout out from Little Saskatchewan, Manitoba
You don't have to chance anything Robert, Just keep doing what you're doing, everyone still watches your content no matter what. I understand it must be frustrating for you, but you are doing what you love to do which really means a lot these days. PEACE.
No need to apologize for anything. I enjoy the fact that you keep it real. Breakdowns, issues, are part of every day real life. your time will come. Keep your chin up, and keep doing what you are doing.
Definitely not going to quit there are times I feel like I want to quit and then I don't. I got to go out and see the full moon on the Beaver pond tonight and I know that the ice is thickening up and it might be safe to walk out there soon and the beavers are asleep in the lodge well they're not really asleep but they're hanging out in there doing their stuff and there's probably other creatures in there too like the otters and other people who spend the winter in the Beaver Lodge So don't give up I know you won't thanks for making the good videos.
Always nice to watch your adventures. Whether you catch anything or not it is nice to see how you setup you traps. Very interesting stuff. Your stories are cool too. If you go after beaver that would be interesting. Do you have any muskrats ?
Hello TRT I like them ole sleds when their working good I like the older things better than all the plastic things they make today like cars/ trucks an sleds lots of things are cheaply made an to expensive to buy I’ll stick with the older things. Long as I can ✌️from The Apache Truck guy in Alberta Ok....ok
When there are wolves in the area do the other animals move out? When wolves move into some of my areas the other animal numbers tumble. I agree with some of the previous comments. There is fishing to do in the winter. You can make videos about that and how you do it. I to am curious about the cabin and that area. Not legal to trap there right now? Can’t get there? Is the new computer up and running? There are beaver in that one beaver house you showed us. Lots of work to trap beaver through the ice but it would be interesting to see. Snares work under the ice for beaver. There is Chaga to collect. There must be wintergreen plants in your area? Wintergreen tea from the leaves and berries is awesome. How to do that would be interesting. Foraging for treats in the woods would be an interesting addition to your channel. Lots of ideas Robert.
Lmao I can relate to you more than someone driving a 15,000$ snow machine, you inspired me, I’ll get out some sets, send you something. I wasn’t going to trap this year prices too low. I’m going now thanks
Robert i trapped many years in northern ontario . You might not always get them but being out yhere is good for the soul . keep on keeping on have a good year best of luck.
Hi Robert! I have been watching your channel for a year and I like it the way it is, fur or no fur. But if you wish to try something new with your channel, how about adding interviews. One thing I would like to see is you talk to other people in your community, I am curious about the elders, and also about the younger ones. How do they look on the future and the past? You have amazing stories and I am sure other people do to.
Good attitude Robert. We all have trials and tribulations that's the way life is. Its how we deal with these experiences that determines what kind of human we are. If you keep going and not give up better times will come. Maybe you could do some chainsaw carvings or build a totem pole or a teepee and stay in it a few night in the winter. My brother did that in Hinton Alberta one winter.
When it rains it pours Brother we all have those days , there are no problems ONLY solutions!!! That Wolf is marking that trail as his ! You should have pissed on that trail show him who’s BOSS 😂 We all love your Video’s Robert weather you catch anything or not. Keep the Faith my Friend the Great Spirit will Bless the One’s that stay strong. We Love you just the way you are...❤️❤️❤️ Do you ever do any Ice Fishing?
Robert your awesome me and my family love watching you. It the fun on being out on the land. my kids would love it if you would say there names in your shout out summer Skyler Haylie hunter and Charlie Schlitter we are from Sask canada
You are doing well. You need a bate station. Start ice fishing for bate.Slash some trees for rabbit . You get rabbits you get everything else. Build your habitat. Then they will come.
Set more traps sooner or later your luck will change. Just enjoy watching you and listening to stories too. Keep going you will feel better and be in better shape the more you go.
Pee on the trail poop on the trail i dont think that wolf likes your trail lol Just keep on doing what you are doing. Eventually they will find your food
Yes true we love your videos if there is some one that watches Roberts videos let’s start a fund help for Robert I would but I don’t know how he needs a skidoo and maybe a trap line let’s show what love can do please !!
Hey Robert, any chance you could interview some of the Elders around there, so they can tell stories about how things were done when they were younger? Just an idea. I enjoy your video's even if you don't catch anything. lol Take care and Happy New Year to you and your family.
Keep up the great work Robert don't get discouraged I love your videos I love just hearing about this story about you flying and choppers and cutting big trees down and that's a beautiful scenery behind you I live in Niagara Falls Ontario so it's very appreciative to see that beautiful nature up there

Great job Robert we enjoy all your videos thanks for sharing your everyday life travel well my friend
You are not the only trapper with empty traps out your way. They all say the temperature is to warm.So the best is yet to come!!!
OK!

Keep doing what you are doing. No need to change a thing,I myself enjoy the simplest things you do and say. It's awesome how you keep Bertha going.
Hang in there Robert. Hoping a new trap line opportunity comes your way in 2021.. you’re awesome. ✌🏼

Robert , to some of us who'll never get to see the country you live in, just the pure beauty of being out there is enough.. I trap and it's always a roller coaster ride for your emotions..
Keep Going and Going and Going Robert I really hope the new year is the best for you....peace!!
When the going gets tough the tough get going. Keep at it Bob. I dont see any hanglng pieces if fur, foil , ribbon to the animals attention.
Hi Colon - great suggestions!

You are doing well. You need a bate station. Start ice fishing for bate.Slash some trees for rabbit . You get rabbits you get everything else. Build your habitat. Then they will come.
Hang in there. I just found you and I'm enjoying it. Maybe move traps around?

I think that trapline is about trapped out brother.
You don’t just trap you show us how to survive and adapt in the environment and how to interact with other human beings and animals
Hey Robert, any chance you could interview some of the Elders around there, so they can tell stories about how things were done when they were younger? Just an idea. I enjoy your video's even if you don't catch anything. lol Take care and Happy New Year to you and your family.
