This is awesome! I slept on the Hobonichi and Stirling Ink planner drops, and I’m using that money for the Travelers Company drop because THATS what I use. Yeah there’s FOMO, but no guilt. I know what I use.
I hate FOMO and companies that use it as a marketing tool. For me it's not the feeling of staying behind because I don't post on social media or compare my planner to anyone else but I get a "oh, I didn't know that existed" feeling. Also Instagram is a really bad influence. I started daily journaling in July and know I'm buying way too many stickers to use in the journal for next year I haven't even ordered yet. And Temu made that so much worse. It has the shiny stuff with the "only x items left" to feed the Fomo. Also the sound on the video has a really weird reverb on your voice.
You are so right! It's that discovering something new feeling that really pushes you to want to buy something too. Oh yeah Instagram has really influenced me too, to the point that I have had to take breaks from it. This month I have hardly posted on there because I don't want to get on the app as much LOL. Thanks for the feedback! My room is kind of empty and there's a lot of echo so I am getting a better microphone to avoid that 😅
