I remember sitting behind the scorers desk at JCA during a Phoenix game a couple years back, talking to the people around me. Out of nowhere, one of them yells out "Hey Homicide, how you doing Brother?". We all turned, as Corey stopped, turned around, faced us front on and said with a massive smile "I'm doing great my man, doing great." For me, it was the body language, he had walked past where we were sitting, could have ignored us, could just glanced back over his shoulder. Instead, he gave his full attention. That meant the world to us. Seeing him sitting at Phoenix games was amazing. A legend, an Icon.

Corey got me in you the NBL, and basketball in general; something I'm sure will be a lifelong interest. For that I'll always be grateful to him. Thanks Homicide. I'll never forget his futuristic space jackets that rustled on the microphones. Love to you Corey, appreciate you

What a legend. I knew it didnt look good when he was at the awards ceremony a few months ago. It was pretty much a good bye imo. And turns out, yes that was the case. This guy helped get the NBL back out of the dark ages in this country. And for that, I will be forever indebted. RIP Homicide.

Met Corey when I moved to Australia to teach at James Cook University, Townsville. We bonded immediately over our Jamaican heritage. Hung out a few times when he played his basketball for Townsville Crocodiles. Saddened by his passing. RIP Corey. Real yaadie 🇯🇲 he was♥️
