@@crcanassr Yes Carlos, those plays by Shakespeare you mentioned had some actors who were all time greats for any age - Sir Alec Guinness and Sir Laurence Olivier! Why can't America have actors like them?
Romeo and Juliet has been made into a movie many times, but I especially love this version because of Nino Rota's music. The main theme is played many times in the film, and among them, I absolutely love the melody of Romeo's death scene, where the main and secondary melodies intertwine beautifully and express indescribable beauty.

In the description you find more information about it, although I have to say the CD has its price by now. But great to know you are already pleased with this suite. Thank you! Fred
Thanks for upload. This is pure original soundtrack in 1968 film(I bought the LP in that period) . Is it possible to get OST CD including complete Nino Rota Recording.? By the way it can not be believed that this score was not nominated to Academy Awards in 1968.(Best original score : In this year John Barry's "The Lion in Winter")
@@bryan1687 In reality nobody knows who Shakespeare was. There are many theories, and many "impersonators", some of them women. Having visited Stratford-Upon-Avon, seen William Shakespeare's final resting place, visited his birth place, Anne Hathaway's home, and having read a lot about the different theories about Shakespeare, I stick with the Bard of Avon, and Ben Jonson's testimony about "the Sweet Swan of Avon" (First Folio) . There are times in the history of humanity when people of great genius arise out of nowhere to change the world. Shakespeare was one and so were Bach, Mozart, and Cervantes (just to mention a few).
❤ I saw this movie years ago (1968) at the Chelmsford Cinema in Massachusetts...when it first came out. So many people cried. I'm not so sure it would be popular today in 2024. Probably be condemned by LGBT as an expression of hate speech and made illegal by law.
Are my comments being deleted because they contain links? If that is the case, I'll just make statements about where I am getting my information. IMDB says Romeo and Juliet 1968 was banned in Ontario and is no longer banned in Ontario. It doesn't say when the ban was introduced or lifted. Wikipedia says the film is banned in Ontario, citing a 1981 book on Canadian censorship. I suspect the ban was lifted only recently, since the Wikipedia page has not been updated. A Prezi presentation someone is using for teaching purposes says child pornography was the reason for the ban.
It's the main orchestral theme of the movie ... but the cheesy lyrics you refer to were added later so the Andy Williamses of the world could try to ruin our memories of this wonderful soundrack
This is my favourite film and can’t even explain what this soundtrack makes me feel ❤❤❤❤❤

Just Wonderfoul!!!❤💖❤
Most beautiful part starts at 12:02
@Mali J I think it's called What Is A Youth
Omg when I watched it in school as the quietest in my English class with no friends, everyone looked at me and told me i also looked exactly like her 🥹🫶🏻 I felt acknowledged lol, you must be really pretty!
I saw this movie when I was13 I got the album just love it!!
Oh...Thank you for creating this video! I just found it! I have the soundtrack from 1968 with the dialogue highlights. I did not know an instrumental soundtrack was available. Is there one on DVD or Vinyl? No matter. :-) Having this video here to listen to is wonderful! Thank you so much! Beautifully done! :-)
Hello Kim,
very nice to hear you enjoy Rota's work so much!
The music was taken from the "Cloud Nine Records" CD release.
Such a powerful soundtrack.l,years ago to mow...🙇🙏

Shakespeare will live forever, "he is not of an age but for all times"!
Carlos R Canas did you know that Shakespeare wasn’t just one guy, but in fact a group of people
@@bryan1687 In reality nobody knows who Shakespeare was.
It is a beautiful film.
A Beauty!
Thank you!
Simplesmente lindo!!!!!!
"Now hie thee home, fragment!"
lol! I said that on a political sparring session with an adversary on a news site. It got a few likes as well.
Lots of fans out there.
@@tomodonovan5931 Yeah! I said it to my brother-in-law once, following a dispute and he looked shocked! 😂😂
Romeo and Juliet when on to live
A long life. Olivia. Michael.
Is this a song or part? But what is this called ? On 14:04
Amo esta banda sonora...
Thanks.
Is "A Time for Us" in the movie or was made after? I swear I heard it in the movie, but I don't hear it here, unless I'm mistaken.
It's the main orchestral theme of the movie ... but the cheesy lyrics you refer to were added later so the Andy Williamses of the world could try to ruin our memories of this wonderful soundrack
