Really enjoyed watching this its just what I was looking for....This being the land of my farthers, and my farther just having died age 96.....he and his family were from billy row....they lived there as far as I know from at least the mid 1800s....all the men worked next door in wooley colliery. my dad and his family left Billy Row Crook in the year 1923 due to there being no work...so he and his parents my grandad and grandma and his 5 brothers & 2 sisters all came down to south Yorkshire to work at Silverwood colliery/pit...he worked there from 14 yrs of age until he retired.....he was a tipical geordi boy...I , Flat cap waistcoat neckerchief corduroy trousers boots And two greyhounds on each arm...yes he was always well known for walking his dogs about 8 miles a day..thats what kept the pit dust off his chest and enabled him to live an unusually long life ( for a miner )…...thanks to these vids I can see why he missed his home town. although he was only 7 yrs old at the time he remembered it very well...sid Watson the greyhound man...was a very well liked and respected chap...I have watched many vids of crook Stanley and billy row and the naigbouring sunniside and I can really understand why he missed it...they are a fantastic community...…….funny thing is, is he moved to a place called sunnyside Rotherham.....but sunnyside with a Y Not a I....thankyou Pancrack. Really well filmed down to earth documentary style vlog...made me feel very happy,,,and also a little sad...…..brilliant

thanks grimseeker. It is over 20 years old now this. A super friendly bunch of people. The only place I ever filmed where a voice shouted me in off the street to a pot of tea and biscuits laid out in the front room. An old couple completely trusting and salt of the earth. The old pit community spirit still survives in Durham!
