Thank you so much for your video. It was very detailed and gave me a great insight on these dolls. Honestly I know how some people hate fakes but let's be real not everyone can afford a real blythe. And I think for someone who is just diving in to the blythe world these are great to start with. I love dolls and I have always been interested on blythe but the price attached to them has kept me at bay. We are talking hundreds of dollars. That for me is bill money and others living paycheck to paycheck. So having a cheaper alternative is always nice for those of us that want to treat themselves to a nice doll that isn't going to break the bank. Not to mention that everyone who is into dolls always needs some cute outfits for them and that can add up as well. So in my opinion I'm very thrilled for these dolls. Thanks again for your detailed review 👍 New subbie for sure 😀
I am watching this today, EXACTLY on the morning I received my Ali dolls. Always wanted one, so for me it’s affordability factor. I collect miniature dolls, have quite a vast collection, but never even held a real Blythe in my hands. Thank you for this review, I bought cheaply, NZD$29 and NZD$32 respectively. They are lovely, I got dark matte with LOTS of hair, they are gorgeous. Clothes I skimped on, not sure what I expected for $3-$4… still… it will do until better clothes purchased. Thank you!!!!
I would LOVE to be able to afford an official Blythe doll, but I'm as poor as a church mouse, on a pretty limited income so it's nice to know that there are alternatives. Maybe one day I will be able to afford an original.
Great video! I think I actually prefer the shiny face. To me it gives a uniqueness that separates them from the standard big box store vinyl dolls that have a similar big head/eye look.

Great review! I’m thinking of getting one in the future since legit blythes are so expensive. And it’s easy to find a variety of skin tones on aliexpress! Just wish the darker ones had a matte option, dark skin reflects light way more than light skin 😩 I didn’t realize that there was such drama surrounding fakies, although from what I seen it’s less similar to BJD fakies and recasts, where people are very concerned about small artists getting ripped off, and more just..Elitism. Ugh yeah, I see it like this, one they don't know how I live 2 it's my business what the hell type of doll i get and 3 those people I feel like they live good lives with good income so like they don't seem to understand that other regular peeps have priorities too.
Small artists have sculpted their dolls themselves taking many many hours and much love. They don't deserve to get ripped off by people doing illegal recasts. The recasts are always poor quality too. Copyright laws should be enforced. China thinks they can copy original dolls and art work of ANY kind. So don't bandy about the word, "Entitled'!! Save up and get the genuine article! That being said, are these dolls she's featuring LEGAL??? I know the Blythe dolls didn't sell well so their manufacture was discontinued. That's why their prices are so high now because there were very few made. The company then changed hands and the dolls THEY manufactured were very similar to the original Blytes but were, and are, much more affordable as well as still AVAILABLE. NEVER BUY ILLEGAL DOLLS. ILLEGAL DOLLS are a CRIME that isn't easily enforced, but is nonetheless CRIMINAL. This art is how the artists' make a living. In the doll world a great deal of the price of a doll goes to the factory who makes the molds according to the artist's original sculpt, the sample doll, then pours all the medium into the molds, sets the parts, then assembles all the dolls according to the number of them the artist has requested. Then many are factory painted by the manufacturerers painters, while some remain blank. The random colored eyes are bagged, then they're shipped. The doll factories also REQUIRE the artists to order a mimimum number of dolls of the same color! After returning to the artist, some of the blank dolls features are painted by them, while others go to another painting artist, or are sent blank to the person buying one to customize the facial features themselves. The doll manufacturers had been in the US in the past, but the prices became out of reach for the artists, so they had to reluctantly go to Chinese manufacturing. The Chinese, in general, think the work of an artist belongs to EVERYONE which is why some of the Chinese rip off an artist's work! They don't care about legal copyrights. I just found this video and I love it . Wish I’d found it before I purchased my first fake Blythe. But I love the one I got. I think my taste is exactly the same as yours so couldn’t have enjoyed this more.
I found what seems to be the same dolls on ThisisBlythe but being sold for 2-3x the price. Am I correct in assuming they are just buying them from AliExpress and reselling them for a profit? They claim they are "Custom Blythe" dolls, no indication that they are actually fake.
Yes, I bought one as a first-timer and after a few days found new reviews on Thisisblythe. None of them good. But nevertheless the doll turned up in two weeks time. Same quality as the rainbow doll just now. Lovely doll. Albeit a bit pricey compared to the costs for the exact same doll on Aliexpress. Lesson learned.
I have the mango (orange) haired, open mouth with teeth doll too! I love, love, love her! I put a picture of her on Aliexpress in a Christmas dress. I also have a mint green curly haired doll with the same mouth as the mango haired doll. I just wish she had straight hair. I prefer straight haired dolls with bangs. I am waiting on a pink straight haired doll with the different mouth with teeth doll. I like that she’s missing some teeth, because it makes her look younger. I have a faceplate with just the 2 teeth so I can put that face on any doll. Most of my dolls have the rainbow haired dolls face like yours do, but I do have one that has a pink mouth. I have some of the clothes, and shoes that you have too! I have that yellow dress but mine didn’t come with the balloons. I really would have liked the balloons.
I honestly, don't get why people complain about fake blythes destroying the seller market. It's just not true. Those dolls have been discontinued and were made in 1972. There is no way the market can be disrupted with a discontinued series. Although I agree that labeling them as authentic would do so, indeed. I only see the cheap options as a cool innovation to get more of these pretty dolls on the market for people who can't afford real ones.
Hi there, Blythes were discontinued but were rebrought as a brand a while ago and are very alive and healthy as an authentic doll type... however, they will set you back $$$. :) I have my eye on one which will cost me around $600 in my currency.
I love the Icy Blythe dolls but I just wouldn’t spend the money on an original Blythe. I collect BJD’s, Minifee and Narae, so my extra money goes to them.
Well dude as of maybe a week or 2 I got mines and wow she is so cute! Looks way better in person, thats why; your video help me decide to get one 😆 I also got her from the store you mentioned too! She took really long to get home but it's worth it🤩
I wanted to get an authentic Blythe, but there are so many things that you need to buy and customize that I find a bit overwhelming. If I do get an authentic one, I’ll probably leave it as is. The Aliexpress dolls already come with a ball joint body and they have so many options to choose from at a low price, I think it’s a doll to really play with. Blythe is more for collectors since they only release certain amount of sets each year and you can’t buy the older sets unless you are willing to pay extra. Especially for people who want to customize their doll but don’t want to ruin a $300 doll, Aliexpress dolls are perfect for customization.
Thank you for this WONDERFUL sooo informative review. Please, please, make your comparative review vs. real Blythe. All your opinions are priceless. Thanks ♥ MUCH.
Hi. I appreciate this video because I am thinking about adding Blythe to my doll collection. I planned to start with an Icy Blyth doll since the official Blythe doll is not available in a rich brown tone. I always want to start with the Dark dolls so I was happy to see the "dark" doll. Like you I prefer the matte face. I wonder if there is a way to matte the face with a spray... do you know? Thank you.
HI there, there is a way to Matte a face. I believe spraying with Mr Super Clear Matte finish will give take away shine on the doll's face. Jay Dolls UK Channel I believe has a tutorial for it :)
You can also remove the shine with a "magic eraser" sponge--either the brand name one or the generic one from the "Dollar" store. $1.25 versus $25 for matte Mr Super Clear!
I know this video is old but I would love to get the chubby Blythe doll but can’t find it on AliExpress do you happen to know what shop you got it from or maybe a link. I found clothes for the chubby doll but not the actual doll
It's so funny that I found this video now, just watching some Blythe videos, as I actually planned to make custom dolls for Sophie and Agatha from The School For Good and Evil as well! Not Blythe dolls, but a lot of the outfit pieces I'm using are coming from AliExpress, and looking through that site made me want to buy a few more Blythe fakes, lol
Aliexpress save me because i want one for years but i cannot pay one original and also i only want one with dark or tan skin and usually i see only pretty white ones in second hand or news with box so... I just buy this week one that say its a aw12 (don't know what that means) and... She look good quality in the photos and with one grey platinum hair very cool so i don't regret to buy her, just regret the time waiting because im hype and i may lost control with the blyth clothes, rip money

Saludos
I think your video is very well informative...good job ! Lovely dolls ~ With all the different dolls you purchased, did you pay any mind to the "plastics" material used in the making of the dolls??? I noticed ABS, PVC and "plastic" listed under Specifications. I am trying to learn which plastics respond best to sanding and carving, primers and pastels, etc. I did see that ABS is more $$ with PVC being mid-range and plastic being the less expensive. I am about to do what you did and just purchase several different types but making note of the plastics used in the making.....my concern is the reaction of/from products used to customize with different plastic. Curious mind wants to know ~ LOVE YOUR DOLLS !!!!!
Hi! I didn't note what plastics are used on the different ones but I did have a friend mention that quite a few customs are made from these 'cheaper' copies so I am guessing they are fine to sand/carve. Of course the official Blythes are much easier to use for customs but they also cost a lot more.
At 33:19 those are very detailed good shoes for 3$ it's just wow, although I would spend 1$ on them since it's items that go on an already expensive doll - kind of ish. I do love the pink dress, it's very well made, love the matte version of the icy dolls :D Further add on; I do like the underwear pink fluffy see through outfit - it's cute to layer with.
I bought one supposedly blythe doll but It a questionable I think she's a icy doll . I have bought 2 more im not too sure if they are blythe dolls or icy I will be uploading unboxing of these 2 soon. I would love your opinion on these I'm not very educated on these dolls but either way I love them all the same and they are very addictive 🥰👏🤣🤣 thanks for sharing your great info . Hi there, what website did you buy them from? shop.juniemoon.jp/ Is the only official online store I'd trust. There are a heap of fake Blythe shops out there (Aliexpress etc)
I love your dolls!!!! I just started my blythe icy and I've got 2 at home with me and three others on the way lol first time ordering on ali express. Am I going to be waiting for months with aliexpress???
Hi there, so far the longest delivery I've had to New Zealand has been a month (from Aliexpress). The quickest was a week. Unfortuantely there is no rhyme or reason to it lol!
I really like these I have 2 and have just recently ordered a 3rd one - the prices are so good for the quality aren’t they I also have some clothing which I really like too - enjoying Ali express week 😀😀😀
Thanks Jay, I have to admit I was surprised at the quality and price. Videos I saw of them I turned my nose up at as I was thinking they would be cheap plastic.... but they are very good. Barbies with accessories, like a couple of plastic dogs, cost the same price as some of these dolls. These dolls are far superior with their articulation, eye change and hair.
Its all about a look with fake, icy vs the real stock customs. To me anyway theyre all blythe to me. I think of fakes as a hobby doll. I adore giving them Make overs after 50 plus fakes then i attempted the real dolls..(note i do have an associates in fine arts..so the practice came easier) much more enjoyable doll to faceup and build if you ask me. Ppl put alot of money into hair for fakes, outfits and mohair hair)
Hi! I've been looking through AliExpress for awhile now, trying to find this store.. Do you have a like? I've found other stores as well but I'd like to order a doll from the one you purchased yours from, if that makes sense 😅
Let me explain this dolls are "Blythe“ ya you know but this are costom dolls so that minds it's not "fake“ and not "real“ And thay made by Chinese people and that body is not the original body so if you going to say it's fake please read this 🙏🙏 form Thailand 🇹🇭
Hi there, these are fake Blythe dolls. They are copies, imitations, boot leg, fake. Real "custom" Blythe dolls would entail an official Blythe doll modified. These do not. On sale's sites that do not allow stolen copyright, they are sold as "Blythe-like or Blythe-similar dolls. The real Blythe dolls are sold online: www.blythedoll.com/en/ Please note the price difference. I cannot remember where the post is, but there is an official post pointing out that Aliexpress dolls are 'copy Blythe" dolls. My best way to describe it is as follows: "" I can order all the parts needed to make a Sony TV. I can copy the look and wiring. I can make it exactly the same way the Sony factory does. I can then add the Sony TV Logo to the front. This however, does not make it a Sony TV. It is not made at the official factory, does not have the official quality checks and thus is a fake, a copy, a bootleg."" I can understand people want their recast dolls or copy dolls to be real. Everyone wants the real thing for less money. ..... or as my husband so eloquently puts things, "You can cover a poop in gold and marvel at its shine, but underneath it is still poop".
I've noticed certain websites are starting to relist these dolls as "Blythe-like" or "Blythe Similar". I imagine a crack down is happening as many UA-camrs are trying to pass them as authentic when they are not :(.

What type of hair is it? I just bought one and I’m hoping it’s not going to be poly. sorry if you said in the video my captions aren’t working well.
Doll clothes can kill our bank accounts LOL!
Hello, would you be able to send me the link of this shop please? I can’t find it. I can’t afford a authentic one and these ones look so good that I would like to get one. Thanks for the video! Xx
Sorry for the late reply - www.aliexpress.com/store/2347030?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4daMpfpj
This is where I purchase my dolls. :)
Aliexpress postage seems to be very slow at present due to world circumstances - i'd advise waiting till global post speeds up a little :).
My Family Toy Reviews thank you very much! Xx
Beautiful dolls
Super pretty dolls :D such long lovley hair!
Saludos
That is fine, long as you love your dolls
It doesnt matter if they're fake. They look cute and thats all that matters.
Great video! Do you know where I may find the doll you show at “19:30”? Thank you.
HI, all these dolls were purchased from "The Store" on Aliexpressl.
@@KiwiKollector Thank you! Have a brilliant week!
faces can Be matte down with msc
Can someone tell me what BJD stands for? Thanks!
Ball Jointed Doll (as in ball joints within the doll) :)
At 33:19 those are very detailed good shoes for 3$ it's just wow, although I would spend 1$ on them since it's items that go on an already expensive doll - kind of ish. I do love the pink dress, it's very well made, love the matte version of the icy dolls :D
Further add on; I do like the underwear pink fluffy see through outfit - it's cute to layer with.
The shoes are great, I agree :)
@@KiwiKollector nice o w o
Green and pink hair
Hi I'm new to the ICY blythe dolls. Can you move the eyes side to side without changing the eye color?
No, the eyes are preset to position on each rotation.
@@KiwiKollector Oh okie thank you!
Where do I get the one at 44 time stamp long straight hair what’s Ali express shop this came from ?
Aliexpress store: The Show!
@@KiwiKollector I’m trying to reach the owner to request straight hair one
Ty
I bought one supposedly blythe doll but It a questionable I think she's a icy doll . I have bought 2 more im not too sure if they are blythe dolls or icy I will be uploading unboxing of these 2 soon. I would love your opinion on these I'm not very educated on these dolls but either way I love them all the same and they are very addictive 🥰👏🤣🤣 thanks for sharing your great info . I love your dolls .
Hi there, what website did you buy them from?
shop.juniemoon.jp/
Is the only official online store I'd trust. There are a heap of fake Blythe shops out there (Aliexpress etc)
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I have 7 right now... and 5 in the mail❤️
That's a lot of cuties :)!
My Family Toy Reviews oh yes I totally agree 🙂🙂
Factory. Not fake or clone.
I just ordered my first fakie from aliexpress, but the fake and authentic look so similar to me, except the texture xD
Its all about a look with fake, icy vs the real stock customs. To me anyway theyre all blythe to me. I think of fakes as a hobby doll. I adore giving them
Make overs after 50 plus fakes then i attempted the real dolls..(note i do have an associates in fine arts..so the practice came easier) much more enjoyable doll to faceup and build if you ask me.
Makes perfect sense. When i'm home i'll get a link to the stores page for you :). I've never had an issue with them and they ship fast.
The cubby doll is wearing a nightie, not a dress I think.❤
You are probably right :)!
@@KiwiKollector 😊 I really enjoyed your video and found it helpful, thanks.
That is Mimi doll from the Drew carry show That's a dull type I have for her
Thank you Theodore!
Cutedoll
Thank you.
Let me explain this dolls are "Blythe“ ya you know but this are costom dolls so that minds it's not "fake“ and not "real“
And thay made by Chinese people and that body is not the original body so if you going to say it's fake please read this 🙏🙏 form Thailand 🇹🇭
The real Blythe dolls are sold online:
www.blythedoll.com/en/
Please note the price difference. I cannot remember where the post is, but there is an official post pointing out that Aliexpress dolls are 'copy Blythe" dolls.
My best way to describe it is as follows:
"" I can order all the parts needed to make a Sony TV. I can copy the look and wiring. I can make it exactly the same way the Sony factory does. I can then add the Sony TV Logo to the front. This however, does not make it a Sony TV. It is not made at the official factory, does not have the official quality checks and thus is a fake, a copy, a bootleg.""
I can understand people want their recast dolls or copy dolls to be real. Everyone wants the real thing for less money.
..... or as my husband so eloquently puts things, "You can cover a poop in gold and marvel at its shine, but underneath it is still poop".
@@KiwiKollector ok (new follower 🤗 )
FAKES and LOOK-ALIKES are fine, as long as they are LEGAL.
I've noticed certain websites are starting to relist these dolls as "Blythe-like" or "Blythe Similar". I imagine a crack down is happening as many UA-camrs are trying to pass them as authentic when they are not :(.
Fake are actually better than the real ones apparently
Ordered me two of them
Awesome, I've been tempted to order somer more and do a spray paint text on them to see how easy they are for customising.
blythe home link t aliexpress
cuuuuuute omg
Icy dolls are not “factory” dolls, period.
Please don’t talk too them 😳
