I love the inversion from Volume 2 when they went scouting with Dr Oobleck. He asks the other three about their goals because they're the vague ones without a complete picture, but Ruby has a solid grasp on what she wants to do. Now, they're the ones who know exactly what they are, while Ruby has doubts and no clarity.

As an addition to the earlier comment, there is a visual symbolism in the scene that references one of Ruby's words in V1. On how their weapons were an extension of themselves. Notice that when confronted with their past selves, Weiss, Blake and Yang all has their weapons at the ready. Whereas, Ruby no longer has her beloved Crescent Rose and dealing with an identity crisis.

Personally speaking (although his fate was already known), what was the significance of the book _Third Crusade_ that led to Tuscan’s assassination at the hands of Mercury and Emerald? There is clearly much more to the Curious Cat than simple curiosity as he seems to have the ability to heal or soothe the hearts of others. Time works weirdly in the Ever After in that somehow the Red King has reversed in age into the Red Prince. Could it be that he may be trying to help out the others in this world after the events of Aless’ arrival and departure? -Who are You? This is where the campfire talk at Mountain Glen in Volume 2 comes back into play, where Yang, Blake and Weiss understood their own stances on who they were as Huntresses after Dr. Oobleck challenged their motives. Yang, who relied on her own strength and bravado, had to learn how to continue on after her defeat to not rely wholly on her strength. Blake, who was uncertain on how she could help humans and Faunus, learned from her personal conflict with the White Fang in Menagerie what her path to take. Weiss, who had to struggle with her family issues, learned had to reconcile with it in order to become a stronger person for herself. That was while the three of them were able to confidently declare themselves as Huntresses. For Ruby, it almost broke her… _“This says I’m a Huntress now. But I don’t feel I know much more than I did at Beacon.”_ (Ruby to Qrow) It had already began to frustrate her throughout the volume to be asked that question, but now in her vision, she is forced to confront the question, but she has no answer in response. And this is difference between her and the others of her team. For Ruby, she was influenced by the fairytale stories and her mother and wanted to emulate that. And while it was a noble path, she had yet to know why she wanted to be a Huntress _personally._ While the others were separated away from the conflict for one reason or another, Ruby dove in to try to help people and learn what was going on, which pulled her into further into learning about Salem. That may be her Achilles Heel. She is so fixated in moving forward that she never thought to stop for a moment and just decompress (I think Yang was starting to realize this before their encounter with the Herbalist). And Blake had pointed out that issue long ago in Volume 1, when Ruby told her that she dreamed of being like the heroes of the stories. _“That’s very ambition for a child. Unfortunately, the real world isn’t the same as a fairy tale.”_ In many ways, Ruby is the reverse of the others. While others follow the example of Ruby by the heroic action and perseverance, Ruby herself has no personal example to follow, aside from the stories and her mother. And admittedly, her strength of spirit has allowed her press on while everyone else faltered, but that may be because she isn’t as burdened with personal issues as the others. But now she is in a situation where she doesn’t even understand what it means to a Huntress on a personal level. It is actually similar to the issue with Nora at how she didn’t know who she was without Ren and would have to find out who that person is aside from ‘cracking jokes and breaking things’. Referring back to Dr. Oobleck, even though he never asked Ruby the same question, he had already given her the answer when she asked him. _“I am a Huntsman, Ruby, because there is nothing else that I would rather be.”_ And not just a short answer. He told her how he saw what he could do with his intellect more than what he could do as a fighter. And for him personally, he grows stronger by learning from the history of the world and passing that knowledge to others. Ruby will have to learn the same lesson, which would explain her strong connection to the Ever After in a sense. Her ideas are based on fairy tales, so it is here in an actual fairy tale that she has to find her own answer. Take away the fairy tales, who is Ruby Rose?

Where are all of the Atlas citizens that fell? They have to show us them at some point, or did they end up in the same area as all of the Dust that Cinder had Roman steal in volume 1?
What are you talking about, every citizen that fell took a point blank blast from Cinder. They're dead. Average citizens don't know how to activate Aura either, so there was nothing protecting them. They are dead and irrelevant. The dust that Roman stole was used to blow up the tunnels underneath Vale in the S2 finale but also just to deprive the world of resources. So that when Atlas, one of the biggest monopolies of Dust on the planet, eventually fell too, they'd be fucked. Please think a little. I know it may seem hard, but it's not, I assure you.
CRWBY said somewhere the citizens are dead because they don't have an aura. (a very elegant way to ignore them, but makes sense) The dust was used for the bombs in volume 3 on the train.
@@sqxbarto9229 Don't have an activated aura what Pyrrh had to do for Jaune early season one. But for the regular citizens even if their aura was activated it would not be able to do much. All living things in Remnant have a soul and thus have an aura. Only Grimm don't have an aura. But without being activated an aura does not protect you and infered the average citizen does not have enough aura to bother activating it as it takes a lot out of the person who activates see Phyrrh season one on Jaune.
A good show to do reactions for would be Tsurezure Children. It's a anime with 12 episodes, is about high school confessions and romantic mishaps and is a 10/10 must watch comedy.
