Who else finds mushroom hunting oddly relaxing? 🌲😌🍄 Reminder: When foraging mushrooms, please be sure to identify them correctly with a trusted guide before eating any. Some mushroom species may be poisonous and fatal, so be careful. Clean and cook your edible mushrooms thoroughly before consumption. Also check the most up-to-date regulations of your foraging location, confirm if you need any permits and read up on best practices. Other than that, have fun spending time in nature 🍃 ► ABOUT THIS VIDEO: Joined a mushroom club and went foraging with other mushroom enthusiasts! It’s my first time ever mushroom hunting on the islands of Washington State. Specifically we’re checking out Whidbey Island and Camano Island. Some of us team up as we head off the beaten path while others go solo. Someone gets lost and we go on a search. Don’t worry: there’s a happy ending. Also turns out both locations have the incredible edible chanterelles! We find lobster mushrooms, boletes, and the very tasty Bear’s Head Tooth Fungus 🤩 Note: This video was filmed in late October and early November 2024. 🎉 Join my Patreon community for exclusive content: www.patreon.com/missminaoh ► VIDEO CHAPTERS: 0:00 Intro and Previews 1:04 Toothed Jelly Fungus (aka: Cat’s Tongue) 1:42 Young Puffballs 1:58 Witch’s Butter 2:11 FOUND BEAR’S HEAD TOOTH FUNGUS! 2:50 Fallen log with a second life 4:09 What Other Foragers Found 4:55 Seven Days Later: Another Mushroom Hunt! 5:30 Lots of Bolete 5:56 Mushroom that looks like a Fortune Cookie 6:14 Lobster Mushroom 6:23 We begin to find Chanterelles! 8:21 Looks like fingers! 10:09 What did other people find? 10:40 Someone got lost 11:04 Cook & Eat: Bear’s Head Tooth Mushroom 14:35 Next Cook & Eat: Chanterelles 19:12 My Patreon 19:26 My Pottery Update ► Other videos you might like: ○ GROWING EDIBLE MUSHROOMS at Home (Episode 1): ua-cam.com/video/RR6OfcN1LY8/v-deo.htmlsi=LsdaoK4fjqScgwTc ○ Foraging the Elusive MATSUTAKE MUSHROOMS: ua-cam.com/video/xaNjMRkHWHI/v-deo.htmlsi=fPeXSPE3TsfjvGaU ○ COASTAL FORAGING (Butter Clams, Seaweed and More!): ua-cam.com/video/JMa6x1NVKG0/v-deo.htmlsi=hpOLu5q28Ue5V9XQ ○ CATCH & COOK - Dungeness Crabs by Kayak: ua-cam.com/video/UThzG7Uihw0/v-deo.htmlsi=noYbGRwuqBUip5_C 👕 Merch Shop: bit.ly/MissMinaMerch 🎵 Music in this video (affiliate link): www.epidemicsound.com/referral/zo01l7 🎥 MY CAMERA & VLOGGING GEAR: www.missmina.co/blog/my-2020-vlogging-gear MORE MINA: ○ Instagram: @missminaoh ○ TikTok: @missminaoh ○ Facebook: facebook.com/missminaoh ○ Twitter: @missminaoh ► MY KOREA CHANNEL: ua-cam.com/users/sweetandtasty ► MY ARTS & CRAFTS CHANNEL: ua-cam.com/users/CreativeChillout
I remember few years back after my wife died, I was left alone with 3 kids. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with bipolar. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment changed my life for better. I can proudly say i'm totally clean for 6 years and still counting. Always look to nature for solution to tough problems, Shrooms are phenomenal.
I love hearing great life changing stories like this. I want to become a mycologist because honestly mushrooms are the best form of medicine (most especially the psychedelic ones) There are so many people today used magic mushrooms to ween off of SSRI medication- its amazing! Years back i wrote an entire essay about psychedelics. they saved you from death buddy, lets be honest here.
Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Australia don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source 🙏
I'm so very happy for you mate, Psilocybin is absolutely amazing, the way it shows you things, the way it teaches you things. I can not believe our world and our people shows less interest about it's helpfulness to humanity. It's love. The mushrooms heals people by showing the truth, it would be so beneficial for so many people, especially politicians and the rich who have lost their way and every other persons out there.
My favorite part is when you didn't take all of the mushrooms and you so very thoughtfully said " no, i dont wanna take them all...leave some for someone else" 🥰
btw (delete my comment after reading) you told us what days your mushroom club does meetups. We know what state your in. so im worried your giving too many clues to where your going to be. Please be careful. im a social media person too and ive had some horrible encounters bc of stuff like this. pls keep location/day secret
Bugs are rarely a problem with Chanterelles! Boletes, on the other hand 😫! I think this is the first time I've viewed a Miss Mina video. Your joyful demeanor and attitude--"it's like a playground.." are delightfully entertaining!
I love these mushroom foraging videos! Mostly foraging in general but i like fungi since they are usually FunGuys! I would love it if you made more mushroom videos / foraging. Best of luck!
Mushroom hunting in the PNW WOO HOO! Back in the 70's my mom & brothers would go mushroom hunting in the forest (north pierce co & south king co ) they knew of a secret area where they would go bring back a big plastic garbage bag full of chanterelles. They would eat a skillet full of fresh chanterelles and with the rest would string them up to dry or use a dehydrator to dry them. I asked one of my brothers if they still went, he said no it was a lot of work hunting and processing them and as he got older had digestive issues. For myself I stick to the store bought ones!🍄❤
What a fun mushroom video!❤. Chanterelles are my favorite.😊. Here in Maryland, we had a fairly wet first half of summer, but then it got very dry. At the end of this dry spell, I ended up tearing my Achilles tendon while mushroom hunting after being attacked by bees!😮. Of course, while I was laid up for three months, the rains returned and lots of people were posting pics of chanterelles and lots of other mushrooms. All I could envision was my coveted chanterelle patch just blowing up, but I couldn’t get to it!😢. I was able to get out this fall and scored some maitake!😊. I will have to wait for next summer to get back to my chanterelles, hopefully we get plenty of rain then. There are some nice mushrooms this time of year, and now that I’m back on my feet, your video has inspired me to go seek them out! Hopefully some enoki, winter oyster, witch’s butter, wood ear, and who knows what else. Stay tuned!😊
I have been watching your videos since so long now. They are always so interesting to watch and I get to learn new things. I really admire how you notice small things about the environment. Never miss out on any of your videos! ☺😁❤
So fun and funny editing. This almost made me wanted to join the Washington Mushroom hinting team just to have a chance to meet you. You’re living my dream and I’m so happy you’ve over 1 Million subscribers now. You have convinced me to do mushroom hunting again where I live, chanterelles galore at one location.
Beautiful fungi! Looks like a wonderful subject to draw or to photograph once everyone has displayed their finds on the picnic tables. After you've cleaned and dry-sauteed them, your presentation on your gorgeous pottery really popped! I'm sure they were all quite tasty too. 🍄🍄🍄
FYI, what you thought was a newt is actually a Western Redback Salamander. These are found throughout Western Washington. Great show, and we foraged a bunch this year down around the Long Beach peninsula area.
When folks say they don't like the texture of mushrooms, I suggest lions mane (easier to farm) and bears head tooth bc it's actually creamy like a potato when baked.
I sell mushrooms that I forage along with plants and I love to watch you running through the woods. Looking for the things that are in my area All of the time. Have fun
Heartwarming to see a group of adults enjoying nature's playground, I would love to join a local nature group such as this one. Anyone know the best website to find local nature groups?
I yelled out to my daughter...Mina went mushroom foraging! She comes over, and says who? I point to my screen and she shakes her head. Teenager have no idea what's cool. I was excited.
A good analogy is to think of the mushrooms as the fruit growing on a tree. With mushrooms, the mycelium in the ground or rotting wood, leaves, etc. is the main organism and the mushrooms that people harvest are merely the fruiting body. As long as they've developed to sporulation stage, it doesn't hurt to pick mushrooms any more than it hurts pick to apples from a tree. Foraging then can actually assist propagation by spreading the spores--it's why woven baskets, mesh bags, and buckets drilled full of holes are preferred vessels by most foragers--farther and faster than the natural processes might.

Where did you get your bomber jacket!!!❤❤❤ it's so cute!
When i first watched you i got intrested to mushrooms bc of you but i never had the chance to grow my own bc my mom wouldnt let me.
The witches butter is in this one store of a mushroom section and I always touch is obsessively becuase it’s not any mushroom I seen
I too always dry fry
I wonder if we picked too much, will it affect its propagation.
I think it's best if you use a knife, leaving the end to regrow
