- A rear-facing child seat reduces the risk of injury in a head-on collision by more than 80 % when compared to a conventional forward-facing seat with harness system.*
This excellent safety performance with its protective shield function and the clever functionality of the pioneering combination car seat Sirona was awarded TEST WINNER in the latest child car seat test by Stiftung Warentest (6/2013) in Group 0+/1. *According to research conducted by VTI -- Swedish Road and Transport Research Institute (Rapport 489A, 2003)
The product shown complies with ECE R-44/04 standards. We would like to explicitly state that US products are subject to different standards and thus functionalities and handling may vary.
It’s over 9000 times harder in the real situation !!! When youre hiting everything in the car, and you have the door and interior door panel to help you do this job ! And also a fat seat with hard to find isofix system then IMPOSSIBLE cybex “guide plastics” and so one. Took me and the sales person a full 45 minutes “gym” workout ! 👍🏼
Yes exactly. As a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, we teach parents how to install and use this car seat. However when they see other types of convertible car seats that are equally as safe but easier to install and use, then those are the safest and most appropriate car seat.
I tried the front facing. I want to see that dude try it in an actual car. It's 100 times more difficult doing this in a parking lot.
True. Now vehicle seat looks like this. Also every vehicle and configuration is difference. Terrible misleading video.
Do you have to have 3 arms to press green left and right and pull the rail out?
They did not show the other side. You should use your mouth or gravity(shake down keeping face down).
No, you can hold the grey lever up with one hand and then release both green buttons, so one hand free to extend the rail ;)
For the front view, is it okay to sit without the cushion?
I just wondered if we keep buckling up like we did with the rear view. Our kid seems dislike the cushion.

This is the best video out there. I was given this car seat as a gift i have a cosatto for other child so easy to use i love it. This one looks like a spaceship!! Is that huge cushion for use of older child not baby? How old and when to use that cushion thing? Also do you not have to use actual seatbelts with this car seat because it has an isofix base?? Sorry for my dumb questions, i just dont have anyone to help me.
I was wondering the same about seat belt
@@danmorland3029 hi dan i found out if you have fixed isofix points you dont need to use the car seatbelt as it is already attached to the car.
@@neetusoo I've just read that thank you for a reply .problem I now have is its missing that plate that clicks into place and rests against the seat to stop it tilting 🙄
@@danmorland3029 oh no try ebay?

Can you use the seat belts in front facing as my daughter doesn’t like the safety cushion?
Is there a way to provide more leg room and still be RF? My LO is only 18months but running out of leg room? I dont particularly want to FF.
Is it allowed to face my kind forwards and putting them in the harnass instead of the cushion?
Hi, to travel forward facing in our Sirona toddler car seat, your child must weigh more than 9 kg and the safety cushion must always be used to ensure the child's safety.
In my experience, i HATE it, there other cheaper brands that does the same without all the hassle of simply facing the seat forward!
Hey Mod! Sorry to hear that. This was one of our original Sirona models. The newer versions do not require you to stow away the harness, as they use it both forward and rearward-facing. You can check them out at www.cybex-online.com
@@cybexglobal i stow away the harness and it still doesn’t allow me to face forward. I dont know what else im doing wrong
@@neetusoothere's a button where you stow away the harness and the button/harness is pushing that button when stowed away. I'm yet to find out if it's allowed to travel with the harness in front facing position
@@cybexglobal How about you reply to all the other questions where people (myself included) can't turn it beyond the 90 degrees to face forward, nor can we close the red hatch, because it has some weird legs inside that are not seen in the above video.
I busted my ass for 35 minutes trying to get it facing forward. when he lifts the red cover and easily clicks the three belts together and hide them under that lid, i find it impossible. its not enough room under there at all. Where is this button to get it facing forward from a 90 degree angle? (facing you when you stand in the door way).
I found the solution. At the top of the hole where you put the buckle in, there is a little latch. Doesn't even look like a button. You could put the top of the buckle under that hatch, or above it. Pretty much by accident. If you put the buckle under it, the seat won't rotate. You have to push that thing ("button") down with the buckle, or simply with your finger. The video misses to point this out. Than the seat rotates.
Please may I have details of who created the music to this video? Thanks!
Have y tried Shazam?
How do i turn it to face forwarddddd. Ive pressed that black lever thingy, under the red thingy. Ive done all the steps and hacks. Surely something im missing??
I have the same issue, no solution yet :(

Helpful! Thanks
Should the seat belts only be used when the seat faces rearwards?
Wich model is it? Sirona Z, S?
Hi! This is the original Sirona. The Sirona S i-Size and Sirona Z i-Size are different models.
@@cybexglobal thank you😘
Tried an hour under sun to turn it front facing, impossible, anyone successful?

Hi.. we have a mercedes vito van, and in the van, there are seats which are already looks back and I want to install my cybex to one of them. Is there a trick without using cushion?
- rearward facing child with a forward facing mechanism-
Hi! The Sirona is not allowed to be used on rearward facing seats, for example in a van or minibus. The child seat must always be secured in place with the ISOFIX system, even when not in use. If you have to perform an emergency stop or if you are involved in a minor collision, an unsecured seat can injure you and other passengers. Best regards, Your CYBEX Social Media Team
Thank you for the video!
What is the minimum height of the child in front facing?
What is the maximum height in rear facing?
Hello Christos! Our Sirona is UN 44/04 certified, therefore, it categorises children by their weight. he car seat is designed for children from birth to 18kg and it can be used in a forward-facing position from a body weight of 9kg. Note: we always recommend parents to have their children rear-facing for as long as possible. Best, CYBEX.
Perfect! But not available in US...
That's a real shame. We have it for our little girl here in the UK and it's perfect for her and us.
Maybe US loves to have different standards than the rest of the world... >
How does this car seat not tilt over when you turn? there's no seat belt holding on to it from the car.
pearls57chevy it is fixed in with the isofix base.
